This was the nicest Residence Inn I've ever stayed at! I'm actually in search of a hotel for a block of rooms for my upcoming wedding and I so wish that I could magically transport this hotel to where I need one. I was in the area for the holidays as my partner's family is from the Valley. I don't know much about the area but felt like we were in a good location for everything that we needed. It was super accessible to the airport, an HEB, a Starbucks and an Orangetheory Fitness. When I didn't want to leave the hotel because it was raining or didn't want to make the same mistake of driving in the wrong direction on a one way street (yikes), I didn't need to. The on-site gym was open 24 hours and had a treadmill, an elliptical machines, weights, water, and towels. The on-site and complimentary breakfast and coffee was decent (tortillas would have been nice though). And I even noticed on my room fridge a sign that said the would pick up some groceries for me if I needed. I don't know if the grocery service is true of all Residence Inn's but if not, it aligns with my experience here with the staff that was super friendly and accommodating. read more

I stayed a lot of hotels in South Texas mostly Hilton's. Our company recently changed and wants us to start staying in Marriotts. So on a trip to Harlingen I checked into the Residence Inn right next to the Bass Pro Shops. Not only was the location a plus, due to Bass Pro shops being on the same parking lot, the hotel is much newer and in much better condition than the Hilton I normally stay in. Everything was high quality from my check in experience, the evening reception with food beer and wine, to the workout room which had not only treadmills but free weights as well. This far outshined the Hampton Inn that I normally stay in on Ed Carey Drive. This is a really nice hotel at a reasonable price and I would recommend to anyone: clean, quiet, comfortable, and very dark window shades to be able to sleep at night as well as in a very quiet location. read more

So we decided to stay here this weekend (we were part of a large group of volunteers cleaning out flooded houses for folks) based on reviews. The exterior appearance is great as is the interior appearance. Our room (a one room suite) was in excellent condition. Everything is fairly modern and up-to-date. There was plenty of space in the room and everything was very comfortable. The shower was great! I'd have to say that overall it's the best property we've stayed at in the Valley and it's probably in the top 3 ever for a Residence Inn. The few downsides - the breakfast bar had NO bacon or sausage - I've never experienced that in thirty years of staying in hotels. While I understand why they have refried beans (which I do like), the omission of a breakfast meat was very disappointing. In the back (where most cars park) there is a noticeable smell - either sewage or trash. The only other 'down' (and it's minor) is that the TV has no 'guide' channel. The staff were all pleasant and the housekeeping staff did a great job. We didn't get a chance to use the pool but it looked inviting. Overall, I'd give it a 4.5 and would stay here again. read more

I only stay at Marriott or Hilton properties when I travel for business, and I have always been a fan of Residence Inn. This has to be the greatest Residence Inn that I have ever stayed at. I only stayed one night, and I flew in from Houston and got to the hotel around 8:00pm. I was hungry and tired, and the front desk clerk that checked me in has to be the greatest front desk clerk int eh history of front desk clerks. He took his time and explained everything to me. This guy wasn't going through the motions, and looking at his watch counting down when his shift was ending, it was as if he was the owner of this hotel, and I was his guest for the night. Extremely impressed. Now, this is a new hotel, but you would have thought they opened two weeks ago. This hotel is spotless. The grounds, the lobby, the elevators, and my hotel room. I had way to much space for a quick one night stay, but my hotel room perfect. The breakfast at each Residence Inn is about the same, but the quality, presentation, and cleanliness is superior. The hotel is ok. Clean But lacks attention to detail. Plant in lobby outside elevators had been uprooted and remained that way during my stay. My room was nice and quite very spacious but trim is coming off lights next to bed, hanging loosely. But here's the kicker.... Breakfast was dirty. Unkept and not well stocked. Out of milk out of tortilla no meat. Not near what you expect or pay for in upgraded room prices for a breakfast. read more

This is a newer hotel and is well appointed, but between the noise my refrigerator made and the deliveries at the back of the building, it was noisy. The refrigerator made random noises in the night... and maybe during the day too but I wasn't there. And since it's an open plan, there's no way to get away from it. I tried fiddling with the doors and the temperature in the middle of the night and that help a bit. Then there were the delivery trucks to the back of the building. They literally vibrated the windows in my room. Otherwise my room was clean and the staff was great. But a noisy room makes for rough sleep. I was glad to be home after 3 nights. read more

I really enjoyed my stay here with my fiancé while visiting family in harlingen ! it was in pretty nice area and very easy access to the freeway . I loved the room so much as well as the bathroom . the floor plan and designs were just amazing . it definitely does not feel like a hotel and more like a small apartment . really all the small details about the rooms were thought-out so nicely . the only thing I would say it it would be nice if the breakfast times were posted somewhere in the room or as a reminder , it doesn't seem to have breakfast times anywhere online on the websites and the desk receptionist did fail to let us know what time breakfast started at the beginning of our stay. however other than that everything about the hotel was lovely and I would definitely stay here again and willing to stay at a residence inn around my hometown just for the heck of it read more

Really great people working the front desk! The rooms were clean and spacious and the bathroom was huge. The only issue was the scary, screaming ac unit, it was so loud it would wake me up at night. But even so, it was worth it! Great place!! Edit: So after a short stay at another hotel we ended up coming back here and I'm so glad we did! My favorite hotel in Harlingen to date. It is right off the highway and is beside the generally well lit Bass Pro Shop as well as a Cracker Barrel, Longhorn Steak House, and Sam's Club. It is about a 20 min drive from the Harlingen airport. It is my understanding this is a fairly new hotel in town (built earlier this year?), so everything is new and fresh. They serve a complimentary hot breakfast and on certain weekdays host social hours with appies. The rooms I have stayed in are like mini suites with nice kitchenettes and couches. This is where I stay almost every time I am in Harlingen. read more

Honestly, we weren't too thrilled with our stay here. #1. The room we reserved was a king suite, but when we arrived the 'only room left' was the handicap room. Not usually how reservations work, especially for business travel. Everything in the room was 2-3 feet lower than normal, NOTHING resembled their pictures and the handicap seat in the shower was literally falling out of the wall. #2. Our room was by the basketball court and we could hear kids playing basketball and the door to the side entrance slamming at all hours. #3. One morning breakfast wasn't out at the scheduled time and a 15 minute wait didn't yield any results. The next morning, at the same time all of the food was already gone and it was obvious they had no intentions of restocking. It was a nice hotel, but we will most likely look for somewhere else to stay on the next trip. read more

Very horrible experience with this hotel!! I had a reservation with a confirmation number got to the hotel that day fairly late 1015 pm and they tell me they don't have my reservation the They tell me never mind someone cancelled it. Myself nor my booking company cancelled the stay. Of course the hotel was completely booked that night so they didn't have any available rooms. They never took ownership of the mistake and never did anything to try to make the situation right. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is due to the awesome service the front counter person Sean gave. I however am still highly disappointed. read more

Very pleased with our experience at the Marriott. Very clean and comfortable. Plenty of sleeping space especially if traveling with the kiddos. We had a king bed and a pull out couch so the kiddos fit just fine.I don't usually expect much when it comes to complimentary breakfast but the breakfast is amazing. They have a wide variety of food (waffles, oatmeal, eggs, breakfast meats, fruit, yogurts, breads, etc.). For the beverages they have the typical fruit juices, coffees, teas and iced coffee (yum!). Exceptional customer service by the entire staff. Will definitely be back whenever we're back in the area! read more

Absolutely fantastic. We had a King suite corner room. The room was very clean and well maintained. The furniture was modern and very comfortable. Staff was welcoming and informative upon arriving and leaving. If I had to really dig for a flaw, I can only think of one (and it's not even worth deducting anything) The bedroom door should have been put on the opposite side. It is impossible to watch tv in the bedroom with the door open. The door opens into the dresser and tv. I will definitely stay here next time I am in the area. read more

This place was excellent in every aspect: super friendly and welcoming staff; very clean, spacious and comfortable rooms; great beds/pillows; very quiet during my one eve/night; huge shower; nice small workout room; free drinks (beer, wine and Sangria) and hor d'oeurves in the eve; and (surprisingly) really good complementary buffet breakfast (esp eggs and bacon). Good central location as well - many restaurants and plentiful shopping (including Bass Pro Shops, mall, Target, etc) within 1/4 mile. I don't particularly like to travel for work, but this place made my recent trip much more pleasant. read more

I stayed here for two nights in July 2017 with a last minute booking for my grandma's funeral. The experience was great. Night desk did not get his name was also very friendly. Rooms were great and clean . Pros: Spacious room (Studio, 1 king, sofa bed) with lots of storage and counters. Comfy bed. Large desk, plenty of electrical outlets. Large tv. Ironing board. Didn't use it but they have a fully stocked kitchen (glassware, plates, pots/pans, toaster, stovetop, no oven, microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher.) Decent breakfast - they have salsa for the scrambled eggs, yay! A nice restaurant (Longhorn Steakhouse) is walkable. Plenty of other dining and shopping options close by, and a Cinemark cinema. They do hors d'oeuvres Mon - Wed with wine and beer. Cons: Very poor water flow in shower due to water flow restrictor. The odor of the cleaner they use to mop the floor is overwhelming but eventually dissipates . No room safe. There was mold along grout line in my shower. No bath robes. "High Speed" internet, which is $4.95 per day is not all that great for streaming videos. Conclusion: Would I stay here again? Yes. Hey, it's Harlingen, don't expect the Ritz. There were 4 of us who came to Harlingen for a meeting, independently did our hotel review research, and all ended up staying here so that does say something this this hotel compared to the others. read more

Hands down your best option for a hotel in Harlingen. **if your GPS has trouble locating it try searching for the Bass Pro - it's next door. I travel 365 days a year for work making me familiar with not only the hotel life, but Residence Inns as well. In my opinion Residence Inn's can vary GREATLY. I have stayed in some that were musty and decrepit that felt like an old nursing home to staying and brand new locations in the Pearl district of Portland. What I've noticed through my travels is that every hotel just has a couple small things that don't make it a great stay.. (bad gym equipment, low water pressure, bad maid service) always things that don't drive you crazy, but you wish they could do better. I've been here for 2 months now and the only thing I wish they'd change is adding a bike to the gym. This place is on point! It's only 3 months old as I review this so everything is new.. here are some highlights There is a nice outdoor area that includes a pool, basketball hoop, grill, gas firepit, and seating. The 1 bedroom suites have a full kitchen.. including oven and a separate room with tv with a bed. The single room suites have a small 2 burner stove top, full size fridge, but no oven. Mon-Wed from 6-730pm they have food out (like all residence inn's I've been too). They have self serve wine and two beers on tap. Dos Equis and Bud Light. The staff here is unreal.. they are so friendly and helpful. Really anything they can do to help they will go out of their way to do. I was outside grilling and one of the staff members offered to go to the store and pick up some beer for me! They will basically bring anything to your room.. ice, cooking utensils, etc.. My recommendation is if you're going traveling with someone else get the 1 bedroom suites as the studio can be a little small for two people on an extended stay.. if it's just the weekend just go for the best rate you'll be fine. If you're looking for a less expensive option the Hampton in Harlingen is nice/clean as well. read more

I had a great experience at this hotel. Upon checking in, my room was upgraded to a suite and I was also given a care package (chips, cookies, trail mix, water) for being a Marriott Rewards member. I can't even begin to explain how amazing this hotel is! I have stayed at resorts that cost 10x what we paid, and the residence inn was superior to them in every aspect! First, Ashlynn greeted us and answered our every question. We had an issue with the toilet in our room not working and they moved us rooms right away. Everything was so clean and new! I stayed there last weekend and was glad I picked this hotel! The hotel is brand new (Dec 2014), complimentary breakfast (not the best, but its free so cant complain), free wifi and great customer service. I checked in using the marriott app and had no problems checking in, took about 2 minutes. They text me when my room was ready! Studio king is very spacious, kitchens are nice and come with everything you might need. I will definitely be returning! Tip: GPS could not find address to hotel, but it is located right next to the bass pro shop. So I just typed in that address and no problem finding it. This is a very nice hotel. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. Our room was awesome. This is our second stay here with over a year in between visits. The mixer in the evening was a real plus and who doesn't like free beer and wine. I love the breakfast it has all my favorites. The only downside I have is the shower water pressure is very low. But that's a local utility issue not the hotel. Check this place out you will not be disappointed. read more
