Very clean and newer hotel. It was well cared for and I would see people cleaning and attending to the grounds. Breakfast was delicious with a great variety... they even had a waffle maker shaped like a soccer ball for the World Cup. We stayed in one of the suites with a kitchenette and everything you would need was there. We were glad to have a fridge with a freezer as we were there for baseball tournaments and were freezing water bottles to stay cool. Bed was comfortable and shower was great! The staff was incredibly friendly. This may have been my favorite hotel stay of 2026. Starbucks is within walking distance also. read more

The plumbing in the room had significant problems. The bathroom sink had almost no water pressure, tub had standing water that drained very slowly each sink tub etc has air blowing in and out of the faucet each time we turned them on. The shower leaked onto the floor The staff were very nice they said they knew the room had problems & offered to change our room but it was our2nd night we didn't want to repack we wanted housekeeping they said it was every other day but no one did anything for 5 days we had to ask for new towels breakfast was very unappetizing Overall very disappointing read more

Plenty of free parking and free breakfast every morning. Great staff and management. We did have a water pressure problem one morning while my wife was showering. City working on water was to blame. Management made up for the inconvenience by comping a night. Very much appreciated. They moved us to the bottom floor and we had no problems. I highly rate this property. No complaints. read more

I usually stay at Marriott or Hyatt when travelling for work and kind of know what to expect. This location was newer, cleaner and very well managed. We were staying here for my son's baseball tournament and couldn't be happier. We were early for check in and our rooms weren't ready, but they really did everything they could to accommodate us during out stay. Running my own business, I know how short staffing creates it's own challenges but the front desk Mary/Maya I believe her name was, kept us informed and made us feel welcome when we camped out in the lobby. LOL. The GM Pua runs this place like she owns it. Treating guests like family and even running around assisting whatever departments needed the help. Hopefully, we get to stay here again, but really want to thank the GM, Front Desk and housekeeping for the outstanding service and hospitality. Aloha! read more

Traveling through Arizona we stayed here for 2 days. Of you want some quiet ask for a room that does not face the freeway it can be noisy you hear the traffic all night long. Other than that it's pretty quiet the beds was comfortable the room was clean. They have a kitchenette fully stocked with just about everything you need to cook with. The bedroom has a little pony wall to gives you a little privacy when you're in the restroom and a dressing area, which is really nice. The shower is nice and big. It's stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. I believe the breakfast is from 6:30 to 9 AM promptly at 9 AM. They shut it down if you're there at 9:01 it's already closed. They have waffles, oatmeal bar, cereal, bar, yogurt little bit of fruit some egg dishes. Coffee bar has hot and cold coffee. All the staff was super nice. read more

Visiting AZ for the 2nd time and we needed a hotel close to a memorial park. Hard to find this place thru the online maps... maybe because it's new? Our uber rides kept going to the hotel across the street. The front staff were really nice. We had really early check in and they were accommodating. They have mixer night M-W and food and staff were awesome. Very friendly, they always have the smiles on their face. Mixr was definitely a great thing to offer. Their comp breakfast was good too. Not too much food, just the basics but done well. The rooms because they're new is impeccable. Clean and well put together. I had only one gripe: the tissue paper roll in our bathroom was about half way done when we came. I wish there were closer food facilities but I know that's not the hotel's problem. My stay here at the Residence Inn Phoenix Avondale will always be remembered due to the staff at the front desk down to the upkeeping of the facilities. Sophia and Casey at the front desk have such an upbeat energy with the willingness to cater to your needs. I've always felt uplifted after talking with them, thank you . I also want to give a special thanks to Daymi in housekeeping. This wonder woman cleans these rooms like it's her home, i thought my mom snuck in my room and cleaned up, lol. Daymi also goes the extra mile to do little things here and there that only take a few seconds, which leaves a great impression. You can stay at the Ritz Carlton to the Four Seasons, but at the end of the day, if housekeeping does 1 star work, your facilities will be rated 1 star. Luckily, Residence Inn has Daymi, a 5 star employee. I'm hiring her when I become rich and famous, sorry Marriott lol. They get more than 1 star because management at the end did what they said they'd do. But they get the score they do because the remedy given the situation was inadequate and unacceptable. Arrived from California on a 2 day surprise baseball birthday trip for my son. Walked into a room so filled with smoke you'd think Marlboro execs had a conference in the room. Now, it's not the hotels fault that a prior guest violated the non-smoking policy, but whoever cleaned up the room, and knowing the hotel was full, should have alerted Front Desk that the unlucky bastard that checks into that room (me) is going to have to deal with that. My wife is sensitive to smoke of any degree so a move was required. The attitude from the hotel initially was tough $#!T. I was left to talk to Marriott after 7 hours on the road for another 90 mins before pushing for the manager (Brandy) to help me out. I offered to pay for the price difference for a comparable Marriott property closer to where our other stuff was (since we'd wasted so much time on this boondoggle). In the end we were basically left with the "choice" of moving to a lesser Residence Inn (much older, smaller rooms, further away) and some points. It completely wasted 1/2 of the trips night activities for a kid's 10th birthday. As I started out this review, the only thing that gives this 2* is the hotel promptly added the points after the issue. But it's something that should not have happened in the first place and given the inconvenience the response feels inadequate and unacceptable even after having sat on it for a few days. read more

It was an awful stay. We were here from June 2 - 4. For a new hotel, housekeeping and front desk staff was not helpful. As my wife and kids got ready for bed, they open the comforter and discovered the mattress in room 228 was SOAKED wet: comforter, linen, and layer of foam was wet. This was at 9pm. Because my daughters had to wake up early, my wife pulled out the sofa bed and had them sleep on the floors - putting sofa bed mattress on the floor. She called downstairs 3 times, but no one answered. I was out grabbing dinner/water/breakfast for the next day. When I got back at 10pm, I checked the mattress, called again. No answer. I went downstairs, no one was at the front desk, waited a few minutes for a person to show up.. and after 30 minutes got us another room - room 229. It is now close to 11pm. As we were moving our belongings - luggage and food, the noise of the doors opening and shutting woke up our neighbors who complained. It could have gotten ugly. We woke up the girls and moved to the next room. Everyone was finally settled in at 12:30am. My 8 and 10 year old girls had to wake up at 5am to make it to a tourney at 7am. Was told manager would be there the next day (Saturday or Sunday) at 9am to chat. No manager showed up on sunday. When we checked out, was advised assistant manager (alexi) would called, no one called. This was a very bad experience. As a frequent traveler, we will need to yelp and put this on trip advisor. We were very disappointed in this experience. Would not recommend this hotel. read more

Beware if you stay here. We stayed Father's day weekend. When we arrived the lady at the front desk was very nice & helpful. The overall place is ok. My husband accidentally left his watch on the nightstand & when we realized it , we called. We the person at the desk said she could not close the desk but to call housekeeping in the morning.....my husband called frantic asking if housekeeping found it or if they could double check everywhere & the manager at the time Named Cassey had the nerve to tell him " I'm not going thru this today" & hung up. I called back & explained it was a very valuable watch "Mavodo" that it's there, maybe it fell during cleaning? She put me on hold for awhile while she says she checked??? Accidentally got transfered to Victoria in sales asked for a GM. Got transfer back to Cassey to her saying it wasn't there? I explained the in management it's not ok to hang up on someone who is frantic because they left a watch at your establishment. Her excuse is that he kept asking to double check!!! Bottom line the watch was there. Next step is filing a police report. BTW how how convenient Ms Cassey was the manager of housekeeping & also happened to be the on-site Manager!‍ becareful if you stay with vaubles, who knows what will happen if your room needs cleaning on your stay....... read more

Ok what is the first thing kids wanna do when they are in 112 degree heat at a hotel that really has no entertainment options around? Yep they wanna jump in the pool. Now I have been in a lot of pools around the country and it seem like this Residence inn spared plenty expense in building the pool. First they picked the damn hottest ass tile they could possibly find to tile around the pool. I am not joking it was like stepping on the frickin sun. Not pool friendly at all. Second no type of waterfall or any kind of cooling system. It honestly felt like I was swimming in a spa. Yeah it was that hot. Not refreshing at all. Now I know they could have done better because I stayed at the hotel right next door and they have a waterfall that pours into the pool, yeah like 20 degrees cooler. So if you don't care about a pool and just want a basic room. Ok this place is new and clean, but really nothing special from a Residence Inn. Landscaping sucks. Been in a lot nicer Residence Inns across the country. I hate to say for a brand new Hotel, this place is a fail. Save your money there are a lot better options in the Phoenix Area. Hands down, the best hotel my family has stayed at for the following reasons: 1. Excellent customer services- CJ was so welcoming and accommodating. He even found my son's AirPods and held them for him. It made the lobby a great meeting/gathering place my son's baseball team and families. We watched the Lakers game on the big TVs. 2. Laundry facility for extended stays. (Very convenient for sports teams) 3. Gym- brand new and nice place to work out. Both my kids used it while we stayed. 4. Pool area with fire pit seating. Fun place to gather. 5. Rooms are huge and include FULL kitchen and all the cutlery/plates/cookware you need to make meals. 6. Rooms include 2 large TVs, and a separate room with a pull out couch. 7. Bathrooms were large and had full-sized Paul Mitchell body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Fresh towel service daily. The housekeepers were really generous with TP and supplies for the kitchen. 8. Centrally located near shopping and restaurants. Very conveniently located off the freeway. There is a Culver's Restaurant in the parking lot. Excellent food which was open til 11 pm. Only minutes from all the spring training baseball parks and about 5-10 minutes from the AZ Cardinals stadium. 9. Beds and linens are extremely comfortable. I slept very soundly. 10. Free breakfast! They even offer you a hot cup of coffee to go on the way out every morning. This place was awesome! read more

DO NOT STAY HERE WITH A PET. They charge a $125 pet fee, as much as the actual room. Booked online and said pet friendly- nowhere did it mention pet fee. I've traveled all over the country with my dog and I've never seen a pet fee over $50 (including Marriott). We were traveling across country and had to wait 2 hours for room to be ready, so didn't feel up to booking another hotel. This hotel was our saving grace not once but twice this month. My first stay was 2/6/2020 my 2 sisters and I on our way home after the worst week of our lives. We were emotional, exhausted and walking zombies. The staff was so nice, the rooms so comfortable and nice. It was the first full nights sleep in a week. The 2nd time was on 2/14/2020 with just my husband and I after funeral services so I was so tired and emotionally drained. This place was like coming home. Once again we were treated so kindly, the King studio was absolutely perfect after a hard day. My husband and I were still able to celebrate Valentines in a special place. This is absolutely my new favorite hotel. I can't say enough good things about the people that work here and the hotel that is so clean and nice. Thank you so very much! read more

Booked a 2 bedroom suite but upon check in we found out that it was not available. So instead they gave us a 1 bedroom suite and a studio right next to each other, and just charged us for the one bedroom suite rate for both rooms!Great service and forward thinking on their part. I will never stay here again. Horrible experience! When I checked in I told the woman at the front desk how long I would be staying (3 nights as I would be checking in early and leaving late the next day). The next morning I recived a call telling me in no uncertain terms to get out. I tried explaining that I still needed the room and would check out at the time previously indicated. After getting nowhere with the man at the front desk I asked to speak to the manager. She also told us to get out, because they were sold out for the next night. I again informed them that when I checked in I told them how long I would be staying. This went nowhere for a while and when I asked for her name so that I could lodge a complaint with their cooperate office she hung up on me. After reaching out to the corporate office, the hotel manager then called me back asking "what my resolution was". I treated her to the same courtesy as she showed me earlier and hung up on her. Corporate hasn't followed up with me as of yet but I'm confident it will be generic, hollow, meaningless words. No corporation is going to care about the troubles of one guest in a unique situation. I'm sure few will read this and none will be deterred, as the general tone of the reviews is positive, however I feel obligated to relay my experience. From all appearances, this location is nice and worth the price. That said, the staff is beyond incompetent. Having traveled multiple times for business with my company covering the charges, I've never had a place completely ignore a company billed account. Every place I have stayed at before has requested a card for a security hold, which I was expecting here as well. What I was not expecting was to be charged the entire amount for the stay. When I confronted the staff they said that they forgot that it had happened to another of our staff only a few hours earlier. On our end, to be fair, our company had not sent an authorization number for our stay. On theirs, they failed to mention this to us and just charged our cards. Now I'm out $1400 I didn't have and now have no money in a city that I don't live in. Supposedly the money should be back in my account in 3-5 days but without money for food, it will be quite a pain until my money is back. Thank you Marriott for stealing my money. I will not be using your locations again as you seem to only staff them with thieves. read more
