During our recent stay my husband experienced a medical event after we had checked out. We were unable to leave due to the situation. Sales manager Ashley and front desk manager Ronnie were extremely kind and helpful as we needed to check back in, as well as providing us with useful items. I am a Marriott guy, but I don't know what to say about the poor experience I have had with this Residence Inn property. I stayed here on a recent golf trip at the beginning of October and was charged $4.95 for something that should not have been on my bill. I know it is not a lot of money, but I have called twice and nothing has been done. I spoke to Nathan on 10/12 and he said he would leave a note for the general manager to provide the credit as there was no reason I should have had this charge. I received no response. I waited about a week and no credit was given. I then called and left a message for the General Manager on her voicemail. I still have not received my $4.95. While I believe it was an honest mistake I don't understand why a simple credit can not be put back on my card. I should not have to call multiple times to track someone down who can address the issue. We come to Pinehurst every year. My group of 8 will be staying elsewhere in 2021. read more

I am so pissed. This was the most irritating stay I have ever had at a residence inn. The total cost of my stay was only suppose to have been $300.00. They put a hold on my card for $620.00. I had a $250.00 credit and it was not applied. Then after I complain to the manager the next morning I woke up and now there is a $780.00 hold. What the hell. The manager stated he don't know why and he will call Marriott to see what happened because he don't know why they did that. He told me don't worry about it, it will be fixed before you leave. I left and went back home guess what, it was still not fixed. It took 2 weeks for this matter to be resolved. Never will I ever stay there again. read more

We've been very pleased with our stay. We got the two bedroom with full kitchen and it's been so convenient. Staff is incredibly friendly, polite and professional. A few minor issues but all taken care of very quickly. Breakfast is nice, 3 nights/week they offer appetizers and drinks. Location is great, room was clean. We've stayed here a few times with our 3 children, while house hunting in the area. The front desk staff has always been friendly, and the buildings are clean and quiet. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite, which had plenty of room for the 5 of us. Bathrooms with bathtubs attached to each bedroom made bath time easy, and then we were able to shut the bedroom doors and spend time in the living room after putting the kids to bed. The kitchen has everything you would need to cook a meal: a stove, microwave, dishwasher, full size fridge/freezer, dishes, utensils, can opener, wine opener, etc. And breakfast was included! You can walk across the street to a strip mall which had a few restaurants, a frozen yogurt place, Hobby Lobby, a Dollar Tree, and a few other stores. read more

I made a major mistake not reading these reviews prior to booking. The hotel brand is the reason I booked. The hotel General Manager (Bobbie) does not represent the Marriott brand as I have experienced in my travels over the past decade. This is really too bad and there is plenty of competition so I strongly suggest you go elsewhere. Specifically, the room was fine but my wife and I were placed in a room adjacent to an outside door. The door was faulty, made exceptionally loud sounds, and kept us up all night. Unfortunately, when we complained in the morning, the staff indicated that they knew the door was loud and could not provide us with any meaningful reason as to why we were still booked into a room with a known problem. We asked the General Manager to call us. We waited for three days. We also called and left the GM a respectful message to call. We waited for three days. We have never received any call from the GM but we did receive an email with a bunch of inappropriate excuses and without proper consideration for our time, our lack of sleep, and the over $100 that we were billed. read more

My wife and I stayed at this Residence Inn last August. It is a lovely place. We were pleasantly surprised to have a roomy suite. The worst experience that I have ever had in a hotel. I have been moved to 3 different rooms. The first room had a snake in the fireplace, that should have been reason enough to leave. In the second room, I was spraying my bed down with Lysol and saw a bed bug on the pillow. I called the front desk and they moved me one last time. This morning I woke up after being nervous all night and sleepy on top of the covers, to find another bed bug on the pillow next to where I was laying. I immediately called the front desk and the manager Janae wanted me to scoop the bed bug up into a cup....a cup! read more

We were directed to this property by another Marriott property due to the fact that we had a pet with us. The cost of the room was $109 for my wife and I and the cost of our 9 Lb Dog that does not shed was $125.00 for the one night. I could not believe that they would charge that much. The manager did reduce the cost to $75.00 after I complained. Prior to checking out we were instructed to have a hotel employee check the room for any damages. When we did the employee did not even come into the room. She stood by the door and said it looked OK. We took the opportunity to ask what additional cleaning was completed when a pet stayed in the room. We were told that no additional cleaning was done. Then why the huge cost for the pet. Why don't they just charge a pet deposit and return it if the occupants complete the agreed to inspection? read more

This is a hard review to write. As a "Road Warrior" who spends about a hundred and twenty five nights a year in a hotel, with the majority of them being Marriott brand. When you travel like that you tend to build loyalty and relationships with staff at hotels when you are a "Regular". I have stayed at this property from time to time when traveling to Southern Pines over the last few years. Much like other reviews, I have had a favorable opinion of the Residence Inn, but, I have noticed decline in housekeeping, maintenance and more importantly customer service since a change in the General Manager. My most recent experience has caused me to rethink my selection of hotel accommodations in Southern Pines. My experience this week was a classic failure in customer service by the manager. Hurricane Matthew caused me to visit to assist staff members effected and assess damage to my organizations property. After checking in on Sunday and an original departure on Wednesday, it became necessary to extend my stay through Saturday. When sharing that with the Manager she was curt and said she was "sold out" and would not be able to accommodate me. Me a regular and Platinum status Marriott reward guest. I was clear why I needed to extend and she again said she was sold out for "golf" After a rather unpleasant exchange between the GM and me, she asked me to give her two hours to see what she could do, I agreed. After 3 hours I had my Executive Assistant book me into another Marriott affiliated property. When I checked out a day earlier from the Residence Inn the desk clerk informed me they had extended me. But no call from the desk, manager, text or emails informing me. Sadly, I will not stay here in the future or my staff. As a side note, my Admin explained my situation to the other Marriott property who was also "sold out" but their GM absolutely understood the need and was able to accommodate me. read more

Wow. From the moment we walked in this has been a horrible experience. We came in the early evening with a baby and a toddler. We called ahead to ask that 2 pack and plays be set up, they assured us they would. We get to room and only one is in room. Only one person on duty so took forever to come up. Kids were a wreck already. Next day we attended a funeral, and had a shopping list of food. They never cleaned the room so never got the list so never got the food. Normally we wouldn't use these services but with two small kids and a very emotional time, we really could have used the help. After all, it's a service they already provide, we were not asking for anything special. Next they deactivate our room keys early. We were locked out of building with two babies in the rain! When we got to front desk, they "reactivated" the card. When we went to get into our room, the card was not activated! read more

I stayed for one night at this hotel, I was visiting a friend stationed at FT Bragg, as I'm stationed at Walter Reed (7 hour drive)! I barely stayed in my room, we were out and about for most of the day and a half. I left a pair of Bose Noise Cancelling headphones in the hotel room. My horrible stupid mistake. I called about an hour after check out and the front desk woman told me "we will have to get into lost and found and see. I'll call you back within the hour." She never called, about three hours had passed. I went to the hotel front desk. Right away she said, "Sorry we couldn't find 'em. We will call you if they turn up." No follow up, no one has called. It's been a week. and they were $400. I will not be back, unless they are to pick up those headphones. read more

Heck yes!!! Couldn't believe my eyes when I walked into my room only to find two rooms, 3 beds, 2 bathrooms and a log burning fireplace!! You thought Tom Brady ascended to heaven yesterday, well move over Mister!!! There is absolutely nothing I love more than a fireplace and warm feet..okay, well maybe I love the crack of a good ol' creme brule tart but it's as close to heavenly that I'm getting these days. Stayed here due to evacuation for Hurricane Matthew. Staff was extremely helpful...young woman named Rachael at the front counter was super nice. We were able to extend an evening and the next morning they called to ask if we needed another night...thankfully the power had been restored; however, very thoughtful of the staff. Rooms were clean and the value for 2 adults and 3 kids under age 10 - very good deal. I would recommend any family to stay here in the future. read more

This is a nice hotel, the front desk associates are very welcoming and friendly, they printed out my boarding pass at no cost. There was complimentary food in the lobby, that was very nice. My bedroom was comfortable, it was a nice suite with extra blankets. I enjoyed my stay, there was nice furniture and optional coin operated laundry. read more

Yes, they charge a pet fee but they're the only hotel in the area that accepts dogs. - BIG dogs. The hotel was modern, clean and the staff couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. The evening dinners and morning breakfasts were an added bonus. There's a nice dog walk area and a lovely pool, patio and outdoor seating area. We will definitely return! read more

Fortunately after several posts on Social Media, they reversed the charges. Still no call from the manager. Watch out for fraudulent charges on you bill. Not good. They placed a $100 charge on my bill for Pet Charge. When I called they said I had a dog in the room. No. Since I travel for business and have stayed at this hotel numerous times this year and last, I don't bring the dog I don't have with me. When I called they said the maids said there was pet dander all over the room. I said no, the maids made a mistake. We'll have the GM call you. No call. I called and asked for GM got voice mail. No call back. Now I have to go through the hassle of disputing it with my Credit card company. Pops customer service for a repeat customer. read more

I stayed here two nights during Hurricane Florence. I live in Scotland County, NC. My county was severely impacted by this storm with 30 or more inches of rain. I came to this hotel to keep myself and my family safe. I prepaid on my debit card for the two night which was $392. After checking in a getting to my room I look at my banking account and there is a $47 dollar charge on their. I call the front desk and ask what the charge is for and they tell me that it is a hold for incidentals. The air conditioner would not turn off. It constantly ran the whole time we were there. After checking out I get home to obviously a disaster around my home town. I am checking my banking account and I see that they have have charged me two more times, once for $288 and a second time for $219. The next day I look and they have charged me another $219. For a total of roughly $1100 for a two night stay. I call the hotel and the front desk staff can't seem to tell me anything about it saying that they have no idea what the charges are. I ask to speak to the general manager, who is not there. The next day I call several times to talk to the general manager, who is still not there. I do get to talk to the guest services manager who tells me that she doesn't know anything about it but that she has more important things right now to worry about due to the hurricane impacting some of the other guests that were staying there. I say exactly I was impacted as well and ya'll are constantly taking money out of my account that I do not have that is causing my bank to continuously charge me overdraft fees. The third day I call and the front desk clerk tries to send me to the managers voicemail and I tell her that I want to actually talk to the manager. The manager gets on the phone with me and doesn't even give me time to explain the situation to her. She automatically gets loud and rude with me in return causing me to get loud and rude with her. She tells me that I don't know what I am talking about and that they have not charged my card like that. She also tried to tell me that we were smoking in the room and that I was lying when I said we did not smoke in the room. We did have smokers in my family but they smoke outside anyways and they did there as well, and she proceeded to tell me that the room smelled like smoke. I told her that they did smoke outside and that the smell must have came from their clothes. Any body that is around a smoker knows that even if you smoke outside the smell is still on your clothes and in your hair and it is still gonna get on your fabrics such as your furniture and bedding. And she repeatedly told me that I was lying and I didn't know what I was talking about.I have called the corporate number a few times and am waiting to hear back from them. I will never ever be staying at this hotel ever again. The staff was rude, disrespectful, and did not try to handle this matter in a timely fashion. read more

My husband and I were extended guests at this hotel (3 months) and had a great stay. Management and front desk was very friendly, maid service was outstanding and came daily. The breakfast has to be one of the best features at this hotel. They offer a full buffet style breakfast with a DIY waffle press! The hotel also offers dinner (complimentary) 3 nights out of the week! The pool is awesome, there is a grill and picnic area that is always well kept. This hotel is within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Overall a great place to stay in Southern Pines. read more

Four of us stayed here in a two bedroom suite in March 2017 because we were attending a nearby wedding. The rooms were clean, spacious, and we really appreciated the kitchenette. At night we all sat around the fire pit and enjoyed drinks, s'mores, and each other. The breakfast is hearty, with oatmeal, eggs, biscuits, cereal, etc. The swimming pool is sparkling clean. The staff are super helpful and polite and pleasant; the desk manager even researched and scheduled a last-minute hair appointment for me. At this price, this hotel is a fabulous deal.
