Okay here's my "Beef" I was checked into a room that knowingly had no hot water! At 65%occupancy this was unacceptable. I did not have time the first morning to deal with it, work trip. I also thought maybe it was just a busy time when I wanted to shower. Life goes on. The second day it was worse! Ice cold at 5 am. Worked all day came back in the afternoon looking forward to a hot shower at 4 pm ish. Figured there has to be water now... let it run for 20 minutes nope ice cold! Aaargh! When I stopped at the desk to inform them it was clear that they knew about the water situation. They did offer me another room however I was leaving early next day and didn't want the hassle of packing and moving for one night! Yes the staff was nice. Yes the hotel was clean yada yada...but they informed me that they had ordered and were waiting on parts. Come on! What the Heck? I never should have been put in this room and I know Marriott's standards of operation require them to block off rooms that are under any repair! read more

Nice clean hotel with pool and hot tub. Room is good size and I liked the layout. It was a big room for only sleeping in but it was a fair price and good location near food, entertainment and stores. Plus I get Marriott points for traveling. Staff was friendly and always had a smile. Breakfast is typical breakfast for hotels but they did have fresh sliced fruit and cheese and other items. I don't eat that much for breakfast so it's okay for me. What really impressed me was the water pressure. Lots of water pressure and heat. A good shower in the morning just starts the day right. read more

Staying here concluded my trip to MT. My check in was handled by Chris, and he was so very helpful. My room was huge! It had the typical kitchen for a Residence Inn, living room with pull-out couch, bathroom and separate bedroom. I loved that my room had a fireplace. The temp in the room was perfect. To adjust, just push and hold on the buttons for about 5 seconds and then you can change the temp. I loved that the sink was outside of the bathroom so two people could get ready at once. The breakfast spread offered a good deal of options and I enjoyed everything I had (no fresh options). Breakfast is open to all, no Marriott status needed! The location of this hotel is odd. It's kind of in the middle of nowhere, but next to another Marriott hotel. After exploring the area a bit more, there are a few restaurants within a 3-minute drive. However, the restaurants are chains and you aren't going to enjoy an impressive meal. Parking here is free and easy. I never had a problem finding a spot. This hotel is fresh and modern with a lovely lobby and pool. You will enjoy your stay here, but be sure to get a room only on the top floor to avoid noise from above. read more

The staff was rude and not very nice. The room was ok/average. I left an item in the room and asked them to please charge my credit card and mail it back to me. The person says we don't do that go buy a shipping label and I said i wasn't sure how to do that. She goes just go buy a shipping label I said I don't have the weight or dimensions of the item. For 8,000 points and $55 pre tax, I stayed here one night. I tend to start Residence Inns at 3 stars because let's face it, they aren't a Marriott Marquis with a club. There are no perks for gold members, and your status isn't recognized upon check in. I know I should like a snot, but staying 50 nights/yr to earn gold status is no easy feat! The room was a standard Residence Inn with a fully stocked kitchenette, full size fridge/freezer, living room, fireplace, etc. I do like the setup because it doesn't feel like you're traveling when you're in an apartment. Free parking and wifi are available. I docked a star for cleanliness (previous guest's trash in the bin) and breakfast. The poor Canadian bacon was pathetic as it dryly withered. The bananas were so bruised they were inedible. Luckily I didn't get sick, but the concern passed through my mind as I ate. I should note Marriott is the hardest to earn elite status - 50 nights for gold (2nd level) compared to Hilton (30 stays for highest level) and Hyatt (60 nights for highest level). I have to say that this Marriott had a few minor moments of discomfort, but overall we had a few select people who really made our stay a wonderful experience and that's what made it a five star experience for us. We stayed about 2 or 3 weeks ago during the week. Originally, I hadn't planned on booking a hotel. We helped some friends with their cross country move and drove through the first night switching drivers. We realized the 2nd day everyone was irritable and cranky, so we really needed to stop and stay somewhere. I looked on my Marriott app and this hotel was showing up as completely booked. We had a dog with us and needed this specific Marriott type. When we called, the front desk guy was able to find us a room and a very reasonable rate! It was a huge relief. Arrival was nice as our room was super clean. They got my notes about having the sofa bed made up for the kids staying with us, so that rocked. I especially loved the popcorn. We needed a snack! The 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite was perfect because we were able to put each couple in a room and the kids on the sofa and it didn't feel crowded. We got personal space. The breakfast was full, appealing, and had a nice variety, even iced coffee! The staff in here was very kind and one of them even brought the dog a treat. They also were really engaging with the kids, so that was super sweet. We would totally stay here again. It was really charming and had lots of amenities. read more

This is the first place I've ever seen a half court (basketball) at a hotel. Pretty cool for kiddos or players. There's an indoor pool. Pretty large and all to yourself. There's laundry facilities that I was happy about bec I needed to do laundry. The units were pretty clean. I bought laundry soap at the receptionist desk, but someone left a whole pod container....It was $1.75 each wash and it took $3 to dry one load at high temp. We had to wait about 30 minutes to get into our room so it gave us something to do. The room 318 was pretty clean. I'm sick so it was our first time in a 2 bd suite. The room I ended up in, the tv didn't work, the 2 lights and outlets on the bed didn't work either. The a/c was set at 66, but never came on once. I called down at 12:30am after sweating and the young lady couldn't assist me so she said I could walk down and get a fan....I got dressed and went down. Plugging in the fan was when I discovered the lights and plugs on bed do not work. Went down to eat (which was your basic breakfast offerings). The lady cooking, cleaning, etc was so friendly I left a thank you. And everyone has been so friendly! Came upstairs to 2 gentlemen trying to fix a/c unit. 3 of them kept trying to get it work while we were finishing up our stay-love that they were trying to get it cool for us :-) We ended up leaving room 15 minutes late due to a work zoom meeting hubby was on. That's why we are here. Hubby added a ginger ale and took awhile for the front desk agent to get it to charge and print our copy. That was a missed opportunity for the young lady to gift it to him for our hassles or throw some points or a discount or something to his account. It's not too late, Marriott! His name is Phillip Nelson of Long Beach, Ca. Haha! Anyway, upon leaving seen 2 of the gentlemen and it sounded like the unit needs replaced and the lights, plugs, tv was just a breaker. We thought even though this wasn't a great stay-we would stay again and do recommend them! Everyone was friendly. We will be back bec this is his work territory :-) I really cannot stress how friendly EVERYONE was, from front desk, to housecleaning, to maintenance, EVERYONE!!!! read more

Be smart. You have lots of choices to stay somewhere else. They checked someone else into our room. They didn't clean room one day and blamed a shortage of staff. They tried to lie about all of the above upon check out. Run folks run. I'm assuming this is a "Marriott" area way of doing things so be smart and chose a different brand with higher standards. read more

Arrived early in the morning around 8am and asked if it was possible to check in early and the receptionist with blonde hair tied up and glasses was nice and let us check in and also told us to grab breakfast. The two people who were managing the dining area were also nice and kept everything running smoothly and also cleared our dishes promptly. We had a one bed and a pullout. The room was clean and spacious. It was nice to have a full kitchen with soap and sponge etc. and full size refrigerator. Price wise at the time was on par with hotels at this level but all you get is a mini fridge and microwave. Sure there are cheaper places but it's what your threshold is. read more

I stayed here for a couple of weeks during work travel. The staff is very friendly and makes sure you are taken care. Always take advantage of the free Otis Spunkmeier cookies they offer throughout the day. The rooms are very nice and are kind of like small apartments. A full kitchen with all the tools and equipment are available. It is certainly a nice place to relax and have a somewhat home feel to it. The room I had included a nice big flat screen TV. Some of the great perks of staying here are the complimentary breakfast daily and dinner eats Mon-Thur. The dinner is also complimentary that runs from 6 to about 7:30. A very sweet and nice lady sets the mini-buffet up and welcomes the guests. Food changes daily and a menu is posted in the rooms. Free beer and wine are also complimentary to relax after a hard day's work. Breakfast items include both hot and cold items such as eggs, potatoes, cereal, and various baked items. Free internet Wi-Fi access is also a great benefit. A lot of hotels these days make customers charge quite a bit to use each day. I was able to use my I-Touch to surf the internet as often as I would like. For those who are frequent guests, they have a rewards program that is worth signing up for. Laundry facilities are available and costs about a few bucks for a couple of loads to use. They do have a pool and a small workout center too, but no sauna. The staff a the Billings Residence Inn does just that! From the minute I walked in the door to the minute I walked out, I felt like any need, care, or concern I had, the staff would address it immediately. They consistently went above and beyond and were super friendly. The gentleman, Ben, that works at the front desk, made a great first impression. Friendly staff. Clean room. There was a little construction at the entrance, but it was not too much of an inconvenience. There is laundry facilities available. Last time I stayed here, trash was left in the hallway for days and I repeatedly requested my room to be cleaned? Yes that's a question mark, because this is not what is expected from this level of hotel. This time, everyday it was something. Coffee, towels, soap. So disappointed with this hotel, after booking the same chain in another city we thought we would have as good of an experience. Unfortunately the thermostat isn't working. The bed isn't as comfortable and the air conditioning unit located in the closet next to the bed is so loud you can barely even hear the tv. It's much smaller than the Sioux Falls rooms and not even close to as accommodating. read more

Worst customer service and communication ability I have ever experienced. We were emailed by Marriott that our room would be available at 3 pm. When we called around 12:30 pm we asked if we could receive an early check-in. The front desk told us they wouldn't have our room ready until 4. We asked them to call us once our room became available. We received no call, so we showed up at 4. Now we were told the guests in our room hadn't left yet so we would have to wait until 5. We asked them for a concession as far as price is concerned. They wouldn't budge and were rude. Then I offered constructive criticism about communication and that their email confirmation stated we could check in at 3. They said "not our problem" and said they would call when our room was ready. They never called. We called back at 5 to cancel outright and get a refund. The general manager said they couldn't give a refund because we had prepaid. We said that wasn't true. She finally admitted that she could give us a refund but would not because of the way they were approached about their lack of customer service. A truly awful experience read more

Ok, so I have read through some of the reviews for this Hotel and I have to admit that if one is just staying for one or two nights, this might seem like a great place to stay. Our experience, however, was much, much different. After a fire in our home we were put up at the Residence for almost two months. At first the staff was great. We did love the breakfast. The staff is far from professional. We had jewelry stolen from our room and no one would give us a straight answer as to who was in the room. We constantly got the run a round. On several occasions I overheard the staff complaining about the f'n guest in room such and such, and complaints about what a pig was in room... and so forth. Other than the great breakfast, this hotel really is a mess. Very unprofessional. On last thing, is the hot tub fixed yet? We were told it would be every day for two months. read more

Good breakfast, central location! Downside: we were in room 417 for four nights over Christmas and every morning at 9am our entire room shook like there was an earthquake. Really, really nice Residence Inn! New, well appointed, and super comfortable. Our room was spacious and clean. The bathroom seemed new and fresh, and I loved that the sink was separate from the toilet/shower area because it made getting dressed in the morning faster for my dad and me. This hotel is unfortunately very poorly managed. We arrived at the hotel at 4:30 in the afternoon, only to find that our reservation that was made well in advance for a two bedroom suite was changed by a manager to two far apart studio rooms without any thought being given to first consulting us. Once we got to the rooms, we found that one door did not open. After getting replacement keycards from the front desk twice, we managed to get into the room without knowing that was the last time that door would open. After waiting for nearly 2 hours for the door to be fixed, during which time no managers bothering to show up to handle the situation or even to apologize, we demanded our items to be brought out even if it meant taking down the door. They somehow managed to do so and we promptly left this hotel for the Hilton next door. Long story short, avoid this place if you can until they have better management and get their act together. read more

Decent hotel, clean, in a relatively quiet location away from the freeway near Costco and Home Depot. Some decent restaurants are nearby. I am a Marriott platinum so I try to use Marriott properties. Check in was very slow, as only one person was at the counter and there were multiple phone calls on hold. I waited almost 15 minutes to check in. Check in was very smooth otherwise. One major demerit: a large motor would turn off and on constantly: 45 seconds off, 15 seconds on. I'm thinking it was a large rooftop vent fan for the swimming pool building located next to the lodging building, but I'm not sure. I'm amazed that a hotel would tolerate a loud nighttime noisemaker next to a building where all their customers are sleeping. I did not eat in the hotel but did make a pot of coffee in the morning - I liked the coffee. Parts of the sidewalk in front of the hotel were very icy and there was no evidence that the hotel had put down melter or sand. But it's Montana. read more

Staff was friendly, especially the various people serving the breakfast. Room was nice, but the air conditioning was very noisy and the couch was not comfortable at all, hard as a rock. We had two rooms and stayed five nights and the Internet was down the whole time until I checked it on our last night, and then it was lightning fast. Evidently it was up earlier in the day but we weren't there until night time. They were nice enough to give both our rooms a 20% discount on the room rate for four out of the five nights we were there. Our last night they forgot to turn off the patio music, I had to call the front desk at midnight to ask them to turn it off. Most of the breakfast food was good, except overcooked and rubbery waffle potatoes and dried out and chewy Canadian bacon. Never served real bacon, which I missed immensely. Real oatmeal and the biscuits and gravy were divine. Convenient location,I would consider staying there again. However, there are many more hotels in Billings now than when I was there years ago so there are a lot of good choices. read more
