Horizon Enterprises Plumbing and Heating - Horizon invoice

    Horizon Enterprises Plumbing and Heating

We live an hour away, so we know it's hard to service our area. Regardless, Horizon took an $800…read moredeposit and said they could come out the next day. The next day came and went and they ghosted us. We called back the following day and they said they were too busy and couldn't help us. We are waiting to get our deposit back. We called Roto Rooter of Gallup and they came out that morning and did our job for a fraction of the price Horizon quoted us. We are so happy we found a good plumber (Roto Rooter) and we will not be doing any business with Horizon going forward. Avoid them!

I had a clogged sink in my bathroom and called Horizon Plumbing to snake it out. Their secretary…read moresaid I would be charged a $350 deposit before the plumber can even start the job and that I would receive credit from my deposit for the work done when they received the invoice from the plumber. I never received an invoice and they charged the $350 to my credit card without giving back any credits. I called many times and asked for an itemized invoice and my credit from the service. They said the plumber hasn't given them his invoice so they will have to keep the $350 charge without giving me back any credit until they received the invoice. Two months later and several more calls to Horizon, I'm given the same excuse, "The plumber hasn't given them the invoice", but now they added that the reason for the delay was because the plumber said "all the pipes need to be replaced with PVC pipes and more work needs to be done". They said that the $350 was charged because the plumber had to snake out the pipe and order a pee trap and the job requires further work. The delivery took over an hour to bring the pee trap so he can hook it up. I found out latter they charged me for the hour of him waiting for the part. The original pee trap was in good condition and didn't need replacement since I had recently remodeled the bathroom and replaced the old pee trap with a new one. Most plumbers I have dealt with in the past carry these usual parts and tools along with them in their service truck. Finally, after many attempts of calling Horizon for an itemized invoice without success, I personally went to visit them at their place of business to get an itemized invoice. The secretary said they sent an invoice 3 months ago. I complained that I only received an invoice with a charge to my credit card for $350, but an itemized invoice was not included. The owner overheard my complaint and stepped up to the counter and pushed the secretary aside to take over. She asked what my complaint was and I rehashed to her about the charge without an invoice. She logged onto the secretary's computer and sent me an itemized invoice to my phone. I looked over the invoice and questioned the charge for the wait and delivery of the pee trap. She became very irritated with my complaint about the expense of the charges. She pointed out that I still owed another $267.00. I argued that their company has overcharged me for the unnecessary time and parts to unclog the sink. She asked, Well, did the plumber unclog the sink?" I said, yes, but he also quoted that the job still needs new pipe work, which he has not done yet." She said that I needed to pay the extra charge of $267.00 for the service first. I complained about the charges and the severe expense of their service. She became very rude and irritated with me because I told her I was going to leave a bad review on Yelp. The owner then asked again, "So, did the plumber unclog the sink?...and so now you're complaining because the job gets done and you're not wanting to pay for the service?" I replied respectfully that I wasn't complaining about having service and paying for it, I was complaining that the charges were unreasonable. I explained I would pay the extra $$ amount on the bill, but I wasn't happy about it and that I would still leave a poor review on Yelp about her business. She griped and grumbled a bit more, then logged back onto the computer to erase the extra charge, doing so with a certain animosity. I would not recommend doing business with Horizon Heating and Plumbing, nor to I trust their services and their billing practices. I endured a lot of back lash from the owner in order to receive justice on my behalf. I also had another plumbing company check out the pipes Horizon said needed to be replaced and they found that the pipes were PVC pipes and in good condition so didn't need to be replaced. Hopefully, the owners will take this Yelp review into heart and change their business ethics to be fair and honest with their customers.
