I was really on the fence about giving the Mayo 4 or 5 stars but I decided on 4 just because the room was beautiful but had many small maintenance issues such as 1) Peeling black duct tape covering the windows edges. 2) Only 1 accessible wall USB port port 3) The refrigerator was not conducive for standing Wine/ Liquor bottles. 4) Minor paint peeling. But with that said everything else was perfect with clean, comfortable beds, large modernized rooms & the front desk personnel was very professional & helpful. One other note, the Mayo has an extensive history & a number of Movies/TV shows were filmed inside including Sylvester Stallones "Tulsa Kings" Next time passing through Tulsa we will absolutely stay at the Mayo again. read more

The room was very spacious, but the AC system is extremely loud and made it hard to sleep, especially if you're a light sleeper. Customer service was disappointing. I asked to switch rooms, and while the front desk initially said there were rooms available, they later said they couldn't help and that the hotel was full. The way this was communicated felt dismissive and unfriendly. There were also maintenance issues: the safety deposit box was broken, the shower splashed water everywhere due to a poorly designed shower head, and the lighting in the room was inadequate. I needed a desk to work and asked to switch rooms again, but was told no in a way that felt unwelcoming. Overall, not a great experience. I wouldn't recommend staying here. read more

i know what they said....BUT this is my experience.... Close your eyes and imagine - for a moment, if you will... being transported back in time - to a moment in time....where train rides were the mode of transportation and pictures were in black/white....open your eyes in the busy downtown Tulsa!!!! This hotel gives all the notes and historic elements of a Tulsa long ago and I enjoyed the charming and rich history of it all... The mayo suite was clean, spacious and comfy. Not only did I enjoy my stay, but I was greeted at the front desk by the most courteous and helpful staff - Sawyer (who was also my booking agent). I stayed in the winter so I will have to experience the rooftop next visit....I did make a short trip to visit the "center of the universe" (which is not far from the hotel). read more

Terrible. Just terrible. The staff can't answer basic questions or provide any useful information about anything. The room we booked online wasn't available when we checked in so they downgraded our room but still charged us for the premium room we booked. When I tried to address this with the staff they said we'd have to wait for a manager to discuss the situation and kept answering phone calls and taking reservations while we tried to figure out when a manager would be available and why we were being charged for a premium room we didn't actually stay in. We asked 3 times for soap for the bathroom and kitchen and never received any. We eventually just went to a Walgreens and bought our own soap, shampoo and conditioner. Our room was missing an iron. I asked the front desk staff 4 times to deliver an iron to the room 48 hours later still no iron. I finally had to ask and tip one of the gentleman at the valet stand to help us get an iron so we could iron our clothes for the event we were in town to attend. We asked to have our room serviced while we were out from 11:45am to 4 pm. We returned at 5 and the room had not been cleaned. read more

The only complaint is that we had a room that the tv didn't work (this was already known) but we had to take the room because we only had an hour to get ready for the wedding. (Not sure why it wasn't already replaced with a new one). They did comp our valet overnight parking ($30). Otherwise, the room was huge, clean, comfy bed. BEWARE OF THE VALET. We stayed March 7th and left our car with the valet. This is how are car was returned the next day... If you stay here treat it as if it were a rental. Take a video or your car before- it will only take a min but will save you thousands of dollars in repair! So upsetting - there is no way the valet didn't hear, feel or see what they did. Our trip to the Mayo Hotel was mostly due to Tulsa King and wanting to check out the city. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, chic and has a unique history. The museum housed on the 2nd floor has a collection of famous individuals who have stayed at the Mayo hotel, that include Babe Ruth, Lucille Ball, and Elvis Presley. The room was quite spacious with a living room area, a full kitchen and a large bedroom. The location was perfectly situated downtown and walkable to a couple restaurants. I was a little disappointed there wasn't a restaurant in-house (being remodeled), but there was an attached cafe serving some lite bites and drinks. Overall, a great stay and would love to come back once the restaurant opens. read more

The room was huge and plush, bed and pillows comfy and robe amazing. The TV large and living room had full kitchen. Shower very small and underwhelming--would've preferred soaking tub. Shower confusing and had to play with nozzles to get hot water. It took a few minutes as there are moving parts under each nozzle... Rooftop bar was awful. And looked just like the show!!! I love the old charm of the hotel. I did not like the shower!! It was just odd! Also the restaurant at the hotel was under renovations so finding a nice place to eat was tough as a lot of places are closed on Sunday!!! But we managed to just grab some drinks and food at the small cafe on the property.... A bit expensive but when you are hungry!!! read more

Great start, utterly disappointing finish. The property is picturesque, rooms are pleasant, & like every hotel it has its share of pros (dimensions, internet, food-services) + cons (shower, maintenance, mattresses, consistency). But the management & abysmal customer service make this a "never again." It was as shocking as it was embarrassing to see the level of indecency that passes for "trained" & "acceptable" here. The low hospitality standards of the GM were readily reflected in the bad hires. There were a few exemplary representatives, like Zeek, while the rest were mildly unprofessional or strictly deplorable, like Terry. After 2 days of interacting with the latter individual, we cut our (week+) tour short & left. The lack of customer care by this employee & GM engagement appears to be the status quo, unlike neighboring hotels (Brut & Ambassador Hotel specifically). It's disconcerting to think one unfit employee could add as much value as the detracted positive remarks & hard-earned tips otherwise garnered by any remaining employees we interacted with... Hospitality is a team sport & one bad apple truly ruins the bunch. So we're already anticipating the uphill battle for a refund as consequence for giving this business the benefit of doubt. As a wedding venue or residential property, it seems to be a hit. But for a staycation/hospitality business, they make it difficult to spend money here & enjoy the rich operational history + cultural significance of this landmark hotel. 2/5 read more

What a cool hotel! I stayed in a super-new hotel on a prior visit that was nice, but this time around, I wanted something historic and The Mayo certainly has that going for it. The history of this hotel is eerily reminiscent of my hometown's (Kansas City) Union Station; both were considered architectural centers of pride, and bustling businesses that eventually fell into disrepair in the 1980s, only to be revitalized and stand tall once again. There's nothing in disrepair now, as the room was nice and the lobby was stunning. As far as I know, valet is the only option unless you find street parking around, so that's what I went with. At $30 for overnight parking, it's a bit steep. I had a nice view of the BOK Center and and other areas of Tulsa from the ninth floor. I have to say, the older single-pane windows made for a little additional chill in the room, but there's an adjustable thermostat so it's easy to balance out. While I really liked my room, I wasn't as keen on the bathroom. It simply wasn't very clean, and the floor had a sort of greasy, slick texture that was less than ideal. Two of the three shower-heads had calcified over and were not fully functioning. All in all, I found it to be a fun hotel and one I would stay in the next time I visit Tulsa on business. The Mayo is a hotel with stunning architecture and rich history woven into the every room. As soon as I stepped into the lobby, I felt like I was a 1940's film star. The lobby exudes luxury, from the stained-glass ceiling adorned with dazzling chandeliers down to the lush velvet furniture. Even the bathroom is glamorous! Next to the concierge desk, there's a gift shop that offers Starbucks coffee--I'll definitely be taking advantage of that! In addition, the Mayo also has menus for room service and their rooftop bar. My one bedroom suite is beautiful, equipped with a full kitchen, lounge area (with a pullout couch), and desk in the main room. The master bedroom is luxurious, and the bed feels as soft as a cloud. One thing about the room that I thought was a little strange is that the shower has no door. Also, we were provided with tiny bottles of shampoo and conditioner, hardly enough for one hair-washing, and no body wash. Every staff member I've encountered so far at the Mayo has been polite and welcoming, making guests feel at home. read more

I traveled for work and stayed at The Mayo. I'll admit I'm very particular about my hotel stays so I was not sure coming in especially since I didnt book my accommodations this time. As soon as I stepped into the lobby, I was immediately charmed. Talk about decor! Definitely takes you back in time and I was here for it. As far as the room (suite), it was clean, spacious, and peaceful. The bed (and pillows) were comfortable, which made for a relaxing stay. As I was there for brief business travel, my experience was likely different than the usual. From what I can tell, the hotel is centrally located to restaurants and other downtown spots. There's also the penthouse rooftop bar for views. I'd recommend a stay at The Mayo for the historical charm! read more

Nice exterior and very nice, ornate lobby (sorry, forgot to take pics). We got a suite for about $350-400/night. At that price, I was very disappointed. To be clear, this is still a fairly nice hotel so this review should be read taking into account the price and the year (2023). The suite was fairly large with a good sized entryway which included a family room and small kitchen, then a long hallway, good sized bathroom and normal sized bedroom (king bed). Being picky, what we thought was below average: TV was just a TV (no movies to rent, no ability to stream apps, etc), there is NO ROOM SERVICE for food (they suggested we go to the Penthouse Bar and order food, then bring it to our room), and all of the furniture and furnishings were dated and not well taken care of. Our interactions with the staff were fine, but the vibe was cold. Not our favorite place, definitely not a destination. read more

If you have a vehicle the only option is valet. During our stay the hotel had a high school prom. It took us 1 hour and 18 minutes - yes it was so nutty we timed it - to return our car to the valet area. The car line was not that long but we just sat and sat. Not moving. We called the hotel to figure it out and the staff response and attitude was "too bad so sad we have a prom so wait your turn". No apology and no comp of the $30 per day valet fee. It was ridiculous. Never again and if you are parking valet ask if there is an event and if so plan accordingly. read more

Friendly service. I love grand old hotels. This one has been around for a hundred years. It was the tallest building in Oklahoma when it was built. A long list of famous people have been guests over the last century. Most recently it played a part in Sly Stallone's Tulsa King series. Elvis "the King" also stayed here. The Mayo Hotel and Residences are the perfect example of "All that glitters, isn't gold". Often considered the goliath of grandeur or the pinnacle of prestige in downtown Tulsa, this establishment is quite the opposite. The Mayo is like the city slicker selling watches on the street in the fancy suit and the perfectly coiffed hair - on the outside, he looks rich and grand. But inside that jacket, or in this case the hotel, the people are as shiny, fake and cheap as the weightless Rolexes pandered in NYC. There are some good people here - a few hardworking employees who tirelessly toil through a maze of stupidity, micromanagement, and blondes with dark roots and cheap haircuts. But those people eventually are beat down, trampled on, and the good ones leave. I had high hopes of living here - after all, it is supposed to be the best in Tulsa. But the exclusivity stops before you make it past the dated drab lobby and that gaudy $25,000 Italian mirror. My time here has felt like a trip on the Titanic - although at nearly $3k a month, I've paid for a first class cabin and been treated like a third-class chimpanzee. And let's face it, this ship is sinking. I'll spare you the details about how management let someone break into my apartment and steal my dog, refused to let me use basic services like a service elevator, and literally did nothing to stop the sexual harassment from the washed up has beens who call this place home. As for the #MenOfMayo, well, if you're even remotely attractive, you can expect verbal and physical assaults on a regular basis. The whole place wreaks of "Basic Baes" and counterfeit handbags catering to new money and doing literally anything to earn a dollar. Customer service? Forget about it. Dignity and respect? The ladies of the night on 11th probably get more appreciation from their gentleman callers than I ever received here. To put it bluntly - don't live here, don't stay here, take your money anywhere else. I hear the LaQuinta at least keeps the place clean. Since the whole vibe caters to the class of wannabe Real Housewives, I'll end this with a quote from my favorite, Brandi Glanville, and a message to the owners: "Money doesn't give you class, it just gives you money." And God this place, and the owners, are looking far too rich to look that damn old. read more

Our first trip to Tulsa, Oklahoma so we wanted to have an experience and after researching the area we decided The Mayo Rooftop is "THE PLACE" to be. Watch a sunset then return for a sunrise before heading to Missouri. Unfortunately, we drove into a desolate city where everything was shut down including the many churches and not a single other car on the road with us in downtown. After checking in we were informed the city died with Covid and there's no shopping, eateries, or fun places around. And the only businesses that exist are closed on Sundays and Mondays. We said that was fine bec we are here for the rooftop. We were then informed that's only open Wednesday thru Saturday from 4-close??? I think closing is either 9pm or 11pm, I cannot recall. I do know, we would not have stayed here if we would have known the situation. We would have traveled a little further towards Missouri. I do love history and hearing stories so that was kinda neat to get the skinny from the gentleman in the little bistro nextdoor where they have lots of delicious bakery goods :-) The other interesting part about this 100 year old hotel is there are residential homes on several floors and you can look them up. Some are really beautiful and trendy and I'd live in :-) The gentleman in the bistro said the smallest 1 bd 1 bath residence rents for about $1700. You cannot buy any of these hotel residences, lease only. Anyway, our 3rd floor hotel room is spacious and an interesting floor plan. You walk into a HUGE fourier where the dressing area is also then you pass thru an area where the coffee bar/frigerator is then there's a meshed up area of a dresser, full length mirror, chair and desk area. The bathroom vanity is outside the bathroom to the right. And the desk faces the bed, a chaise lounger, and another dresser that the tv sits on. It's all okay. But the bathroom. The shower is a huge long area the size of a rolling doors closet, but the shower head is literally right around the corner when entering it. You are squished between the 2 shortest spaces so you're kissing the wall and bumping it while showering. And of coarse it's not the cleanest grout bec it is 100 year old building that has cost them over $40million to refurbish. So, all in all, for almost $200 a night, we would not stay here again. read more

This place is just okay. The room I had had a strange layout and couldn't decide it wanted to be modern or deco. I ruined a dress on the chaise in my room when I didn't notice that staples had come out from the chaise and I ran into it. First day. I let the staff know and nothing happened. So I let them know again when I left and again nothing happened. Had to toss the dress since it wasn't fixable. But I at least got an apology. Won't be staying here again. I stick to the Tulsa Club down the street by Hilton. read more

Beautiful and historic hotel with great customer service. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. I was on the third floor which did not provide a view. Even the windows were opaque only letting light in. It was fine since I was hardly in it and they did allow natural light in but people who do want a view might want to be aware of that. Speaking of view, I wanted to check out the rooftop bar and wished I had gone up there earlier to catch the sunset which I'm sure is dazzling. I have a couple of points of critique. One is that the café that's open for breakfast and lunch was fine but it would be nice if there was the option of eating one's meal not out of a to-go box with plastic utensils. It may be that they don't have a kitchen but there are better single-use products out there if you must use them. The other complaint, of which I'm not alone, is the gross and outdated shower. There was pink mildew on the shower head and black mildew in the corners and the grout. Plus, the water doesn't drain and was standing when I came back to my room that evening. It wasn't that the drain was clogged but that the surface is level so the water is not directed to the drain. I chose to wear my waterproof slippers while I showered. read more
