This has to have the absolute best staff of all Marriott's, it has to be the quietest, most comfortable, and absolutely delicious Marriott around this are! The beds are sooooo comfy and the decor is sexy! Love it! This is a new hotel and it shows, it's super clean and the water gets nice and hot if you like a hot bath or shower. Check in is easy and it's a gift to interact with the staff here. I did ask for a quiet room and maybe that's why mine is so fabulous, I see some other reviews about noise and in my room it's 0 noise. Maybe the other side of the hotel, I'm not sure, I can just tell you my experience which has been top notch! This is my favorite Marriott in the area. My first choice in brand of hotels!!! Everything was just as I needed it, especially with it being 108 degrees outside you need all the comfort that can be provided in the inside on top of granting me a late check out, due to a late flight. This was a great example of best in class and excellence in customer service with a topping of appreciation. Hotel was clean, quiet and nearby to plenty of eateries as well, so another plus. Underwhelming. This Courtyard location is on the wrong side of being average for a hotel in this class. Some of the blame rests on me, like the fact they charge $9 for a basic continental breakfast, or that they don't have a microwave in the room (but they do have a fridge and coffee machine?).. I didn't read the fine print when booking apparently. Then again all other hotels in this class have those items included. But what's 100% on Courtyard is that they fraudulently stated a pullout "sofa bed". They define a sofa bed as a love seat with a tiny matress pullout with zero support as a "sofa bed". One adult would definitely NOT want to sleep on it. Even their pictures are misleading. Room was ok but the bathroom was in dire need of a remodel. Fluorescent light was blinking on and off. Stingy with soap and complimentary bath products. SAFETY ISSUES: You'll see the homeless / shady people on bikes as soon as you drive into the parking lot. There were a bunch of pros & cons to our stay. Coffee: We were given 1 bag of caffeinated and 1 bag of decaf for a 2 night stay. Each came with 1 sugar & 1 creamer. Bedding: There were no extra pillows But, there was an extra sheet & blanket Storage: The closet, drawers & bedside tables were sufficient Couch: Uncomfortable and terrible for my neck Desk area & chair: Both were nice. TV: It was a nice size tv, but you couldn't angle it so you could view it in bed Bathroom: Small, but nice enough No cups were issued for brushing teeth Front Desk Staff: Very friendly, accommodating, helpful Bar/Bistro: Fantastic staff Decent cobbler Decent cheesecake Good Starbucks iced cappuccino Cleaning: The staff was friendly, efficient, and kept our hotel room safe Overall, I was unimpressed for the cost. Over the past ten years we've stayed at this location 6 times, it's been 3 years since last stay prior to this week. This location has gone way down hill. To start the parking is extremely minimal, the lobby hasn't changed but was not inviting as it wasn't very clean. The elevator was extremely hot, but worse, it shook as it came to a stop in both up and down direction. The rooms, carpet was dirty as well stained, hairs in both beds, as well the bathroom and shower was disgusting. Had we been able to find another room in a hurry for the night we'd absolutely have gone elsewhere. Marriott needs to come in an do some serious work at this location, specifically as they state it's recently been renovated. read more

This hotel is ok if you need to be next to Fear Farm and their bistro food--avocado toast was amazing!! Other than that our King room had handicap accessible offerings (we did not book) but very claustrophobic!! I tossed and turned both nights so I was not comfortable at all. The shower had lots of mold-yuck! The pool was green-eew ! We come to AZ to see family and needed a place to stay near an event but after this experience we will definitely stay elsewhere next time. read more

The rooms are average but clean and comfy. The service was fantastic and the breakfast available in the lobby in the mornings is very cool. They have a tv at every table to chill or work while you have coffee and eat. They gave us breakfast vouchers which was so sweet! We got in late and there wasn't much but frozen meals at the desk. So in the morning we were starving. Just in and out but really was impressed with the service. read more

Another visit to Courtyard while in Phoenix. The rates were much higher because of Thanksgiving holiday, but the stay was still comfortable and location convenient. Noteworthy: Firm mattresses. Cozy comforter. Abundant pillows. Huge shout out to Bradley at the front desk. I called before arriving to request late check in. No problem. There'd be rooms available. When we got there he was still on duty helping another travel weary couple. Bradley was personable. Upbeat. Positive throughout his conversation. They talked about their children, why they were traveling to Phoenix, local golfing, and their hometown (near Bradley's hometown). All the while he was steadily searching for a room, getting their key, conveying additional services they might use during their stay. They seemed to chat an awful long time, but I wasn't in a hurry so I eavesdropped. Once they were on their way he focused exclusively on me and provided the exact same degree of attention and personable service. Impressive. That's a man in the right job. Additional shout out to Lettie for keeping our rooms spotless. We had a delightful stay, and will definitely be back. read more

I was definitely 50/50 about rating this hotel. I had such a horrible stay in Arizona, and I was hoping getting to my hotel and passing out was going to be easy. Apparently there was a problem with the reservation even though I called 2x to confirm before I even left. When I got there they couldn't find our reservation and she had to end up giving us comp rooms until the situation got figured out. Customer service was ALWAYS 10/10. There needs to be more detail w how they clean. I found some issues w my hotel, no problem I just did what I could. Because of COVID there was no room service, pool/jacuzzi was closed & green, no gym. The smokers area seriously needs to be cleaned & SOOO many ants in that area omg. How come the non smokers get the nice couches? I personally really enjoyed how the tv slides out and moves left to right for the perfect angle to watch greys anatomy in bed! ‍ I'm a clean freak so how long has it been since those couches in the rooms have been deep cleaned? Just saying... $10 for a pint of icecream?? And it's not even Ben & Jerry's??? Step of your game Marriott!! I believed in you, we all we were rooting for you! read more

Great location right off the freeway. We stopped to spend the night after driving for 15 hours; we needed a good nights sleep. Front desk was very courteous and accommodating. We were there during the coronavirus pandemic and social distancing was encouraged so no free breakfast was being served. Front desk did provide us each with a goody bag to take to our room upon checking in. The room was spacious with 2 queen beds and nice couch and room for more on the floor. Receptionist provided extra sheets, blankets and pillows and my teenager slept on the carpet with plenty of blankets. Room had microwave, mini fridge and a flat screen tv. We had a comfortable nights sleep. It's on the pricey side however well worth it. read more

First day was good. Was able to check in early and very nice front desk agents. Second day I found a large spider and wasps nest. The nest was right out side the patio. Front desk agent took care of the spider but I was not offered any compensation or even to move rooms. Needless to say I slept with one eye open. The hotel and staff were very nice, but the lobby Bistro is extremely expensive and they make "short" specialty coffees! It is best to purchase your wine or beer at the Lobby Marketplace and just enjoy it at one of the bistro tables! As an example, the Bistro charged $20 per glass for Simi Chardonnay, but you can buy a 1/2 bottle (equivalent to two glasses) of J. Lohr Chardonnay at the marketplace for $12.50! But the hotel location is good....close to Dodgers Dpring Training and the Westgate Entertainment District. read more

We were in town for a concert at the Ak-Chin Pavilion. The Courtyard was only a few miles away from the venue so it worked perfectly! We had arrived a little early than the normal check in time. Luckily they were accommodating and let us have our room to get settled. The front desk associates were very polite and professional! Check in and check out was a breeze. The room was more than I expected. The sitting room with the desk, tv and wet bar was all separate from the bedroom. It was more than spacious and comfortable. The bedroom/bathroom had the same feel. Very spacious and clean. There is a closable door between areas so you could easily have privacy if someone was staying in the sitting room. With the comfort and cleanliness of this hotel, I would absolutely stay here again. Thanks for a wonderful stay! read more

This hotel is tired.. The beds are the worst I've slept in in a very long time . There is damage around the shower that is very obvious and has not been fixed. I have attached a picture. This is maybe a 2 star hotel though the people were very friendly and hospitable. The owner needs to spend a few bucks to repair the Bathroom door would not close it has swollen. Room 309. The Courtyard Phoenix West/Avondale was my home away from home last weekend when I was in the area for a concert. Check in was easy but understanding the check in clerk was not. Slow down, dude. I know it's old hat to you and you can probably recite the amenities in your sleep (and I love your accent but not when you speak so fast!) but your guests need to know and understand what we're paying for. You said breakfast is served during a certain time period but then you quickly mentioned something about $9.95. And happy hour. You've got happy hour, I like that. But it's not complimentary, is it? You don't say that but why even mention it. It was all very confusing to me and my girls. We got up to our room, looked at each other and all said, "What?" We had a basic room with 2 beds but it was very nice and comfortable. Beds were lovely, the cute and comfy chair and ottoman were great and I love a room with a little fridge. I don't understand why all hotels don't offer mini refrigerators. Good thing I brought a blow dryer because this hotel doesn't have them in the bathrooms. Super bonus points for having several make up removal towelette in the bathroom!! My girls and I L.O.V.E.D. that little bonus! This hotel also offers complimentary hot coffee, hot water and tea bags in the foyer in front of the elevators. We decided to try the happy hour on our way out before catching a taxi for the concert and were directed to a meeting room. Apparently the "restaurant" and bar are under construction and set up in a meeting room for limited hours. Ummm, awkward. We weren't feeling the vibe although the bartender was really nice to us. It just felt really weird and conventiony. I sound whiny and bitchy but truth be told, I enjoyed my stay here and look forward to staying at this convenient location when I'm back up here in October for another concert. read more

Husband and I stayed here for 2 nights while he did stuff with military. We got a good discount off of the original price with my husband's employee rating. The hotel was very clean and smelled good walking into the lobby. There is a nice little bar/cafe that had really nice bartenders making strong drinks. The cafe in the morning has breakfast meals for purchase as well as Starbucks Coffee. I tried the Healthy Start egg sandwich with egg whites, cheese, spinach, and a nice toasty bread, it was $7 and change. The sandwich was very yummy and came with a tiny bowl of mixed fruit. We got the King Bed room with a small pullout sofa. Room was nicely decorated and clean. I loved the pull out rotating TV stand. There was a nice cold mini fridge, coffee maker, double stand-in shower with bench, comfy bed, clean linens, granite counters, closet, hair dryer, extra bedding for sofa bed, and an extra pull-out desk I guess if you need it. The Hotel is outstanding. Ivonne and her staff accommodate all the guests and make them feel Special. They make you feel at home. The Bistro has outstanding service. From the morning crew when you awake, to the night crew like, Marcy and Ashley who do an outstanding job. Came to town for an early gymnastics meet. The hotel location was fabulous and the check in was easy. Got here early (check in is at 3 we got here at 3:30) and asked to have a higher level room. Was given a room on the second floor. The room great! Just as we were getting ready to settle in, it started. The party downstairs. Our room, directly above the party. The music was excessively loud to the extent that it rattled a container we had sitting on a counter. It was non stop! The doors were even rattling. We were never warned that a party was going to be occurring. Just a little annoyed by the lack of communication and warning of event. We have many more meets coming up but I know that we will NEVER stay here again. read more

So the noise level was good. Good breakfast in the AM at a reasonable price, and drinks in the PM. Cons: Parking. The hotel was sold out I believe and parking is not ideal, but free. The first night we checked in we went to dinner and came back to the room and it smelled like a septic tank. Not sure why. The smell did not last. Communication is clearly an issue among staff at this hotel as they don't even tell front desk staff everything is closing early on a Friday night! The hotel is nice, the rooms are great. However service is the worst. I was woken up at 1am by a bunch of loud noisy people drinking and slamming doors. Screaming and laughing I thought maybe they would quite down. 30min to an Hour go by so we call the front desk. We had to call 3x and still nothing was done. All they did was barely knock to tell them to be quiet. After they left the people just went back to yelling. The only option we were given was for us to move. So if you want to stay up all night have a loud party and scream come here no one will stop you. If you want sleep and actually enjoy the night go somewhere else. read more

We were in Arizona for a business trip over Easter weekend and stayed at this hotel Saturday night. The staff was really professional and quick to help with anything we needed. We had a room right by the pool on the lower floor, which at night can be loud when people walk by the pool. The room was clean and the shower pressure was good, as well as the beds being very comfortable. The MAJOR downfall and the reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the in house restaurant was only open for breakfast and then later for dinner. This was inconvenient as there are no restaurants that are really close. You can walk to some but in 90 degree weather it is still a bit of a walk. Having lunch options onsite (for when you are by the pool, etc.) would be a major improvement. Overall good stay. read more

I had a wonderful time staying at this hotel and my review would have been much higher if I wrote it on the plane ride home. To be fair I will list the good and the bad. For those who do not care for details the shorthand version is, great hotel to stay in, but watch your bank account closely. During: The hotel is nice, everything was clean. The bartender is a fun time, I reccommend having a drink with him before heading out for the night. The only slight issues I noticed during my stay were that the location is not walking friendly to anything so I would suggest downloading Uber if you do not have a car and that the front counter is over priced (Over $5 for 2 small water bottles). That being said I would have given the hotel at least a 4 star rating upon check out. Post: When I checked out I did not have any charges on my account. A few days after returning home I noticed a $5 sale charge pending on my account from the hotel. I thought it may have been a hold fee from when I put the card down for incidentals, but called to have it corrected once the charge went through. Customer service was very nice and told me they would credit the amount back to my account immediately. Rather than fixing the problem they charged me yet again. I called back a few days later once that charge went through to have the double charge corrected and was told a manager would refund both charges and I would get a call within 30 minutes. After 24 hours of no contact from a manager and no update to the charges I took the dispute to my bank. Within 2 minutes my bank refunded my money and I can end my pointless 2 week attempt to work with the hotel staff. read more

This hotel was okay for what we came here for, a graduation that was right down the street. Pros : it was clean and quiet, and was centrally located to everywhere we needed to be. Cons: the hotel claims "official hotel of the NFL", however they only played the games that were on regular tv, so we had to go elsewhere to watch the Patriots game. Also, the Bistro is only open at 5pm, so with nothing in walking distance, they didn't have anything for lunch. When I went to order champagne splits from the front desk, they were out.. and didn't have many other drinks to choose from. When we went to the pool/jacuzzi around 7pm, everything was blacked out, no lights on and the jacuzzi had a very strong chlorine smell to it. Overall it was an "okay" hotel, but for the price and for it being a Marriott, I was expecting better. read more
