I wish I could leave zero stars. The office is full of young people who don't know what to do with difficult situations. Property management is invisible and never wants to help with anything. The pool is often closed, the mailroom door is broken a lot, people leave trash on their porch all the time, dog poop is everywhere despite there being waste stations easily accessible, you can hear everything through the walls and the ceilings because it's made of wood instead of concrete. This place won't kick anyone out for anything because they want their money. I was told that unless I have an ex parte against my neighbor, who is threatening my safety, they will not let me out of my lease. My neighbor deliberately makes noise to bother me. This has been happening all year. The office doesn't care. I have submitted video evidence. Security here is not able to do anything about safety and they are never around. It takes them an hour to come out here for anything. People's cars are constantly being broken into. This place is not safe and they don't care. read more

J S 6 reviews 3 days ago New I have lived at this complex for 2.5 years, and while I pay my rent on time every single time, I am a clean and responsible tenant: my "valued residency" on their lease renewal form on their website feels like it counts towards nothing. I have only stayed because it's easier to stay put and pay too much to be treated the way I have, than to go through the pain of moving. Renter beware: once you sign those papers you are in for a ride. Numerous issues with being sent lease violation notices that we were not guilty of (one of which wasn't even for my apartment and had someone else's info on it). Evidence given for a pet waste violation of lease was "someone said a dog was seen relieving itself on the lawn outside your apartment and no one picked up after it." Yes, I have a dog. So do many other residents. And this is my fault because it's just outside my windows? Another pet leash reminder was sent after the complex decided the middle of winter was a good time to replace door seals, and my dog managed to get out the door because it literally wouldn't stay shut unless I locked it. I received the notice shortly after chasing my dog around the complex for 20 minutes with a leash in my hand. Overflowing sink issue caused by maintenence staff was fixed like 90% of the way, but they were unwilling to put new silicone on the sink and the whole sink wobbles. We have to be careful not to fill it, or water sloshes over the unsealed edges and into the storage space below. Janky electric box in this unit caused the microwave to blow the breaker multiple times even after the breaker was replaced. Noise complaints made against neighbors that let their kids stay up all night running back and forth across the apartment went unresolved for two months, before I started considering legal action. The leasing office kept telling me to talk to the night security service even after a third, fourth complaint was made. I had to send them recordings of the upstairs doors being slammed and kids jumping off the bed at 4:30 am before they did anything about it - like they weren't taking me seriously, or didn't believe me. The office is willing to renew a lease clear up until the very day you would need to vacate - yet at 53 days to go they drag their feet on paperwork needed to send to a potential new landlord, and still charge a prorated amount for the 7 days needed for notice to vacate. There is apparently zero wiggle room on this, even though I did not fill out their renewal form (which logically, is an answer in and of itself). What are they really losing by accepting it at 53 days from a tenant that was never late on payment for 2.5 years? What does the complex gain by charging me for an extra week when they could use that time to re-list the apartment (a process they will need to go through regardless)? Is this bad review worth the wasted emails and time? I feel like I'm being held hostage for trying to leave. I was originally not going to post this review, preferring to let this experience be water under the bridge, another classic example of "that's why you don't rent apartments from corporations." But the corporate "by the book" treatment of my family from the moment we signed the paperwork, including by the manager who pompously informed me they've been in this industry for 24 years when notifying me of the prorated amount I would need to pay, and their subsequent condescension when I asked if there was any way we could let this go with well over a month before actually leaving - has left me without any wiggle room. I will post this because it's my "by the book" experience; an honest review that I was hounded multiple times by the leasing office to leave on Google shortly after signing the paperwork, and a couple of times after a repair order was completed. This is my first apartment ever and I enjoyed it at first, but now there just always seems to be something that's a problem. I wouldn't recommend these apartments to anyone at this point. I moved in the beginning of January of 23 & it is currently mid November of 23 & I JUST NOW got my dryer fixed. (11 months... absolutely ridiculous) It used to take 4 times for any of my clothes to dry & I was hanging most of them to dry every day. I had maintenance come out once a month, if not more, and nothing got fixed until I was rude and threw a fit, which isn't me AT ALL, nor did I want to have to be like that. When they brought me a new dryer... it was from someone else's apartment, which is totally fine, other than it had dirt, rocks, hair, a bug, and someone else's lint & dryer sheet in it, along with it smelling like it was going to catch fire. (pics below) SUPER GROSS & very disappointing considering I had to wait another week to get a different dryer. Once I finally got a brand new dryer out of the box, the line was still clogged, it was getting old lint all over my clothes/everywhere and causing condensation inside the dryer. So someone finally came out to fix it, it ended up taking 2-3 different visits to my apartment because they didn't know how to clear out a line. The bugs here are insane even though pest people come. But they only spray the bathroom & kitchen so I have to spray for my own bugs. Also, document EVERYTHING even if it's the tiniest scratch or dent or anything, because you will have to pay if it's not in the system/documented. Not to mention, the office doesn't have any sort of management, so they say. When we asked to speak with a manager about the dryer issues, they told us there was not a manager, which explains why no one in the office is on the same page ever & they don't know what they are doing. So, if you have issues, you need to call corporate in new jersey & you will get your answers. I usually don't leave reviews either, but i'm so frustrated about everything it's only necessary for other people to be aware before they rent from this apartment complex. A few things they don't tell you before you rent... THE WATER IS SHARED between similar units in your facility. As a single guy in a two bedroom apartment, I am sharing the cost of water and sewage with full families in the same unit. I also travel quite a bit for work, which means I could spend a month away from home using ZERO water. I will still get a bill for EVERYONE ELSE using water here. THE LATE FEES FOR RENT IS TEN PERCENT; not a flat amount. ever you are paying If you are paying 1k for rent, your late fees are $100. Possibly mentioned in the contract, but definitely not pointed out when reviewing the documents. ADDITIONAL $33 CHARGE IF USING A CREDIT CARD to pay for rent. NONE OF THE RENT COVERS UTILITIES. You are paying only for the roof over your head. Maintenance is fast, but administration is SLOW. I submitted my insurance documents TWICE and still haven't heard back from anyone. Evergy is the ONLY choice for electricity and their rates are high. You are charged separately for electricity and heat. A confirmation number doesn't guarantee that they actually turned on your services. I have a confirmation from October (when I first moved in) and discovered that Evergy DID NOTHING. So I am billed directly from Barry at a flat rate instead of what I used. A two hundred dollar charge for less than twenty days in the apartment. There isn't a separate place for recycling. You're not saving the planet here. None of the interior or exterior lights are energy-efficient, which works well with their deal with Evergy. The walls are thin. You can hear conversations through the floor. You are near a hospital, which means you can hear the ambulances and helicopters that pass. I give them props for moving me out of an apartment that I absolutely hated, but that's it.. None of these surprise fees and charges were spelled out before I moved into the apartment -- conveniently overlooked by everyone. I will not rent here again. read more

DO NOT LIVE HERE!!! We only lived here for a week before all the issues came. I will never recommend to rent here. Our first week living here was the worst! The main pipe busted in the furnace closet and there was human poop, baby wipes, toys, & crayons pushing out of the furnaces & pipes. We put in our ticket for maintenance. They came a few hours later after we explained to them that there was human feces pouring into our apartment. Maintenance came in and wipe, sprayed, and vacuum the poop ONLY did not fix the clog and said they will have to call in the plumber come later. After cleaning, more feces started coming out and we entered a second maint ticket and they let us know they had an emergency plumber on the way. They came in to snake the pipe but he said there was years worth of baby wipes clogged in and pulled an entire bag of baby wipes out of the pipe. There was a hole in the main pipe line and that they would need to patch up the main line (second week living there). We received an email blaming us for the plumbing damage even though we had moved in literally that same week. The following Monday someone from the plumbing company came into our apartment without letting us know, came home & found a dirty shirt on my bed along with a water bottle & tools on top of my bed. Went and reported to management she just kept apologizing and that next time someone entered our home they need to reach out to us before entering because we have a dog and its part of the lease to notify residents of entry. Also asked them if they could come clean or air out the apartment because the whole place smelled like poop through the vents. Management said she would send in the cleaning team the next day, again they entered without letting us know. This time our closet doors and storage doors were open that's the only reason why we knew. After that I re-read our lease if you come across issues within 120 days they should allow you to move to a different apartment. The manger did not want to work with our price range she offered us a smaller apartment(that was almost 500 more than what I was already paying), re-pay dog fees, re-pay the down, and repay all the additional fees even though we had nothing to do with the plumbing issue. Managements was basically saying "well true its not your faults but its also not our fault but you can still live here if you want but we gotta charge you more). Not to mention I left my other apartment due to an emergency (paid all those early fees). I was out of options as I used all my money to move in to these apartments and just wanted to transfer to something similar. We tried talking to the manager about our options and the manager was not empathetic at all nor did she want to hear us out and related the faulty apartment given to me by them to her car accident and said "life just isn't fair". A vehicle loss is a lot less worse than literally being HOMLESS. We moved out after living here for 1 month. Thankfully corporate was able to waive the fees for terminating our lease early even though it was not a home one could live in. We are now living at The Landing at Tiffany Springs they are a bit more pricey but its like having your own town home, its clean, new, and the staff is AMAZING! Look at the pictures and think twice before you sign that lease. Management is terrible and did not want to help with our situation. They ladies in the front are very understanding and did their best to help. Maintenance WILL enter your home without you being there and snoop through your stuff. read more

I've lived in several complexes throughout the US and this has been my favorite so far. The management team is quick and helpful, which really helps this place stand out to me. I rent one of the refurbished apartments which includes new carpet, new appliances and granite countertops. I've heard mixed reviews from other residence with pest problems but there is a service that will come spray on request. I've never experienced pest problems and have yet needed to call. Landscape crews as well as maintenance spray regularly. The gym is entry level but great for those that want to get out of the house and put in some work, I subscribe to a larger one up the street. The pools are nice (when they are open). This leads me into my only complaint thus far, the team fails to regulate who comes in and out of the pools and they consistently get shut down. All in all, you can't beat this place for the cost. Location is great, area is safe, apartments are clean. I highly recommend. read more

Just don't... When I first moved in I had issues and that should have been the first red flag. I came into a new apartment that supposedly was new but there was holes on the walls the stove was used and rusting there's dents in the fridge cuts on the counter dust and dirt all over the floor as if they didn't clean up after the last minute. Second the whole grass area is just a big land mine of dogshit. That being said that was from old Property Management. Beginning of 2017 New Management took over everything seem cool and things looked like it was turning around. Everything was being remodeled gym was remodeled. A dog park was thoughts and place it seemed all fun and dandy. Staffing is probably two people there that I thought were great they gave great customer service or as everybody else was just very snobbish and nose in the air as if they're better than everybody the two managers we're not really managers. They walked around like they were better than the their leasing agents and that they knew everything. Back in October I signed a form saying that I'm not going to renew my lease. I informed them that I might be leaving a day or two earlier than what I originally sign for. They told me it was only two days that it was cool no worries. Come December when I leave my apartment I check again with them I told them "hey I'm leaving 2 days early I've talked to someone from your corporate office that was here back on Oct. they said it was okay", they said that was fine and that I had a balance of 0. Fast fourth of January I get a bill for the last 2 days. First of all if it's gone the last two days there should be some type of waiver. It's not like they were in a rush to sell that unit they were in the middle of remodeling every single unit anyways it's not like they could have sold it right after i moved out. At least I could have said was to hold the keys for the last two days and return it instead they just told me that it was okay. This place is a joke they've been through so many management it's not even funny. Another issue a friend of mine that lives in the same apartment complex there had flooding caused by another attendant. for her to move to a new unit they told her that she would have to pay the difference in amount for a temporary move even though it was the former tenants fault and the properties. That's absolutely ridiculous to charge a tenant who happened to be in a situation that wasn't even their fault. It was my fault for not reading the reviews on all the outlets. I give it an A for being close to everything but a F for not being accommodating or understanding. By the way don't try calling corporate office cause they'll just brush your side as well read more

The Reserve at Barry is a tolerable place to live. However, the management is horrendous and frequently disrespect the residents and their wishes. Noise concerns are rarely handled with in a timely manner, and there is very poor communication between management and residents concerning corrections. I'm confused by the other two reviews. First of all, this is an apartment complex, before you even sign the lease they walk you through apartments that are available and you choose the apartment you wish to rent. Once you've agreed to rent at a complex, if you are a smart renter, you perform an initial check of your apartment, noting any details and make a request for any issues to be fixed - so, if you require ceiling fans/lights for your comfort, then locate another apartment complex that offers them as an amenity, there are plenty in the area that can help you I am sure. I have requested maintenance a couple of times and have always promptly been helped. For the individual who complained of wifi not working at the clubhouse, who in their right mind would want to hangout at a public place to sit on the internet? Seriously, do you know how unsecure public wifi is? The amenities not existing? Hmmm, last time I checked I have been able to use the pools in the summer, the fitness room seems to be well used on a daily basis by many residents. To say a place sucks based on the water being shut off....the office sent out notification to all residents that the water piping was being serviced. It ended up taking longer than expected - which I was well notified of....not sure why you're complaining about that. I've lived at the apartment complex for a year now, renewed my lease - at an increase of only $30....which I was shocked it was so low. My first apartment in KC I rented was smaller, cost more than my 2/2 and was increased by nearly $100 when I checked on renewal options. Would I say that the aprtments are perfect? No, it's an aparment complex, there are always things that could be improved upon, but I do not have anything so negative about the apartment to say a place sucks. For the money and size of the apartments, this place is perfect for the single professional, someone getting back on their feet, and single parents...even retirees ;-) read more

I moved out mid November. I received a phone call from Zach on Feb 23rd telling me they were finally giving me back my pet deposit. That's three months after I left! By MO law, a complex has to give you back your deposit within 30 days. If they do not, they have to notify you within 15 days. About two weeks after I moved out, someone from the office called complaining they never received my keys. Knowing how unorganized they are, I actually mailed them back to the office, signature required upon receiving. I told them I have records that they received the keys and proof to show it. The guy was like, "oh, we must have misplaced them...." Don't rent. Seriously, the city needs to shut them down. And trust me I've complained to the city and its too much of a hassle for the city...apparently. read more

I had to delete my positive review to address some of the issues we have been having lately. I have emailed, called, and met with apartment management regarding the poor landscaping/grounds-keeping around our building (and every surrounding building, for that matter). The only landscaping that is well maintained is that in front of the leasing office (shocker!). Our specific building has weeds growing 4+ feet tall all around...it is just a total eyesore and embarrassment. I'm disappointed in the lack of care & respect shown to the residents. I have been a resident here for 3 years and it seems this place has recently gone DOWNHILL. Between this and the spike in rent, the lack of upkeep on amenities, poor management, we will not be renewing our lease. read more

I am a current resident and I put in my notice to vacate due to the fact that the care of the property has went down and they don't take care of the grass the way they used to and there is garbage everywhere if you don't believe me drive by them when they aren't setting up tours especially the trash areas that are ACROSS THE STREET from the leasing office not the ones that are part of the tour. However, I was going to leave it alone and just move on but today is the 4th OF JULY THE RENT IS NOT LATE UNTIL AFTER THE FIFTH and on my way out of the door I had a horrible and threatening letter telling me that if I did not get the rent to them immediately that they would turn me over to the legal dept within the next 3 days!!!!! Now I could not believe that this notice was on my door for anyone to see and also that its NOT EVEN THE 5TH!!!! I feel like this behavior is a mistreatment due to just 2 days ago I followed the rules of my lease and came and gave them my notice to vacate!!! So once they find out that you are not staying even though I gave the notice and handled the situation in a professional manner and the woman was really nice to me and we discussed my last day at the unit and there was no negativity in that experience ......they wait until your back is turned and for no reason at all they threaten you with EVICTION, LEGAL FEES AND EVERYTHING ELSE!!! Whats funny is that I just had this discussion with my daughter about wondering if this is a issue they could fix and now this!!!! I must point out, I was offered to stay with a renewal letter, by the way, but I would not stay or suggest anyone stay or come to a place that as long as they are making money off of you they are nice but instead of asking "why are you leaving or is there anything that we could have done better" (which when I turned in my notice no one asked why or I guess even cared why) how do you get better if you don't know what the problem is? Two of my neighbors already left for similar issues and I did not bother to see how they were treated during the 60 day period of time but now I can guess that they are starting to cause trouble or issues because they are not happy with me. Its sad to be treated in this manner and yes I do plan to make sure each and every penny owed is paid on the 5th which is when I had planned to pay it which is within the terms of my lease agreement will be paid ON TIME!!!! Just in case someone from the property reads this and I actually hope you do...... although I was not the happiest I was NOT going to submit a review because its the entire property in general that's dirty and also the equipment in the gym is BEYOND RUSTY!!! I am not pointing out anything that people can not see for themselves I had to get a gym membership even though they advertise the gym you look in there the gym looks great....but you don't look at the equipment closely....please do. Also it does not get cleaned on a regular basis!!! But back to my point I was just going to chalk it up as a bad experience and move on but then you threaten me and I did nothing to you except ride out my lease and mind my own business and just because I gave you the notice that I agreed to give you not only is that rude its poor business and it makes me feel like if as a tenant you get mad at me you can just change the lease and the rules that we both sat down at the beginning of our time together just because you can!!!! My apartment got broken into twice last winter (had to call police twice on 2 separate occasions) and when I brought it up to the girlies in the leasing office I was dismissed, saying doors "just open and shut on their own" as an excuse to talk me out of changing my locks (even if the lock was dead-bolted). Flash-forward a few months later (August), they sent out a mass email about apartments getting broken into. And as recently as December 16th 2020, my ex-roommate informed me there was someone looting cars who fired a gun at someone when they were approached, so definitely would think twice about your safety here. Lovely people at the office, even have tiny bottles of water to offer you, until you sign your lease. Then they turn into a pretty all around unhelpful bunch of people. To be fair, though, I've never met anyone who worked at a leasing office who actually liked their job and cared about their residents past getting them to sign a lease, so not totally shocked about their dismissive, uncooperative attitude. Also the HVAC systems are terrible so stock up on things to insulate your apartment yourself because the complex doesn't provide anything to help. TL;DR- The staff at this complex is pretty all around unhelpful, but how they handle safety issues is the most concerning and I would caution anyone looking here to look at your options elsewhere. read more

We have just moved in on Wednesday and today is only Monday. We are instantly regretting our decision to move into this complex. First of all I want to say the 1 maintenance man Lonnie is as amazing as he can be. But he is only as good as what he is working with. I live in one of the 3 bedroom Villas. Over 1600sqft. The HVAC unit they have for this place is probably only for a place half this size. The only vent that is blowing out any kind of air is right above the unit in the "dinning room". All the other vents are basically useless with only a tiny trickle of air. I am running 7 fans through out the place just to circulate the air to keep it at a comfortable temp. And that is only in the middle of of the night, But as the sun comes out and the hot summer temps build up it is a losing battle daily. The HVAC has not stopped running since we have moved in. We are going to be looking at a 1000.00 electric bill at this rate. I have sun blocking curtains in all windows as well. I have not been able to open a single blind to have any natural light in, but we are lucky to not have a unit that is facing the evening sun or it would be a sauna in my unit. When Emergency maintenance was called when the temps were over 80 in the unit 1 guy finally came and said "Well the unit is working, there isn't anything I can do" and left. But that was only after 5 calls were made to the Emergency line and no one showing up. Finally made a request to talk to the property manager and that is when the regular maintenance guy was sent. He said that this is basically as good as it's going to get. That they have the units already set to the highest setting to get the air to the other rooms. When I asked then why not actually have systems that are made to cool this size of a unit he just shrugged his shoulders. Told me to keep all doors open to the affected rooms, don't use the appliances that would make the apartment hot during the day. The ladies in the office so far have been super nice, but again, they are only as good as what they are working with. The higher ups obviously do not care about the renters of this complex, and the prices are outrageous for what we are dealing with. If I had the opportunity I would not just walk away from this place... I would RUN! read more

I've lived at Reserve at Barry around 5 years now. I was looking into moving elsewhere until new management came in. They've been making many upgrades and improvements (but I don't want to pay to move or have to deal with moving for an updated unit). I LOVE that they're pet friendly and have put in the dog park. My only complaint is with the laundry facilities. I seem to be one of the only ones in my building that doesn't have a washer/dryer hook-up and our laundry building is never in good shape. Last week one of the dryers made my clothes smell like skunk, so I had to take all of my clothes to a laundromat to rewash them. Caitlin is always so positive and willing to help out. read more

FUTURE TENANTS BEWARE!! This place is a joke ! It may look nice on the outside but this complex has multiple issues!! 1. The apartments are full of pigeons, bed bugs, roaches, termites and water bugs. I've seen various pigeons living in not only my apartment building roof area but multiple others. THE INSECTS ARE NEVER ENDING!! I've called and complained multiple times and have been told multiple different answers. Ultimately nothing has been done but some random person spraying every other month ! It's to the point I've invested in my own personal PEST CONTROL. 2. They do NOT ask for permission to enter your apartment. 3. There is trash everywhere especially spilling from the complex's dumpsters! 4. AIR CONDITIONERS OR HEATERS ARE ALWAYS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. The Reserve recently sent out an email about the recent AC unit problems stating tenants should not run their 'washer and dryers or dishwashers during the day'. Well that did not solve the problem ... my AC unit is still down! I'm currently waiting on maintenance for the 4th time this month ! Not to mention my heater is always going out in the winter months ! 5. BOTH POOLS ARE ALWAYS DOWN OR NOT MONITORED PROPERLY! I recently took my kids to the pool and it was full of people that were not residents. I understand that happens but there were broken beer bottles at the bottom of the pool, babies in diapers, dogs, and people openly smoking marijuana while in the pool ! 6. LEASE AGREEMENTS ARE ALWAYS CHANGING AND NOT BEING FOLLOWED! This place makes things up as they go along. My neighbors are forced to move due to The Reserve deciding not to renew their lease for multiple late payments. But the policy was NOT LISTED IN THEIR LEASE! Once they asked for an legitimate reason for not renewing their lease ALEX (leasing agent) stated "we don't have to give anyone a reason to vacate our properties. We are in the process of renovations and would like to eliminate anyone who cannot afford our new commodities " 7. The Reserve will also raise the rent $50-$80 every year you decide to stay ! I came in paying $625 now I'm paying $758 not including Water, sewer or trash. 8. ELECTRIC BILLS ARE SKY HIGH THE APARTMENTS ARE NOT PROPERLY INSULATED!! Last year I paid a $1300 electric bill ! Due to my apartment not being properly weatherized! KCP&L made a recommendation for new windows and proper insulation for my apartment. This would help reduce how much my AC/Heater is running to cut down costs. The Reserve denied the request and suggested that I "close my blinds and curtains during the day ". I WILL NOT BE RENEWING MY LEASE!! I only stayed here to keep my kids in the North KC school district ! 9. I noticed that Jamie Jacob has left a review complimenting the apartment complex. She is currently the property manager and leaves positive reviews to boost the star ratings. That's a very dishonest marketing technique. The front office staff changes every other week. Each employee (except Amanda) lack professionalism and knowledge of their jobs. You'll get various different answers to your questions regarding your lease. 10. The gym they offer is a wreck. Most of the equipment is outdated and barely works. There is always something missing like hand sanitizer, paper towels, soap, room to workout and WORKING EQUIPMENT. 11. No clubhouse 12. Crime.. the police are out here all the time for THEFTS and domestic violence. And the complex had it least 5 sex offenders living out here due to the radius from a school and parks ! I've just recently moved in but am loving it so far!!! The upgraded apartment is beautiful!! The staff has been extremely helpful and patient answering all the questions I had. Amanda has been great to work with. They really make this journey an exciting one. It's in a perfect location as well. I don't think things could've gone any smoother. Just recently moved in and I love it so far! My neighbors are friendly and some of them introduced themselves right away. The staff is friendly as well and they helped me get a place with 3 days notice. I unexpectedly had to move quickly and I inquired on a Wednesday and moved in that Saturday! This place sucks. Maintenance is terrible! As off Today, they cut off thee water for the entire C side apartments, and t won't be back on till 10:00pm. That's 5 hours with no running water!!!! There are no ceiling lights. SO you have to go out and buy a bunch of fans! Yup!!! This place is ooooold. Half of our drawers were painted shut! and SNOW REMOVAL! HAAA! THEY'LL LET YOU BE SNOWED IN FOR 2 DAYS BEFORE THEY DO ANYTHING! WE SHOVEL OUR OWN STUFF. One time we had a storm, and a branch was blocking the entire 1 way in 1 way out entrance to our side of the apartments! They man had to get his own ax and chop down the tree, just to get to work! The whole place smells like poop! The dog owners take their dogs and let them poop all over the place, sometimes right out your door, and never pick it up. That smell is atrocious. I made two paragraphs already and that ain't even the half of it! They got the nerve to raise the rent $25 every year, but ain't do no improvements. You have to beg them to send out the repair people. read more

Friend lived there for one year and had a list of complaints. The biggest one was that the mailbox lock was broken when he moved in, he put in work tickets and they would close the work tickets as "Fixed" even though the mailbox was still broken. The mailbox was wide open to everyone and anyone and his mail was stolen constantly. They don't respond to any issues that you have while living here. (It's still broken to this day, so if you want to steal mail, just walk to the apartment's mail room.) Icy and snowy? Good luck walking down slippery stairs. The only building they'll salt is their office building. They allow a towing company to go and slap on these permanent stickers to your car that will leave sticker residue on your car forever. Laundry roomS are what they advertise. They'll advertise that all the way up until you move in. Then when you've signed everything, they notify you there's only one laundry room. And only 2 of the dryers work. The others will take your money and spin your clothes around, leaving them wet and cold. Gym facility? LOL. The equipment is literally hazardous in the second gym building. Frayed wires that are barely able to hang on to the weight. The machines are a couple lifts away from snapping a cable and taking someone's eye out. Stay away from them. For the price, there are way better options out there. If you ignore this review and go ahead and move in, good luck! It's gonna be a long year of dealing with BS. read more

I have a handicapped parking spot and in the winter they "plowed" the side walks but it was plowed over the the sign. Thankfully you could still see it so I got the spot but there was so much snow piled up on the sign that I couldnt walk over the big mound so I I had to walk farther. I have a walking disability. Then once the snow melted the sign fell and it took about two months to get the sign back up while I had to hope for a close parking spot. Everytime I said something they said tomorrow. I love my apartment! The layout is spacious and homey! The neighborhood is great and a short drive to everything in Kansas City! Terrible place to live. 3 different management in less than a year speaks for itself. Rude leasing agents. Deceptive lease agreements that are designed to rape your pockets when move out time comes. Zero communication with tenants. Their line of communication with tenants entails living a posted note on the apartment door that is exposed to outside elements. Often blowing away in the wind. High electric bills due to outdated appliances(A/c). Almost paid 200 dollars a month for a one bedroom apartment during the summer. That is equivalent to cooling about a 5 bedroom house. NEVER RENT HERE. Cheap rent attracting lower income people, and these lower income people are taken advantage because they do not have the money to fight this place legally when screwed over. read more
