I especially loved working with Patti, one of the leasing agents here. I've known her as a resident for several years, and she was invaluable and savvy in helping me renew my lease this year. The maintenance staff, including Moe and Ryan, and our outstanding concierge, Stanley, are accommodating, upbeat, and seem to enjoy working here, which adds that extra special touch. DO NOT MOVE HERE. This building is nowhere near the "luxury" experience they advertise. The biggest issue is the management--it's absolutely terrible. Communication with residents is minimal or nonexistent, and the building is consistently mismanaged. When communication does happen, it is not timely or informative and is usually condescending. In the 8 months I've lived here, there have been around 70 car break-ins across both the free and "secure" parking areas. At least two residents have already moved out due to severe mold problems (particularly on the northwest side of the building). The building itself feels run down and outdated. Many amenities are poorly maintained or completely unusable. The front desk concierge is rarely at the desk because management is chronically understaffed and has them running errands instead. If you want to switch units within the building, they charge you $1000 just to move. You're also forced to use their $30/month trash valet, even if you live steps away from the trash chute--and right now trash is piling up because the chute is out of order. The prices listed on their website are misleading; residents pay much more, and if you want to renew without a price hike, you have to fight it out with the corporate office. One of the most disturbing issues is the handling of resident safety and welfare. During my time here, two residents in their 30s have died by suicide. In one case, the individual passed away in their apartment and went undiscovered for a month, despite multiple wellness check requests from friends, family, and the police. Management claimed "policy" prevented them from acting. The resident was only found after maintenance responded to reports of an odor. This situation was deeply troubling and raises serious concerns about the building's response protocols and duty of care. The only positives are the maintenance team and leasing staff. They are quick, friendly, and genuinely skilled. Overall, there is nothing "luxury" about this building except the rent. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere. Capitol View and their parent company Northwood Ravin do not care about retaining you as a resident nor do they have your well being at heart. read more

I recently signed a lease here and I am so pleased!! The entire process was amazing, which is something you'll never hear when people talk about apartment hunting. From the moment I walked in the doors and met our leasing specialist Tobi, I knew this was the place I would choose. Not only was Tobi extremely personable and detailed on our tour, the building itself is beautiful and the amenities are amazing. Everything is kept very clean and even the hallways smell fresh. It is a very secure surrounding area with so much to offer as well. Everyone I run into in the building is so nice and friendly, it truly feels like a community and not just another apartment complex. Even my pets are loved and welcome, something that you won't find everywhere. Paying a bit more in rent is well worth it to me for a living experience that is 20/10. I couldn't be happier with my choice to live here! read more

When we first toured this place back in July, we absolutely fell in love. We were relocating from Texas to Nashville for a job, and this place just felt right. I remember vividly saying "this place is too good to be true" - sadly, I was correct. We moved in August 1st, and today is November 11th. That means we have only lived here for roughly 3.5 months. Within 3.5 months we have 1) found out we were living practically next door to someone who was deceased and decaying for over a month, while I was 6 months pregnant, after mentioning several verbal complaints about the smell and concern for this individual to staff. Nothing was done or taken seriously, and in fact, staff just gossiped about the person instead of taking action. Not a single welfare check was done and their response? "well you should have called the police sorry there's nothing we can do". They then continued to gate keep information from all residences affected by the situation (like neighbors) and wanted to pretend like nothing happened. When we started raising concerns and threats about negligence, then they panic ran around and put a sign on everyone's door that said "unfortunately we experienced death on property." with no solutions or information, just a "covering our asses" letter. That's not even the worst part though. In 3.5 months we have also experienced not 1, not 2, but THREE smashed window vehicle break ins. Midn you, we pay a monthly fee to park in the "secure" garage. The first break in they stole my boyfriends pistol. Because of this, we have been forced to leave our doors unlocked and pray each week we don't wake up to another break in. We did today. Each time the break in has happened, it has ran us $500+ to replace the windows. After paying for today's incident, we will be at roughly $2,000 spent repairing damage in, once again, THREE AND A HALF MONTHS. I am pregnant, I do not feel safe here, and it is absolutely draining us of money. Besides all of that, which I know falls on property management, I do want to call out that Stanley, Alyssa, Darci, and JJ, who all work here, are fantastic. This is all just unfortunately above their pay grade. read more

There's even a Publix on the first floor! Okay so amenities are nice and all but how's the staff? Well... I'm glad you asked because they have an all star lineup. Let's start with the management team of Shawn, Melenda and Tobi. Each and every one of them deserves an A+ for hospitality. Anything you need, they have it covered from day one. Have a question about apartments, packages, amenities and activities ask away! Have a new innovative way to make you and your neighbors experience better at Capitol view? They're all ears! Have a fun idea for an event at their club room? Let them know! They host tons of fun events, whether that be Super Bowl parties, drink and shops(in collaboration with local boutiques), or summer pool parties, there's always something to do. What about the maintenance? Let's ask the question, how long does a maintenance request take to complete at your local apartment complex? 4-6 hours? Some even days? Some.. maybe never? Well I've put in over 10 maintenance requests since I've been here and each one was taken care of within 1-2 hours and not only done, but done right, because who wants to have to resubmit a ticket for the same issue? Is it noisy? Never. The architecture team did a great job at installing thick walls with even thicker ceilings and floors, I didn't know I had an upstairs neighbor until 6 months after moving in when I asked the leasing office if the apartment above me was occupied! Have a dog? They're super dog friendly, My dog gets greeted with treats and love every time she enters the building and especially after a round of exercise at the huge dog park right across the street. That pretty much wraps it up. Reminder although this review does seem like a review for a 5 star resort, it is a review for a luxurious apartment complex that you can live at year round! read more

So I've lived in Nashville for three years and the previous two places I lived I had more than my fair share of problems. I toured this community in the first 10 minutes of being here felt like it was home. The first two people I met with Carly and Brian and when I say they are a blast to talk to you and be around I mean nothing less than that. The community is beautiful. The amenities are awesome. The convenience of being around so many shops, and having Publix underneath it's amazing to say the least. They made me feel welcome and I couldn't have hoped for a better experience. We moved in this summer and have had nothing short of a fantastic experience. The leasing office staff are friendly and accommodating, often times going above and beyond to help residents. The common areas are kept clean, and regular preventative maintenance occurs to keep the building looking brand new. Speaking of maintenance, the team here is friendly, QUICK, and does solid work. This place is a joke! First, I think it's relatively funny that all reviews on this page are from users who have 1-2 reviews total. We have been living here since June 2019. The walls are paper thin! They sell all their wonderful amenities that are usually broken down or unsanitary. Looking for coffee? Expect long lines at their one and only machine, but don't forget your cup because they will never spend the $$$ to restock cups. Pretty interesting when a charging thousands of dollars for rent. The leasing staff here are some of the most unprofessional people I've ever dealt with in business. When we first leased our unit the agent mentioned that we would hear nothing from the downstairs gym because of their high grade "sound proof tiles" Once more people moved in the gym became a major issue and when I approached the leasing staff they informed me there were never sound proof tiles installed. With a new born baby, I asked them to move to another unit but they proceeded to say they would have to charge me extra... when they lied to me about the unit in general!!!!!!!! The fire alarm goes off constantly!!!! STAY AWAY! You can live at 505 for the same price and high class staff! read more

I use the gym and the office area all of the time. Lots of events for residents every month. Management is fantastic and so easy to work with. We lived here for 21 months, and would highly recommend. The building is well-maintained, clean and quiet, management is very responsive. The amenity floors are beautiful and the fitness center is great. The location is very handy, less than 1 mile walk to Broadway less than 1 mile walk to Midtown, the Publix is in the first floor of the building. Several nice restaurants shopping and fitness centers in the surrounding few blocks. The one downside is the train track, if you are near the tracks it can be loud. I moved in here about six months ago and could not be happier! Due to the pandemic, I visited only virtually (from a different state) ahead of moving and Carly in the leasing office was amazing! She answered my *million* questions about the building and about Nashville, and she helped me secure the perfect apt for me. I really enjoy the community activities that Tobi (the concierge) runs, too--she's awesome and the activities are a great way to meet people! The building is centrally located, easy walking distance from downtown, the Gulch, the Nashville Farmers Market, and even Germantown. I saw some negative reviews about noise, so I just wanted to give my opinion: Yes, the walls aren't the thickest, but I've lived in apartments for 20 years and the noise level here seems comparable to my previous apt experiences. If you're not used to / okay with some neighbor noise, this might not be the place for you. Anyway, overall five stars from me! :) read more

We've lived at Capitol View for just over a year now and have loved every minute of it. In fact, we just resigned our lease for another year. We came from a property that didn't have the best property management team, getting in touch with them was impossible, and the property was always a mess, but we just accepted it knowing that apartment life can be that way. But when we moved to Capitol View we were pleasantly surprised with the staff and their timeliness in responding to any inquiries. The amenities are amazing and you can't beat the location. The residents are also super friendly. Our apartment itself is spacious and well insulated. We're close to the train which sucks because it can get loud but you have to expect noise when living in such a developing city like Nashville. Overall we love our home at Capitol View! read more

I've looked at and visited most large apartment complexes in the midtown/gulch/Germantown areas. The first time I walked in Capitol View I knew it was the right one. The building, amenities and most importantly customer service are all 5 star quality. The staff goes above and beyond for the tenants of the building. I've dealt directly with Darci and Katie, and they are both incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. The entire front office staff is very friendly, and it is always a pleasant experience when dealing with them. The building is well maintained, very clean etc. They really thought of everything when they built this place. Publix is on the ground level of the building-which is a big deal-especially for southerners. Some of the amenities include a massive business center-great for those who work from home, an extremely nice and well kept gym, saunas, hot tub, & a large pool that actually gets sunlight (not enclosed by walls like so many other buildings). The building is across the street from a brand new dog park, has easy access to the interstate, and is easily walkable to downtown. I highly recommend The Residences at Capitol View. read more

I lived in the Residences from July 2020- August 2021. My main complaint is how terribly thin the walls/ceilings are. I could hear every move the person above me made.. when the person went to the bathroom, when he/she cooked, when the couple got in a fight, I could hear EVERYTHING. I complained to the front office from the 2nd day that I moved in. Over my 13 month lease, I complained 14 times with video proof. I was told that I basically just had to deal with it. For the price that the units go for, I don't think that is a reasonable solution. I asked to get out of my lease 3 months early due to the noise and was not granted that either. Also, the elevators are down very frequently and are very busy. The trash can in the parking garage vestibule is always overflowing and causing gross smells and liquids all over the entry way. When a simple solution would just be to buy another trash can? There are tons of pets that urinate and defecate in the lobbies pretty frequently. The only redeeming qualities are the location and the pool. But even the pool is closed often and has really strange hours. The staff and maintenance team are nice and pretty responsive. Overall, it is not worth the money for the space and quality you receive. Rent a house and get way more bang for your buck! Also- FYI.. a lot of the positive reviews are from residents who just want to get points towards free things through the complex.. so don't believe them all! Best of luck! read more

My husband and I recently moved into the building and absolutely love it! These apartments are top of the line in the area for rentals. We did a ton of research before signing a lease, and this was our number one through and through. We worked with Sara and Alyssa and both of them worked hard to get everything expedited for us as we needed a quick turnaround --since we were moving with short notice. Sara was our first point of contact and was very thorough in showing us all the different layouts. The staff here has been extremely kind and attentive!! I have been officially moved in and living here for a week now. I have to say, it's likely the fanciest place I've ever lived. I've never leased an apartment quite this large, nor have I had so many amenities before. It's convenient to have the space in the living room for my grand piano and I get to enjoy quite a lovely view while I'm playing it. They keep the property and facilities clean and well-maintained, and they've done a lovely job with the decor, too. So far I've met Darci, Tobi and Adam from the leasing office and they are so welcoming, kind and helpful. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the trash service. It's a service you have to pay for, but they can't take large items like furniture pieces or in my case a mattress. My expensive mattress got ruined in the move and having to pay $90 to have it hauled off just poured salt in the wound. Maybe that's how it is everywhere down here now, I don't know. I came from New York where you could throw stuff out on the sidewalk and the next morning it was gone. Anyway! Other than that one detail I'm thrilled to live here and so far would highly recommend. read more

I have lived here since March 2018 and have no plans of moving anytime soon. The location is perfect as it is close to the heart of downtown without all the noise that comes with it. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance, fitness areas across the street, and a Publix directly downstairs. The leasing agents are always friendly, saying hello every time I pass by the office. They go above and beyond by doings things for the residents they're not even required to do. Amenities do break down from time to time but management/maintenance has always had them fixed within a few hours. The concierge works hard to make sure noise violations are handled quickly. The split screen screen in the clubroom is great for game days as you can watch up to 4 different games at one. I wish the hot tub was outside but overall, I love the amenities. We are relocating to Nashville and decided we would like to try Urban Living. We are downsizing from a 5 bedroom house in the suburbs of Knoxville, to a two bedroom apartment. We visited and toured several apartment buildings in downtown Nashville, but none came close to Capitol View. They clearly have the best location, amenities, and value for the dollar, of all that we toured. Best of all, they have an incredible staff! Darci's customer service, knowledge, helpful advice, and sincere interest in addressing our concerns and apprehension about such a transition, was instrumental in our decision. We are just beginning our new adventure, but can already tell that we made the right decision! read more

One of the worst complexes to live in! First of all, I was never given a full tour of the property as I moved in from out of state. The leasing person just handed me my keys at move in and I wandered around until I found my apartment and the amenities. The fire alarms went off multiple times a week for at least 30 minutes in the middle of the night with no answer as to why it was happening. Every time I went to go use one of the amenities it was "under maintenance". More than half the time the ONE coffee machine for an entire complex is out of coffee if you don't get there before 7:30 am and even if you do, make sure you have time to wait in line! They will have fun "events" for the complex but clearly they are expecting all of 10 people to show up with the amount of food and beverages they offer. The carpet hallways (if you have multiple dogs on your floor) reek of urine and never once did I see someone clean it up. The parking garage entrance by the door to third floor was constantly flooded with the trash can overflowing. Oh not to mention when they decided they wanted to just turn off the elevators for maintenance with ZERO warning to residents, so lucky me, I got stuck inside one trying to call downstairs for help. They said they'd send someone and 20 minutes later someone finally got me out. The staff is extremely prideful all but the complex is very money greedy. The apartments are way overpriced, small, and you can hear everyone walking in the hall and your neighbors, & dogs barking. The staff will just tell you what you want to hear and send you on your way without doing a thing. I would look anywhere else first and live here as a LAST resort, but even then I wouldn't choose here. read more

The management and staff from the first day we contacted them have been extremely supportive with our move to Capitol View and ensured the best experience possible ever since. Alyssa was especially supportive to ensure we received the best deal possible and what we were looking for. Her flexibility to work with us despite our long distance during deployment made this the best and smoothest transition we could ever imagine. The location is impossible to beat in the Gulch, near the high way, walking distance from Downtown-Midtown-Germantown-etc!!!! Plus after researching and talking with over 9 different apartment complexes, the amenities here are unmatched. We believe we have the best staff and apartment in the city!
