If you need a place to stay for a tournament at the PSM Ice House or Field House, this is the best place to stay. Both locations are literally across the street. If you are not coming for a tournament, keep in mind the pool, halls, and common areas will be packed with loud kids there for tournaments. It is otherwise a nice location. Staff are great - friendly and helpful. Everything is clean and well maintained. We've been here quite a few times and we keep coming back. read more

We stayed here for one quick night while visiting a friend. We only booked this hotel because they allowed dogs, and at the time we didn't realize there were nicer pet-friendly hotels in the area. Lesson learned. The room had an unpleasant odor the second we walked in. The elevator was OOO, bathroom floor was filthy, with dirt and grime pushed into the corners. The bathtub didn't look clean at all, and the room itself felt cramped and poorly maintained. Getting ready here put me in a mood -- and coming back to actually sleep? Forget it. I fell asleep at 10pm and was wide awake by 2am. Zero rest. For a "newer" hotel, this place is absolutely not clean or upkept. I ended up packing my things and driving to my in-laws' house the next morning just to shower and get ready before driving home. On the bright side, I discovered that The Bradley downtown allows dogs -- so that will be the move from now on. I won't be making this mistake twice. read more

We were in town for some baseball with the Tincaps and booked this hotel using some of our gazillion points I had accumulated from being a road warrior. The hotel has easy parking for free which is great... it is clean and there is a little convenience store thingy in the lobby so that was handy. The elevators are pretty slow but come on.. not a big deal. We never did get to see any of the "Midwest" charming folks as we never did get any smiles or interaction from any hotel staff. Walked by at least a dozen over the few days and couldn't even get them to make eye contact... weird. read more

Fourth different city, and fourth different hotel this week has landed me at Marriott's TPS in Fort Wayne. The hotel is clean and the staff is pleasant and helpful. This is actually my third stay in this hotel as company business brings me to Fort Wayne occasionally. I am SUPER picky about hotels, so the fact I'm leaving such a good review surprises even me. The room was clean, except for a vape cartridge my 9 year old found by the window. The handle for the microwave looked glued on after an accident or something but we overlooked those things. The staff seemed friendly, the beds were comfortable and the toilet paper was soft! Angel Soft, to be exact. Yes....this matters. I have been to SO many hotels, paying hundreds of dollars for a night of sleep and very few have decent TP. That gets noticed by people like me. The pool was closed, so I can't comment on that. They offer lots of games and stuff to borrow to help make your stay more enjoyable, which I found to be a really nice touch. If you're hungry, check out the Giordano's nearby. It's really good! I wish more hotels would get their act together. This place should be the standard of service....and the housekeeping deserves a big portion of that praise. They rock here! read more

Let's start with the good. Loved the bathroom and kitchen in the room(217). The host was very pleasant. Where did things go wrong? No toothpaste in the room. Extremely thin walls. We could literally hear the conversation of the people in the next room. The best part of the visit was the 7am wake up call from the elephant in the room above us. I kid you not, the thin walls and floor in this place are ridiculous. The smoking area is outside the front doors so when you walk in or out you get a nice inhale if that quality second hand smoke. read more

Great value, great hotel. Stylish, neat, staff was very friendly. The bed was wonderful. Breakfast is simple but very adequate. (OJ, waffle maker, fresh fruit, etc.) Rooms have everything: fridge, stove, microwave, flat screen, free Wi-Fi. This is the perfect hotel for business travelers or, like us, visiting Fort Wayne with lots of plans. Only complaint - very minor - cleaning staff ignore the "do not disturb" sign. The rooms were up to Marriott standards and the staff was exceptionally helpful, friendly, and patient. (The hotel is near a number of sport centers and caters to a lot of kid's sport teams.) The hotel was nice and everything seemed brand new. The person on duty was able to tell us about the restaurants in the area and guide us to what we were looking for that night. In the morning the food area was kept clean and food continually replenished. This Townplace could be used as a model for other Marriott properties. read more

I really wanted to give this hotel five stars, but I couldn't do it. We didn't have any shampoo, a remote control for the television, or a "do not disturb" sign to place on the door. Ironically, after I received the "do not disturb sign" from the staff and placed it on the door, the twenty-something cleaning lady completely ignored the sign in the morning. She knocked loudly on our door, and not only attempted to open the door once, but twice. Don't you think she would have figured out that she wasn't welcome the FIRST time she tried to open the door?! The latch at the top was the only safeguard between her entering our room! However, the hotel was exceptionally clean and the staff was very friendly. The beds were very comfortable and it was obvious the sheets were freshly washed. Aside from the mishap with the cleaning lady, I got a fantastic night's sleep. read more

This location was recently completely renovated; finished last week. Everything was redone including the open spaces as well as the rooms. Carpeting, furniture, kitchen spaces and bathrooms. We arrived very late at night and Whitney was super welcoming at the front desk. In the morning we had a hot breakfast which was included with the room package. Pretty standard free breakfast. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Upon entering the building at check-in, the maintenance man was very cordial and offered my 2yr old a bath toy to use during our stay. The man running the breakfast in the morning was extremely helpful. He recognized that I was taking my family's breakfast back up to the room so he quickly brought me a food tray. Hotel is very clean and seemingly new. I found the mirror in the bathroom that faces the toilet quite awkward- made for a strange bathroom visit. Stayed here for 4 nights, end of Aug and Sept. The room was so wonderful, so outfitted and so comfortable. I loved it. The bed was one of the best I've slept in. It doesn't hurt that this motel is only about 3 years old. Breakfast was OK, nothing special but I appreciate that it was there and available. The little dining area was very nice, except for all the sick children. I took an English Muffin back to my room. Free flowing OJ is nice. I was greeted nicely every time I came in. Couple things for them to work on. Late at night I called down to the desk for some hospitality help, and got no answer. One time I went down to get ice and the front desk was abandoned. I booked and stayed 4 nights. They did not change the sheets, they remade the bed, but didn't change the sheets. I also ate some munchies by the desk while on my lap top and I'm afraid I dropped crumbs, they never vaccuumed. Kids were out of control here. They did not keep me from having a good night's sleep until they F(^^('d with the fire extinquishers and had the whole motel evacuated 11:30 on Sunday night. Fire Trucks, Paramedics, Sheriff Cars etc......at 11:30pm. That morning I had to check out at 4:30am and the elevator was absolutely trashed. Ice Cream smeared all over the doors and more smashed food into the floor of the elevator. Where are the parents!!!??? What a mess. Because I had a terrible cold, the 11:30pm evacuation on my last sleep there was really unappreciated. I got no sleep that night and when I checked out at 4:30am, I felt like crap. Got to Indy airport only to remember that I had left several articles of clothing in the drawers in the room. I contacted the hotel and they packed them up and with credit card info from me, they got they right to me. YEEAHHHHH Thank you!!! read more

Convenient to the ice rink, mall, and several dozen restaurants, TownPlace Suites is all about location, if that's what you are looking for your stay. The staff was generally friendly, and the room was very adequate - the kitchen area is cramped - but there's nothing special about the hotel itself. I'd rather save money and stay at the Fairfield Inn up the road, or pony up the bucks to stay down at the Residence Inn, than split the difference and stay at this middle of the road - literally - property. The only reason why I gave my stay a 4/5 was because the horrible weather caused a pipe to burst just before we got there so, the way to the elevator and stairs were filled with fans and workers trying to save the rooms downstairs. It was a challenge walking thru the hall and up the stairs with luggage. Other than that, the hotel was great. Clean, great customer service, and a great location. What more could you ask for? Oh you would like breakfast too, you are in luck! They have a great selection of breakfast items including soy milk, which is rare! The swimming pool was great for laps, but there was no hot tub. Which I wasn't disappointed about anyway. For those of you get your fitness on, they do have a small but equipped fitness room. Well after you work out or go for a swim, you won't be disappointed with the comfortable beds. It was great having a kitchenette in the room, so convenient to have cold drinks, ice, and a microwave to warm up some leftovers. But if you're ambition there is pots and pans to make yourself some food. There isn't a restaurant in the hotel so that's convenient to be able to make your own food. If I ever stayed in Fort Wayne again, I'd stay here! read more

My husband and I booked a room last minute because our flight kept getting delayed. This place isn't super fancy but the bed was comfortable, our room was clean, there is free WiFi and you don't need a password for it. There is a small gym that is open 24 hours. They have a decent continental breakfast. The main thing that would bring me back here is the customer service. We checked in at 2am the young lady at the front desk was very nice and accommodating. Everyone that I came into contact with was very nice. They even let us have a late checkout at no extra charge! read more

The cleanliness of the room is sufficient, but the carpeting in the common areas, especially the elevator, can do with some replacing. We did need an early check in, after much confusion (and them misunderstanding that my brother in law wanted to cancel our reservations), everything did work out. They were able to at least get me into my room early. My b-i-l also arranged a late checkout for me, which was great. The hotel was clean and decorated nice. They had some snack items for sale up front, breakfast was minimal (the only hot food was oatmeal and waffles), they had pool and workout room, plenty of parking. My room was decorated nicely. Wouldn't let us stay in the lobby after 10 pm. The outside patio was full and we were rudely asked to leave the lobby. We had a group of 12 and ended up sitting in one of our rooms instead. If we can't sit outside, where else would we sit? What kind of policy doesn't allow guests to gather in a seating area. It's ok, we'll stay somewhere else the next time we stay in the Fort Wayne area. Update: When I stay at a hotel, I would rather other guests have an option outside of their rooms to socialize. This way, if the walls are paper-thin (like those at TownePlace suites), I wouldn't hear people talking until 3 am. If we were being rowdy, I would understand the 10 pm rule; however, we are adults and are capable of keeping our conversation at a reasonable level. My family regularly travels and every hotel we've stayed at allows guests to socialize in common areas as long as they aren't being obnoxious. I booked my wedding lodging with TownePlace Suites due to the recommendation location near my wedding venue. The hotel is about 3 years old and is very nice. There is an indoor pool and con. breakfast every morning. There is also a weight room and coin laundry if needed. Booking my wedding block (reserving a number of rooms under our wedding party) was very easy, even when contact persons changed. My only feedback is I was not provided with a final number of how many rooms had been blocked until I asked nor give a number of how many guests were listed in total; this would have been helpful. Nevertheless, the staff was so helpful everyday. Anything I needed, they provided. They gave out my out-of-town-guest bags at the front desk for free, let me check in into my room when my mom (the card holder on the room) did not show up for a few, and made our guest feel welcome. The rooms were big and had a full fridge, iron, and large bathrooms. Even the 1 bedroom were me and hubby transferred into for our honeymoon was really nice. It would have been great for a bridal room.No guest had complaints.The rooms were also clean. If needed, I would stay in the hotel again. Perfect. Extremely accommodating.The staff went above and beyond to provide an early check-in since we were moving from a filthy hotel across town. I called the TownePlace around 3:45 or 4 a.m. from the other hotel to determine if we could get an early checkin. The staff member assured me we would have a room waiting for us when we arrived later that morning. When I called a few hours later to determine how soon we could check in, the female who answered the phone said, "Is this Ms. Truelove?" She already knew the situation and told us to come as we were!! We actually checked in wearing the clothes we had traveled and slept in the day before! They even offered us breakfast although it was right at 9 am and they could have closed. The female employee who managed the breakfast area was so kind and patient. Although she could have been putting everything away, she encouraged us to eat and didn't make us feel rushed at all. I just can't express enough how much I appreciate everyone at the hotel. We will definitely be back and I'm sure my colleagues will be staying there also because I have been raving about it all week! read more

On January 17th I stayed at the Marriott Towne Place Suites in Ft Wayne and checked out on January 18th. My family and I were there for a basketball tournament that weekend. We checked in at approximately 4 pm that day and then left to attend the tournament. When we returned to our room we tried to use the toilet but it was broken. I notified the front desk and was told that I could come and get a plunger from the front desk. The attendant at the front desk (the only one working in the building at the time) dropped off the plunger for me to see if I could get the toilet unclogged. After several minutes of both my wife and I trying to unclog it we were unsuccessful. I followed up with the front desk attendant and she said that she would move us to another room. This occurred very late in the evening and when we got to the other room it was not what we paid for. We originally reserved a king suite, but we were placed in a studio queen room. I spoke with attendant at the front desk and told her that I was unhappy with the room and was told that my room rate would be discounted. I was on a very tight schedule and didn't have much time to discuss what happened with the manager. The attendant told me that she would discount the room by $40 dollars and I said that I would follow up later to speak to a manager. The next day on January 19th I spoke with the manager and told her that I was extremely disappointed with the service and the replacement room we were given. She said that the room would be discounted at half off. When I went to check my bank statement to see if it was taken care it was not. . I wonder how the CEO of Marriott would react if he/she was the paying guest that evening and had been handed a plunger to fix their own toilet. Additionally, poor scheduling of staff is a factor. Someone other than a front desk attendant should be scheduled to assist with these types of issues. Since my room was uninhabitable the room should have been upgraded, not downgraded.. Lastly, because of the toilet issue my wife and I had to shuffle my family to another room late in the evening. My stay at the Marriott was unforgettable and not in a positive way. read more

We stayed here for 5 nights. We had pets with us. We requested a top floor room, but were not given one. They only have a small number of pet friendly rooms on each floor and apparently we needed to request this at time of booking. Our suite was very clean with exception to finding an old, half eaten candy bar behind the livingroom sofa. That was gross. The king bed was super comfortable. Was surprised to see smallish flat screen tv's in the suites: they were 32-34" at most. Thankfully, we didn't watch a lot of tv. Breakfast was the same offering everyday and got boring for us quickly. When we checked in, the front desk told us that because we brought pets, housekeeping would not enter or bother us unless we called and requested service. We liked that. However, the staff actually did knock and try to enter multiple times throughout our stay. Apparently they did not get the memo that we had pets in our room. For this reason, we felt that we had to leave the do not disturb card on the door at all times so that any mishaps would be avoided. Biggest complaint by far was the excessive footfall noise by our upstairs guests. They weren't even that loud, but the construction of this place is rather shoddy and the noise was very disrupting for us. Thankfully they were in bed pretty early. If you are noise sensitive like we are, make sure to request a top floor room. read more
