I really like this hotel. The price is good. Great parking and easy to find. Clean and new. Host is super nice and the rooms are perfect. The evening socials are cool too. I prefer to stay here when I come for work. No complaints

My favorite hotel in Harlingen to date. It is right off the highway and is beside the generally well lit Bass Pro Shop as well as a Cracker Barrel, Longhorn Steak House, and Sam's Club. It is about a 20 min drive from the Harlingen airport. It is my understanding this is a fairly new hotel in town (built earlier this year?), so everything is new and fresh. They serve a complimentary hot breakfast and on certain weekdays host social hours with appies. The rooms I have stayed in are like mini suites with nice kitchenettes and couches. This is where I stay almost every time I am in Harlingen.

Honestly, we weren't too thrilled with our stay here. #1. The room we reserved was a king suite, but when we arrived the 'only room left' was the handicap room. Not usually how reservations work, especially for business travel. Everything in the room was 2-3 feet lower than normal, NOTHING resembled their pictures and the handicap seat in the shower was literally falling out of the wall. #2. Our room was by the basketball court and we could hear kids playing basketball and the door to the side entrance slamming at all hours. #3. One morning breakfast wasn't out at the scheduled time and a 15 minute wait didn't yield any results. The next morning, at the same time all of the food was already gone and it was obvious they had no intentions of restocking. It was a nice hotel, but we will most likely look for somewhere else to stay on the next trip.

Very clean, very modern. Makes me wish I lived farther so my stay could be longer. Even the studio rooms have great amenities.

No one in the front desk at 2 am to check in

No one in the front desk to check in at 2am, waiting in the car with 2 kids and 1 baby for more than 40 minutes, really?

So on a trip to Harlingen I checked into the Residence Inn right next to the Bass Pro Shops.

Do yourself a favor and do not eat here. Full stop, move on. We stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday…read moreat noon and the fact that it was absolutely deserted should have tipped us, but we were hungry, on a schedule, and I was determined not to leave Harlingen without having some authentic Mexican food. Sadly, this was NOT that. One slow server and one cook were the only other people in this large establishment, festooned with multicolored Mylar shaped balloons hanging from the ceiling. A large sign by the door offers catering. 8-/ The chips and salsa were delivered first and being hungry, I dove in. It was kind of like diving into the shallow end and stopping quickly. The chips were quite stale and the "salsa" served in a little pitcher was thin, pinkish in color, and hot. Yes, it was spicy but it was also served HOT. Is that a thing down here? We looked at the menu, full of typical fare, and - still hoping for a good experience - ordered lunch specials. My brother and I had the two enchiladas with a crunchy beef taco, refried beans, rice, while our other brother ordered the beef burrito. I also asked the server to bring us some fresh chips. She disappeared behind a door and came out a few minutes later bearing a basket of hot chips. I bit into one and realized they were still stale, she had just heated them up. No thanks. When our food arrived, all three dishes looked pretty much the same, but it's the flavor that counts, right? I took a bite of the puddle of refried beans, which were quite salty and the consistency of baby food. I tried my enchilada - which I discovered was a cheese enchilada - and it was okay but required a knife to cut. The tortilla was tough. The inside cheese was like a sauce that had been painted onto the tortilla. The rice was just orange-colored rice and the crunchy beef taco was unseasoned ground beef in a (probably) store-bought taco shell. I heard from locals this place is pretty busy at night although at noon on a weekday we did not see another soul.

I've attended quite a few events there. I've liked everything about it.... the food was great. I…read moreliked the service and the ambiance! I highly recommend it for any type of event... ie: anniversaries, weddings, birthday celebrations, family or class reunions, etc.!

Fairfield Inn & Suites Harlingen - Spacious breakfast area. Fills up quickly in the mornings

Although this is a new hotel and in great condition, it is one of the worst hotels I have stayed in…read morein years. I travel weekly for work and the people that work here are some of the rudest I have come across. There was 1 lady that worked on the night of 5/7/25 that was friendly, but everyone else during my stay was unnecessarily rude. Some I witnessed being rude to other guests. I landed in Harlingen, exhausted and went to the hotel before check in to see if they had a room ready. If not, I would have just worked in the main area. I was given attitude from the moment I walked in. I explained that I knew it was before the official check in but just wanted to see if they had any rooms ready. At 1st the lady kept looking at papers and ignored me. After several minutes standing there I finally asked if she had a room or not. She then got me checked in. I did not receive a bottle of water or anything at check in as I usually do. I don't have them clean my room so I often need refills of stuff. Anytime I asked for something like a towel or toilet paper I had to explain I did not need my room cleaned, just a refill. The breakfast ladies like to sit or stand by the trash cans and gossip with the morning front desk lady. At 7:30 in the morning, nothing is refilled and when a child made a mess they made no effort to clean it. One breakfast lady likes to order the other around very rudely as well. Not sure why there are 2 at this hotel when 1 does nothing but sit and gossip. It's extremely unprofessional to see and hear them when trying to get and eat breakfast. I ended up taking it back to my room when I saw them there. At one point when I was asking for a washcloth another guest was asking for a bottle of water that she should have gotten at check in. The lady looked her up and told her she wasn't platinum level so she could not get one. There was definitely a better way to handle that. There were multiple people in the lobby and I felt bad for her. Another guest and I looked at each other with understanding that it was wrong. Too much to talk about so I will end here. If you like being treated like crap, this is the place for you.

Excellent hotel in the Harlingen region. Has four floors. Plenty of parking spots available…read more Access the hotel off the feeder of the highway (my GPS apps kept trying to come in from an inaccessible backroad). Rooms were spacious, nice, and modern. Large flat screen TV in all the rooms. I got a room with only a standup shower but comfortably could fit two people. Complimentary breakfast Monday through Friday from 6am-9am and Saturday and Sunday 630am-930am. Has the usual things such as eggs, potatoes, self-made waffles, yogurt, toast/bagels, and juices. Free WiFi that was good speed throughout the facility. Pool is supposedly heated, but it was still really cold and we had to leave within a few minutes of being in the water.
