Serious Safety & Liability Concerns - This Gym Puts Members at Risk…read more This gym is playing fast and loose with member safety, and it needs to be called out. The sauna has a clearly posted warning sign stating a maximum safe temperature of 185°F. Despite this, staff and management insist on running it at 200°F, knowingly exceeding their own posted safety limits. That alone is reckless and a massive liability issue. What made this worse: I entered the sauna first at a safe temperature. Another gym member then came in and turned the temperature up to 197°F, completely ignoring the warning sign. When I pointed out the posted safety limit, this individual became aggressive, threatened me, harassed me, and disturbed my peace while I was simply trying to protect my health. No member should feel unsafe--physically or verbally--while using a wellness facility. Management's response? Dismissive and unconcerned. Instead of addressing: * the unsafe temperature settings * the violation of posted safety guidelines * the harassment and threatening behavior by another member ...the manager failed to take the situation seriously at all. This gym is exposing itself to serious liability by: * Ignoring its own safety warnings * Allowing saunas to operate at dangerous temperatures * Failing to intervene when a member is threatened Saunas are supposed to support health--not endanger it. Until management starts prioritizing member safety, accountability, and basic respect, I strongly do not recommend this gym. Consider this a warning.

Another example of black people having to pay for white people mistakes…read more Problematic management for a black woman member. Lacks due diligence in member complaints from the top down. Noel, the manager, entered my parking validation incorrectly and I was asked to pay when I scanned my ticket. At the time parking officials were at the exit and I told them I was a member of 191 resolution fitness and my ticket was validated. I tried to rescan but the parking machine doesn't accept rescans. The parking people said they weren't going to assist so I called the gym to bring a new ticket because they screwed up my original. Noel sent some girl named Katie who not only did nothing but watched as the parking attendant called security on me. They threatened to tow my car and caused a huge scene. As a member of Resolution Fitness I receive 3 hours of validated parking. I was in the gym for 15 minutes. Noel hasn't offered an apology or acknowledged that she entered my validation incorrectly or offered a refund for the parking I paid for to end the ordeal that her carelessness and inability to do her job correctly created. More recently, I contacted Noel regarding personal training and she said she would have the trainer Matt contact me. A month passed and I ran into Matt and asked him if Noel informed him I was interested in personal training and he said no. Noel either has a personal bias against me or she is not capable of performing her job in a professional manner. 7/4/21: The retaliation and harassment have begun.

I in fact I live about 10-15 mins away from this gym but make the commute because it's great and worth it. What can I say. The trainers are awesome and the classes are wonderful! Some of the best group fitness classes I have ever had. I've tried big gym chains like 24 hour fitness and then smaller gyms like Pure Fitness in Austin and this one definitely takes the cake when it comes to group fitness. They offer body scultping, pilates, yoga, spin, zumba and more. What I love the most about this gym is that the people who come to this gym are REAL people. They don't come to the gym with a full set of makeup or to show off their fake boobs in a sports bra. They don't look like they have spent an hour getting ready to work out. It's such a breath of fresh air to be working out among real people. This gym provides towels, shirts, shorts, and even socks. The locker rooms are always equipped with plenty of bath towels, lotion, razors, shampoo/conditioner, hair styling products and more. It is clean and well kept. The people who work here are great too. If you are looking to be inspired or simply just looking for a great gym try Resolution Fitness and don't shy away from it simply because it's in a big building downtown.

Organized co-ed adult league kickball is very, very popular right now (and has been the past four…read moreor five years) in the young adult communities in many cities as both a social scene and also as a new recreational activity. WAKA (World Adult Kickball Association) seems to be the most popular kickball league in Atlanta, though it's getting some stiff competition lately from Go Kickball. WAKA games are played at Hammond Park near Perimeter Mall (In the Sandy Springs / Dunwoody area) and at Piedmont Park in Midtown. Occasionally other league game play locations become an additional option (Candler Park, Coan Park, or Marcus Center). Park play venues and days of the week that games are played are denoted by Divisions (Thrasher, Lightning, Liberty etc) You can register as an individual (free agent) and they will place you on a team. You can also sign up with 15 or so friends and create your own team. Fees vary, but generally run between 65 to 75 dollars for an eight week season. For your money, in addition to organized game play, you get a tee shirt and 2-3 season parties (typically at the league bar). The fee finances 2 or three parties at the league bar (where all the teams gather for after-game socializing, drinking and eating). League members also get discounts at the league bar on certain beverages and food items (but you often have to ask your server or bartender). Said discounts are only good on game day (rain or shine) even if games get canceled due to bad weather conditions. There are similarities and differences when comparing WAKA with Go Kickball. Both organizations have the "Kickball Culture" thing going which I will attempt to describe. Both are dominated by young professional types, mostly single, in their mid twenties to early thirties. You will find a small percentage are folks just out of college and, even fewer, some folks in their mid to late thirties; however, they make up an even smaller percentage. Many married / engaged / otherwise involved couples will also play on teams with or without their single comrades. Some describe the culture as akin to people re-living their frat / sorority days. The culture is also similar to the Hash Hound Harriers in that imbibing (before, during and after game play) is prevalent. Also similar to HHH , team names often have sexual innuendo in them (Multiple Scorgasms, Big Red Balls, My Couch Pulls Out But I Don't, ..Etc). There seems to be a fair amount of hooking up or coupling going on (among the singles who play kickball mainly to meet significant others) but with the numbers game of 60% guys and 40% women, the women have the clear advantage in that area. The most attractive and aggressive men generally have the advantage in beating the odds. WAKA generally has better parties but is more clique heavy / insular; whereas, Go Kickball generally (but not necessarily) has better, or more lively, after game socializing at the league bar. Go Kickball perhaps has more play venue / park choice options with leagues at Piedmont Park (Midtown), Central City Park (Downtown) , Cobb Park (Smyrna), Lynwood Park (Brookhaven) and ?Park (Kennesaw). If you are new to Atlanta (or any city where kickball is offered through one of the two organizations) Kickball is great way to meet new friends. Since most people have not played the game since grade school / middle school, everyone is starting out on a relatively level playing field. Soccer players definitely have an advantage from an offensive weapon standpoint.

WAKA is probably the most popular kickball league in Atlanta, though it's getting some competition…read morefrom Go Kickball. Waka games are played in Candler Park, located just south of Little Five Points. You can register a team or as an individual and they will place you on a team. I wanted to increase my overall strength and improve cardiovascular endurance, but I had no idea how to begin. Now, after 6 weeks with Corey and Body Design, I have lost 5.2% body fat and gained 5lbs in muscle. My heart rate after the endurance test dropped from 168bpm to 151bpm and I went from being able to do 0 push ups to doing 4 push ups. And my blood pressure dropped too! But most importantly, I feel more confident in knowing that I can do tough workouts and I can do them well! I have learned to make fitness a part of my daily routine. I've built the habits that will keep me healthy and strong. And another added bonus is that my migraine headaches have drastically reduced since starting the program. I really appreciate the clear cut program that Body Design offers. Thanks to the workout and nutrition plans, I know exactly what I need to do and eat each day. (PROTEIN!!) And thanks to the monthly testing incorporated into the program, I can clearly see the data that shows my efforts are making a difference. It gives such a boost to my motivation! I appreciated Corey's professionalism and knowledge. I learned so much from him about fitness, nutrition, and how to maximize my results. I had never worked with a trainer before and I was intimidated by the thought of it, but Corey was so supportive, my nerves faded after the first week. Class sizes were always 3 or fewer people, so I had lots of individual feedback and support. I could tell that Corey makes adjustments to meet every client at their level. So whether you are a seasoned pro, or brand new to strength training like I was, I highly recommend working with Body Design!

Also, the entire gym along with the changing rooms are really clean. They provide face towels both in the changing rooms and in the workout area, which is perfect for those who sweat like me and forgets to bring their own face towel. They also provide either paper towels or clean rags to wipe down the equipment after each use. There are sprays everywhere for the papers towels and rags, of course, but please make sure you spray those directly and not the machines (they have signs for this everywhere as well to make sure that the machine quality is maintained). I've only gone to this gym at around 9am, so I have no idea how packed it gets during the typical hours people go to the gym before or after work, but I can only imagine that it might get cramped due to its size and popularity in the area, so keep that in mind! I still recommend trying this place out!

Casual weekend members are the worst at this" is one from recent memory that totally makes sense. If that hurts your feelings... that's on you LOL. Finally, the bathrooms and showers are very nice. The people who work out here are friendly but also serious about their health and fitness. I have asked other gym goers questions before or to spot me and I have always gotten smiles and "of course!" in response. Finally, the price is reasonable! This is the best gym I have ever been a member of.
