    Comfy couch for catching up

Amazing experience and a special shout out to Marbella for making it even more so. Clean, convenient, and comfortable. Everything we were looking for and more. Spacious rooms at a reasonable rate plus the added bonus of free parking, free WiFi, and free breakfast. Win the immortal words of the Governator, "I'll be back."

For a one-night rest up stop, this is a decent spot. The staff are very friendly & the location is conveniently located near plenty of food options.. The breakfast is good if you get in there early, but it doesn't remain well stocked or hot after 8am. Sadly, the coffee was lukewarm at best at 8:05 AM. Pro-Tip: Avoid buildings 16 thru 19.. Having stayed here previously, the routine seems to be this is the side of the property where folks who enjoy getting high in the parking lot are assigned rooms... Sadly, this same area where the terrific dog space is located. Also, PARK in front overnight for best security. The only visible security cameras are in front & the area is visible from the front desk.. FYI -- Priority room assignment for lifetime Gold-Elite members & Platinum owners doesn't seem to be a thing....

Honestly when you're on a long road trip and need a homey place to stay and rest for the night this hotel is the go to place. The beds are comfy and its basically a whole apartment and everything was really clean.

Razor cap in the shower really??? Also no scrub to clean the gunk?

If I could give it 1 star I would. From prostitution outside on the street to walking in and how each outlet was broken. Also staring outside has better entertainment than the tv because it's broken. Do decided to take a shower and to my surprise dirty! If I could run a black light it probably would be really dirty. But instead we left! Do not stay here!

I stayed at this Residence Inn for one night but although the guy at the front desk was VERY nice, I did not stay again. I arrived after having chatted within the Bonvoy app but when I arrived, the guy was about to put me in the exact kind of room placement that I had said I DID not want. He was kind and quickly changed it. I went to the room which was very conveniently located near the hotel lobby and next to the parking lot so I could easily get to my room with my luggage. When I went into the room, I was pleased at how cute it was and clean! I unpacked and went to bed. This is when the problems started. The room was FREEZING. No matter how many times I put the temperature up to 73, it would go back down to 70. The other thing that was happening is I guess the hotel is located on a known place to drag race, drift, and burn rubber. It kept happening over and over. I finally called the front desk and the guy was so kind. He came to the room and overrode the temperature. He said that the heater is set to turn off when no motion is detected and it is my job to tell the front desk if I want to control the temperature. I have never heard of such a thing and I lived at a Residence Inn for a few months in SAN RAMON! Plus what kind of motion do they expect when people are asleep? So, about the drag racing, the guy told me that it would stop soon. I figured that was a line but he was right! Around 11 it did stop as did the kid who was running up and across the floor in the room above me. Surprisingly, I slept very well! The bed was not that comfortable but it was ok. I slept right through breakfast because it ended at 9 and there was no way I would wake up! I would not stay there again because of all the drama but still thought it was ok because the front desk clerk was a doll! I don't remember his name but he did share that his mom was in a car accident so if you are a manager reading this, ask around. He deserves a raise. He is the best! Such a caring person.

We stayed here as a quick overnight from a long road trip. Coming from the Residence Inn in Arizona, we thought it would be pretty similar. In fact, this was not the case. This particular property is very very old and feels like a 2 star property. I had an issue with my key card. The reader doesn't work well so you have to jiggle your key. Also, when you close the door, it will not shut on its own. Make sure you slam it and check that it's locked. But beware, there are spider webs and spider nests along the outside of the door frames. So be careful! When you first walk into your room, you will wonder what that funky smell is. Rest assured, it's probably all the scents collected in the popcorn ceiling. The property is noisy and the lights in the room kept flickering in kitchen for over an hour each time it was turned on. Even with all the lights on, the room is very dark. The carpet is old so don't walk around barefooted. Make sure you have shoes on. The kitchen was spacious but everything was dated. The kitchenware stuff looks like it's from the 80s or 90s. The drawer was missing most all the utensils and the few that was there were rusted. The red bar/dining chairs were actually dirty when we arrived. There was a lot of crumbs in the seams. This makes me wonder if the cleaning crew actually clean and sanitize during COVID-19. The bed skirt had red stains on it near the nightstand and the airvents above the bathroom door was thick and filthy. It was nice that the property offered hot breakfast but when we went to the lobby to pick it up, it was a bag of microwave food that was actually unhealthy and unappetizing. We ended up getting a nice breakfast at Panera Bread across the street. Even though it's an old property, I feel like there is a lack of attention to detail. We just don't understand how this place is unlike the other residence inns we've been at.

When I arrived to check in, they were having computer issues but were able to get my room fairly quickly. Requested something very basic for my visit, extra pillows. I made the request via the Bonvoy app. They failed to deliver. I also had an uninvited room guest, a nice big cockaroach (photo attached). Nothing like getting ready for bed and having to chase down a cockarocah. I just kept thinking, how many friends did he bring with him? I know this property is pet friendly, but did not realize elephants were allowed. I was awoken by what sounded like a family of elephants at 4am. The guests in the room above me sounded like they were playing trampoline on the floor. The free breakfast was ehhh. I was actually looking forward to my visit here, but was very disappointed.

Pro tip: Stay somewhere else if you have the choice. Staff is very nice, the hotel is not. Not a good part of town. Oh my, where to start. How are there 5 star reviews of this place? At first glance, this seemed like a decent place. The lobby was nice enough. The staff is all incredibly nice. Downhill from there... There were spider webs everywhere outside the door and stairs. The room itself looked clean until you looked closer. I wonder how they managed to "sanitize for COVID" but not actually clean? The previous guests clearly had a dog with them. There was dried blood in the bathroom. The desk chair was nasty. The bar stools were sticky. The crib was full of crumbs and dog hair. The street commerce is discrete but definitely there. If you've never seen a drug deal or a prostitute working, you might not notice it. It seems like most of the guests have insurance or the city paying for their stay. I've stayed/lived in many Residence Inns. Marriott should be ashamed that their name is on this hotel.

I must say this was my first time actually staying in Bakersfield and I was honestly surprised that…read morethe Marriott was completely booked! Granted it looked like all construction workers because there was nothing else but oversized trucks in their parking lot! My fiancé Googled "clean hotel without bed bugs" and Padre Hotel came up first! Their online reviews were great and we were exhausted and needed to rest! We pulled into their valet parking just to drop off our things. As my fiancé parked the car, across the street in the over night garage, I was able to get a Single King room on a Monday night for $159. As we walked into our room #701, it was rather small, but fine since it was just the two of us. As I sat on the bed, it was actually hard! Yay!!!! I can't STAND soft beds and rather sleep on the floor! Haha no joke! Then my fiancé went into the restroom and suddenly he tapped on something glass sounding as I was turning ing on the tv..... I noticed there was a curtain by the bed, so I pulled it across and lo and behold by the bed was the shower and just a curtain the person from the outside of the shower could open/close as they please..... hee. We also had a mini fridge in the room along with a desk and chair. We had planned on staying one night, but got inside LA, and we figured we'd extend our stay. Upon doing so, we went downstairs the next day and asked if there was a deal if we could stay 3-4 days, and sure enough there was!!!! It's always great to see what happens once you ask! Hee. We got a larger room with a corner room location, I forgot the room number, but the restroom was larger and had a separate wall between the toilet and shower area, so if someone was in the shower, someone else could use the toilet and not be seen. This longer hotel room also had a chaise lounge chair and a better view of their downtown area, granted a lot of the places have closed. Overall, I honestly loved our stay here! It reminded me of a county version of The Fairmont SF! They constantly played new aged country music in the lobby! Then on Fridays and Saturdays there was a live band or singer in the bar area! I love how they had a community aspect to the hotel with some local live entertainment!!! My fiancé also loved watching The Knicks play on the bar tv with other people at the bar! Hee. Oh and they had an adorable coffee shop that made Ready To Order items downstairs too! See my review at Farmacy Cafe, but too freaking too! Country SHREK! Hee We will definitely be back again!!!!!

The estate itself is available to rent out for family reunions, a romantic getaway, or ladies retreat weekends. They can also accommodate events...weddings, quincenearas, corporate events, fundraisers, school proms, etc. Almost any size event or experience can be accommodated. The owners, Frank and Sanam, are very warm and welcoming. They are perfectionists who want to make your experience the absolute best it can be. The home itself is ... wow ... just wow. Magnificent. You pull into the gated drive, there is a beautiful fountain roundabout. Double doors welcome you into the foyer and you are immediately awed by a grand double staircase leading to the second floor. There are so many beautiful and functional living spaces, a pool table, chefs kitchen (perfect for a cooking demonstration experience or wine tasting event), plenty of set up space for caterers and other event staff to unload and organize, a magnificent custom built dining table with velvet brocade chairs, more crystal chandeliers than I could count! My husband would die for the full theater room (complete with three rows of comfy reclining chairs and cozy blankets). Upstairs there are four Juliet balconies overlooking the 20 acre estate and lake. Every bedroom suite has its own bathroom and sitting areas. The master suite has a two way fireplace so you can bask in the warmth in bed and in the sitting area. The master bathroom has a massive shower and bathtub. The bridal suite features a custom sitting area, three salon quality stations, a huge gilded mirror. No detail has been spared for their guests comfort. There are graceful winding stairs leading down to the courtyard from the bridal suite...imagine the entrance a bride could make descending the stairs while attendants rained down rose petals from the balcony! The venue offers many wedding packages, including an all inclusive package...relax and everything is taken care of for you! Plus, you can honeymoon right there on the estate. Wow! Outdoors there are areas for soccer, tennis, a pool, outdoor sitting areas, barbecue area, strung lights, a beautiful gazebo draped in mature wisteria. Oh, and did I mention that there is a PRIVATE LAKE! There are fish in the lake and you are welcome to bring your fishing pole! There is a boat loading dock. The sunsets from the Juliet balcony in the bridal suite are awe inspiring. There are so many amazing possibilities for this beautiful place. Whether you are planning a romantic tête-à-tête, a dance party (no noise restrictions or curfew!), a corporate event, or pampering weekend for you and your girls, or the wedding of your dreams this is the place! I am hoping to hold a fundraiser here next year for a non-profit organization and can't wait to plan it! I hope you are able to come out and plan your event, big or small. Absolutely stunning versatile venue, stellar customer service and genuinely nice owner/operators.
