    A fireplace lit in Arizona!

What a throwback! They wouldn't build places like this anymore -- mostly single story and spread out. The wigwam started as a small lodge during the rise of cotton ranching in the early 1900s, and then opened its doors as a resort in 1929. You can feel the history. Rooms can be located very far away but the staff does have golf carts to shuttle around guests. I never did take them up on their offer, opting instead to enjoy a stroll around the grounds. I was here for a conference and the services and food were all excellent. Rooms are bigger than normal and the main lobby has great atmosphere and tucked away corners. The grounds are beautiful and the staff is great. A nice respite from the normal hustle and bustle these days!

An absolutely beautiful property! It is a historic property that recently under went renovation. The grounds are so pretty and very well maintained. The property is also huge! Since the property is so large, they have golf carts that can take you from wherever you are to your room and the staff was very very nice! They also have cute little cottages around the green belts... some complete with orange trees growing in their front yard! The room that I stayed in was huge and overlooked the pool and jacuzzi area. I even noticed that they had water aerobics on one of the mornings... And it was packed! I also tried the spa which was very nice with its own pool and relaxation rooms, a fabulous women's lounge complete with lockers for your items to be kept safe and a small but fabulous gift shop! This day I opted for the Desert aloe body scrub, which was amazing! After they scrub you down, they slather you with aloe and wrap you up like a burrito....you leave feeling like you have new skin! The Lichfield restaurant is fantastic! And the service was very classy! I also tried the pizza place across the street from this property as people say it's some of the best! I'd say it was in my top 10 for sure! My last day I finally made it to breakfast.... I loved this! The restaurant has an adorable outdoor sitting area that's perfect for a casual breakfast. Everything I ordered was fantastic! I am not a golfer, but the grounds look spectacular! I would say if you're looking for a relaxing getaway weekend and you are a golfer this is a great resort to stay at. It is about 40 minutes away from Scottsdale.

Just had the Cobb salad with honey mustard dressing. It was horrible. Spicy and couldn't eat. First time in 16 years going here that I was disappointed with a meal.

The Wigwam, Arizona's award-winning 440-acre resort couples historic charm with a truly modern sense of adventure. Situated in Litchfield Park, Arizona, The Wigwam is a cornerstone of the West Valley that offers abundant and accessible opportunities to enjoy first-class dining, entertainment, recreation and adventure. I came here to enjoy their pool and bar area. I loved it here! Service for breakfast was wonderful and the breakfast itself. The pool lounge was enjoyable, pool service was terrific. Then back to the bar area for lunch, and the burger was amazing, you can taste it was grilled over flames.

We came in for a special event on NYE. Just one single night. Stayed in a "garden suite". As I was trying to make it social for my pregnant wife, I did call ahead and book amenities to have in the room upon arrival. S'mores and milk, guacamole, etc. I opened rhe mini fridge to have the milk spill all over me, then I see the guacamole which looks OLD. But im still charged for these things. Then I look to use the s'mores to only find out there is no fire pit at the room or even nearby. You have to go to the front of the resort to even enjoy this amenity- maybe you should inform people before you charge them for a single smore... Then as I try to put clothes away I see they don't actually clean the room and people have left dirty clothes in the drawers. This sure doesn't feel like a luxury experience... I ignore this to take a shower to find the shower only shoots cold water- so I take a freezing shower. And of course the last disgusting thing I find is hair in the tub- but not my hair. Very disappointed

Came for a quick staycation in late January. The property is beautiful and well maintained. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The Aveda spa was a treat and very relaxing! Plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

    Flowerbed on walk way

We came with our travel hockey team. And the property was amazing! From the outside to the inside truly beautiful. The rooms are huge and the bathrooms are large. But the showers are insanely slippery!!!! I fell getting into the shower. No soap or anything on the floor and wham down I went. Hurting my back and shoulder. I did let the front desk know and asked for a bath mat which they promptly provided. But I did miss out on the tennis courts and pool. My son on the other hand loved the pool, pickleball courts, and the fitness room. I also enjoyed listening to the live music from the patio at the art festival they had. Also got a cute little tattoo. The food did take a while to get but the portions and price were decent. Would go back but with a bath mat for sure.

Had lunch by the pool, ordered from the Wigwam Bar. Staff were attentive and brought us food and drinks to the pool. At night for Christmas they have a little light path, which is adorable for kids to walk through. This place is very peaceful.

Ask the Community - The Wigwam

Is there a brunch that locals can make a reservation to attend?

I would hesitate. After two great brunches in 2019, we went to the Thanksgiving Brunch in 2021. They ran out of turkey and served cold stuffing. It was a major disappointment. For what it cost, we could have gone to Denny's and had great meals.

Is the resort pool fun for 4 year olds who are not tall enough for the water slide?

They have several pools and I've seen kids in them

The beds are super comfortable, the rooms are spacious and the staff are all very welcoming and nice. Breakfast is free and a lot of great options. Spacious parking lot with ample spaces. The hotel has a pool but we've never used it. Looks clean, though! The air conditioning in the room is perfect! The fitness room is really nice! Two treadmills, one elliptical and a bike. As a pet friendly hotel, I appreciated the pet area. I did NOT appreciate the maintenance workers that made it a point to showcase their fear of my pit bull/boxer mix. If you're afraid of dogs, please don't work in a hotel that allows pets. Breakfast is not worth it. It's all grab and go stuff. NO chairs by the pool, so even if we wanted to go swimming, there'd be nowhere for us to relax afterwards. We did hang out in the hot tub for a bit, but had to bring the towels from our room since none were available at the pool.

A Disquisition on Hospitality at Tru by Hilton Phoenix Glendale Westgate: Or, How One Man's Virtue…read moreRedeems the Mundane By Capt. 619, Peripatetic Scholar of Transient Domiciles and Human Excellence Let us first dispense with the axiomatic: the modern hotel, in its essence, is an exercise in utilitarian homogeneity. A room, as Kant might posit, is a synthetic a priori--a space defined not by its inherent qualities, but by its function. Tru by Hilton Phoenix Glendale Westgate adheres to this universal truth. Its chambers are serviceable, its amenities competent, its aesthetic an echo of the Platonic "Form of the Mid-Tier Lodging." On the scale of Aristotelian potentiality, it achieves a hexad (6/10)--a respectable, if unremarkable, actualization of shelter. Yet! Here lies the rub: hospitality, as Seneca observed, is not a static condition but a dynamic virtue. And in this locus, virtue found its avatar in Richard, a steward of such magnanimity that he transmuted leaden routine into golden experience. I. The Telos of Service: Richard as the Unmoved Mover Each dawn, as Helios' chariot crested the Arizona horizon, Richard greeted guests with a Socratic inquiry: "What may I do to render your day excellent?" Not a hollow pleasantry, but a dialectic--an invitation to co-create eudaimonia. His attentions were neither obsequious nor perfunctory, but precise as Aquinas' Five Ways. Forgotten toothpaste materialized; coffee preferences were memorized with the rigor of a Benedictine scribe; local dining recommendations bore the insight of a seasoned flâneur. In him, the hotel's potential 6 became an actualized 10. II. The Paradox of Hospitality: Substance vs. Accident Let us parse the Categories. The hotel's substance (rooms, linens, waffle irons) belongs to the genus "Adequate." But its accidents--the staff, the ethos--are where essence resides. Richard, like Descartes' genius malignus in reverse, dissolved skepticism with each act of grace. A traveler who, like myself, dwells 200 nights yearly in interchangeable abodes learns this: marble foyers fade; human warmth endures. III. The Ethical Imperative To proprietors of such establishments, heed Aristotle: "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit." Richard's excellence is habitual, his ethos contagious. He is the phronimos of hospitality, embodying practical wisdom where others merely follow script. Conclusion: A Summa of Transient Flourishing Tru by Hilton is, in itself, a cipher. But within its walls operates a man who elevates the prosaic to the profound. To stay here is to witness a Thomistic proof: Existence precedes essence. The hotel exists; Richard gives it essence. Verdict: 6/10 (sine Richard); 10/10 (cum Richard). Fellow wayfarers--seek him. For in a desert of mediocrity, he is the oasis. "Non nobis solum nati sumus." --Capt. 619, Emeritus Fellow of the Collegium Hospitium et Peregrinationis
