Before signing the Settlement Affidavit I emailed him to confirm that my back benefits and back awards for my disability. He replied that I would in fact receive $80,000. Yesterday he emailed me to inform me that he had received his attorney fees and that my check had been lost in the mail. He also told me that I would now only be getting $47k instead of $80,000. He and one of the partners of Starr- Gern had argued with me some months earlier to take a very small offer from the insurance Co. I told them both that I wanted to go to trial. We did and I won with very little help from him. I don't know what Henry Cistrelli specializes in but can say from experience that I would be very surprised to hear that it is workers comp law. How would you feel if someone reached into your pocket and stole $32,000? Because that is exactly what it felt like. There are some wonderful NJ WC attorneys out there and my experience is that Henry is not one of them.

I was advised that the firm would need 30 days and then I would be advised if the firm would take my case. It took four months for the firm to come back and decide not to take me on. As a former civil paralegal myself, I know that the civil litigation window, as far as filing suit, is only two years. I lost three months while in holding. When I was finally advised that my case was declined, I received a copy of the formal letter via email only. That is very unprofessional. The only reason I will give two stars is that the paralegal was a gem. Now I have to look for another attorney before the window closes to sue. I would advise going somewhere else.

Just go home and get better, don't worry about a thing. He'd take it all the way to court, and right before the trial, make a sweet deal. Just go home and heal, he's got this! When I would call, my lawyer was often "sick" or "in court" or "at lunch", rarely able to talk on the phone. Needless to say, after a full year, he sees a small problem (info from an entire year before--it wasn't new) and entirely quits.
