I use Mill City Clinic as my primary care clinic since 2020. I've been there perhaps 15-20 times…read moreover 6 years, for annual wellness check-ups, whenever I've had infections or minor problems of any sort, when I need a referral, etc. The usual run of issues that happen to an older (early-to-late 60s) person. I've never had a problem getting a quick appointment, getting help from the nursing staff, or other delays. No problems whatever with my visit summaries going immediately to MyChart. As they're associated with the UM doctors' network I know I'm getting great care and when referred, will also be receiving superior treatment (I've had colon surgery and a hernia operation through their referrals. Overall one of the best clinics I've experienced over might lifetime.

Recruiting & Hiring:…read more Decency and Transparency: The lack of decency and glaring absence of transparency exhibited by M Physicians is both unbelievable and deeply disappointing. My frustration does not stem from being denied a job opportunity, but rather from the utter disregard for a meaningful commitment to diversity and equitable hiring practices. M Physicians claims to uphold values such as inclusiveness, equal opportunity, and community engagement through their Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion--yet their actions stand in stark contrast to these stated goals. It is disheartening to witness such a disconnect between stated commitments and lived experience. Here is a quote I wrote to self while back in my previous career. "In all that you do, lead with integrity, honesty, respect, dignity, and trust--and be transparent in every interaction." Of Aliyah Eden

As a 23-year-old Black woman trying to take my health seriously, this experience was extremely…read moreupsetting and disappointing. I came to this clinic seeking help for ongoing PCOS symptoms and concerns about possible ovarian cysts. During my appointment with Jessica, I became emotional because I felt like I was not being fully listened to -- but at no point was I aggressive or involved in a "heated conversation" like what was later documented in my chart. After reviewing my medical notes myself, I was hurt to see language that painted me as angry simply for advocating for my health and expressing concern. Jessica and I both agreed that getting an ultrasound was the next step. Unfortunately, days later I ended up hospitalized and missed the appointment, but that does not justify being labeled as difficult or being told I can no longer return to the clinic after only one visit. When Corey from management contacted me, I tried to calmly explain my side and felt completely dismissed. Instead of trying to resolve the situation or understand why I was upset, I felt pushed away and unheard. Black women already struggle with being taken seriously in healthcare settings, and this experience only reinforced that fear for me. I apologized in the office for crying because I was overwhelmed and scared about my health. To later see the situation reframed as if I was hostile was deeply upsetting and unfair. Patients deserve compassion, accurate documentation, and to feel safe advocating for themselves without being stereotyped or punished for speaking up.

I have some relatively complex issues related to CoViD and some other health issues I mostly brought on myself. I'm also gay, and we sometimes (sad to say, even in 2026) don't get the equal care we're entitled. That said, Katie Clark (PA-C) is simply the best. I was with a provider before her that left the practice and I was devastated, because we had such a great relationship. But Katie is just amazing! She listens when I babble, she listens when I cry. She's incredibly responsive, never judgmental, listens, cares, is kind. She's open to hear what's important to me, and what I feel I need, while having the objective information I need when my emotions are in the way of my own care. The entire staff is great, from check-in to blood draws. I couldn't be happier with my care there, and I actually look forward to seeing Katie when I go in!

When the EMTs arrived, they physically stabilized my father, but they didn't arrive at Robbinsdale North Memorial until an hour later. He spent a few hours in the ER, before being transferred the hospital's Intensive Care Unit. Upon hearing the news, I took the first flight back home and arrived around 1 am to see my father in the company of my shaken mother and a couple family friends. I wrapped my arms around my father when I first saw him, and then cried an ocean into his chest. It was the worst day of my life. I'll never forget it Two of the three nights, I slept beside him on a six, maybe seven-foot long vinyl couch where I saw countless physicians and nurses enter and leave throughout the night. They see this so often, I'm sure: Families in pain as a loved one slowly withers away. I never saw any visiting hours posted anywhere. Even if they did exist, though, they knew that they wouldn't apply to me. I love their staff. They never complained, eye-rolled, or seem annoyed when I asked for assistance. When I did ask for extra chairs, blankets, and general assistance with my father -- they did everything I asked, too. I also saw them carefully take care of my father with respect. Every two hours they moved him, so he wouldn't develop sores from staying in one position too long. Even though he no brain activity (known following the first CT scan), they still asked him for permission. I appreciated that. After learning that my father no brain activity following the second CT scan, I spoke to one of the doctors who suggested I remove my father's off of life support. And I did. Once he passed, and the waves of crying subsumed, the head nurse at the time came over to me and handed over several viles with my dad's heartbeat printed on it. I was so touched. I know this hospital has a good number of mixed reviews, but I genuinely thought they did an outstanding job taking care of my father. A time when I felt absolutely emotional wreck, they did their best. I did think they could've done a better job with providing me more information once I arrived (like who were all the staff touching and moving my father), but I won't hold that against them. I'd recommended Robbinsdale North Memorial Hospital's ICU to anyone, but I hope you never have to experience what I did. Other tidbits: * You can buy validated parking tickets in the gift shop ($15 for five). I don't recall the rates, but it'll save you much more money. * Nothing to rave about their cafeteria. * Hospital isn't in the best neighborhood.
