I was in serious need of help remodeling, designing and setting up my homeschool classroom, which started as an outdated spare bedroom/office/storage/mess. I have always struggled with organization and was overwhelmed with where to start. After hearing about reSPACEd from a friend I contacted MaryJo, frantically I must say. She responded promptly, calming my frenzy, and scheduled a consultation. That first meeting was so great. She immediately recognized that I have Attention Deficit Disorder and I found out that she is an EXPERT on working with people that have it! I had no idea that my ADHD was the cause of my disorganization and I've actually learned more about it from her than any other source. She was helpful and suggested many solutions within the first meeting. She quickly set up a plan including a sketch of my new homeschool classroom (LOVED it!) and set to work through several sessions to address the clutter. She assisted me with going through all the stuff I had stored in that room... which was a lot. Her process is easy and thorough. I was amazed at the work she does outside of the sessions where she donates items that we no longer have use for. That is often where I fall short... I never get around to donating and end up throwing things away instead. MayJo is very professional. I thought she might tell me what to keep or get ride of, but instead she guides you through making your own decisions which is totally what I needed. ADHD people have a hard time making decisions and this was perfect! My favorite part was the task lists she made me. Similar to an executive assistant in corporate settings, she compiles a To Do list to work through the process of organizing. So helpful. Also, I was thankful that she sourced the exact items I would need to organize and set up my room OR REUSED ITEMS I ALREADY HAD ON HAND with affordability in mind. My homeschool room looks amazing because of all the work she did. These are magazine worthy results, I tell you, and I take pictures of my boys doing schoolwork in there all the time because it's gorgeous! Everything is accessible for my kids, storage is organized and the ambience is relaxing and pleasant... perfect for a learning environment. I also asked for MaryJo to make plans for our bathroom remodel, where she laid out planning for cabinet placement and storage. Our house is older and void of storage. MaryJo was able to also assist us with plans for storage in our boy's bedroom and our master bedroom. I recommend reSPACEd to everyone in need of organizing professionals and suggest them to friends that have ADHD as well as other specific challenges. WOW!!! What can I say. I had the opportunity to work with Mary Jo on what I called my "crap" craft room. A dumping ground, one not inspiring to do my paper crafts. With Mary Jo's enthusiasm, skill, humor and common sense it would have taken me all year to accomplish what we did in three sessions.
