First of all I wanted to give 5 stars ...but lack of attention to detail... I couldn't go 5 stars. This is because (ladies at front desk 1 training) were both really nice and welcoming and on check in. was assisting with breakfast but yet still checking out customers. The weekend as a whole seemed not to busy for Residence inn Tulsa downtown. In town for a wedding across the street at the Mayo hotel... I called the night before fo confirm the note of feather free pillows as we have a down allergy and travel with EpiPens... They absolutely let me down on the overall experience. I am a platinum elite Marriott rewards member and choose this hotel chain based on positive previous experiences. I have started staying with the Hilton chain most recently....and might go exclusively with them. (Due to numerous mistakes on attention to detail) Down allergies are a real thing...and can get serious quickly. I choose to inspect all pillows as soon as I get in the room - when checking into the room first thing as I can't trust Marriott properties to look on the reservation where it reads down allergy. Feather free room. On arrival to room...you guessed it - 4 of the 4 pillows with duck feathers/down filling. Steamed at this point I took the pillows and placed outside the room. I informed Front desk as we left for our wedding.... The room was clean, breakfast staff was hard to find. Housekeeping staff had smiles on their faces. The hotel was clean and seemed secure from the rif raf walking around downtown. The bar wasn't open when I checked in nor could I grab any beers from the market. Unfortunate. Lost out on some easy business. I was thirsty!! This was an experience I felt needed to be documented to management so I posted to social media. Hopefully they can get the attention to details ironed out. If a place can't accommodate my request..just let me know I can stay elsewhere. Respectfully, Bryan Bonvoy member platinum elite Yukon, Oklahoma

Dear Residents Inn Tulsa, Let me start off with I was highly anticipating my stay with you all as I was looking forward to a new hotel and your swimming pool vibes. Upon arrival I was greater swiftly, but let me say that is all that was great about my visit with you all. As we went up to our room as usual I inspect the rooms since Covid the lack of cleanliness in hotels have unfortunately been subpar. I found old popcorn kernels and a old lid to what seemed to be a hair product cap. I didn't want to make a big fuss so I just made sure the bathroom and bedding was fine. For most of our stay we stayed busy. It seems like housekeeping wasn't available as I placed the note on the door to come later and we seemed to always leave by 10 A.M. or earlier. So the whole time we were there we did not get any house keeping service. I noticed the signs stating Covid distancing, but nowhere did they state we needed to ask or it was limited to our stay. Moving to my main concern we had finally had a chance to enjoy the pool Sunday evening. To our surprise we go down around 545 or so and the yellow discoloration to the pool and trash that was floating in the pool was disgusting. A cigarette bud, and paper floating like a square piece of paper, and what I hope was not a condom but a piece of a plastic bag. Over all I should just stick to the hotels in Tulsa that have been great. Trying a new hotel has been a great disappointment . Overall for a Marriott association horrible.

This one, though, missed the mark in a few spots. But first, the good... I'll start with the front desk staff, who were always friendly and greeted me upon each arrival and departure. They even mailed some postcards for me, which was really nice. The hotel is also really conveniently located. It was a short drive to almost everywhere I needed to be. In fact, if the weather hadn't been so chilly I could even have easily walked to most downtown places I visited. Now for the "meh"... My room, located on the 7th floor, had a lovely view. Other than that, it was run down and could have used a refresh. Also, housekeeping never showed up after my first night, even though I was gone most of the day. Not really sure what happened there. They did clean it the next day, though. But back to my room: from a lampshade that looked like it had been sat on to strange brown stains on the wall that had me thinking a lot about those true crime podcasts I used to listen to, not to mention the exposed wires in the wall thermostat, it gave 1-star dive hotel in many ways. The walls were pretty thin, too, and I could smell/hear the folks in the room next to me. Luckily, they put away the joints and the music pretty early in the evening, but it still detracted from the overall experience. Parking was also really weird here. The desk clerk had advised I park at the garage next store, which I did on the first night. Folks, this place was CREEPY with a capital CREEP. I especially advise against parking there if you're a solo female. And while my car was ultimately fine, navigating the enclosed stairwell and abandoned office building lobby with no visible exits just to get out of the place was not my vibe. After night one, I just used the outdoor lot next to the hotel. It was only slightly safer feeling, as it was occupied by some semi-shady characters, but at least there were various options to exit without feeling like I was trapped in an amusement park funhouse. On my last trip to Tulsa, I stayed at the nearby Tulsa Club hotel (also a Hilton property), and if/when I return I'll choose that spot again rather than the Hampton.

All you could want and more.. except a more comfortable bed. To be clear, I rarely find a hotel bed comfortable, I am always some level of sore the next day after a bad night's sleep, but unfortunately this is night 5 on this road trip, and the 5th hotel bed I've slept in and it is by far the worst for me. If you prefer a medium or softer bed you may be disappointed. If that isn't what you prefer then you'll love your stay here!

Going through the sliding glass doors into the first floor lobby area there is a second set of sliding glass doors that requires the room key or you must push the call button. The receptionist again opened up the doors for me immediately. From there, you will go to the second floor, where the receptionist desk is to check in. Hotel staff is very friendly and offer recommendations if you ask. Complementary breakfast available. Eggs, sausage and/or bacon, waffles, English muffins, scones etc. My room was clean, had body wash, shampoo and conditioner provided. My room did not get completely dark, because my room backed up to the parking lot and restaurants behind the hotel, where there were some light poles. Though the curtains are blackout, the light still seeped in from the top of the curtains. I was still able to get sleep. I just would have preferred a darker room. My stay included Friday, the first Friday of the month is the art walk. There was some loud music playing, but it was not too bad and they did not go past 10 PM. Hotel is very convenient to restaurants, BOK, museums, etc. because the hotel is in Downtown, you can expect to see a few homeless people wandering around. You may get asked for money if you were out walking about. I was asked twice as I walked across the street to Sisserou's. During my stay, I also noticed the same homeless person hanging around in the garage. My stay was good. I would recommend the hotel.

One other note, the Mayo has an extensive history & a number of Movies/TV shows were filmed inside including Sylvester Stallones "Tulsa Kings" Next time passing through Tulsa we will absolutely stay at the Mayo again.

I asked to switch rooms, and while the front desk initially said there were rooms available, they later said they couldn't help and that the hotel was full. Upon arriving to our room, we noticed there were several sweet ants crawling on the night stand and on the floor to the entry of the bathroom. We went back to reception and they immediately changed our room. The room itself was very nice and comfortable. The pool was smaller, but nice. There was a sign up sheet for access to the pool and you had to request staff to let you into the pool area. They also never kept any towels in the pool so you had to walk to the makeshift lobby dripping wet to request a towel. The construction guys accidentally set off the fire alarm at 8am on Saturday. That's one way to wake up. The breakfast area has been moved in to the small gym space while renovating and there's hardly any room. In addition, they did not keep breakfast well stocked and the toaster broke so options were very slim.
