This is not an indictment of the Landmark Medical Center or the staff that works there. I am not in…read moretheir shoes. ER workers work long hours and are frequently understaffed. This is an indictment of a deeply flawed medical system. That being said, I first went to the ER at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, RI. It wasn't life or death, but I was having trouble getting a new PCP and I didn't know what else to do. I had had diarrhea for more than a week, and I was worried that it might be sepsis; I had been in the hospital with sepsis for four days years before and had initially brushed it off as a bad cold. I was given a cbc blood test. and fluids. and advised to follow up with a GI who turned out to be unavailable, as well as a recommendation for a fodmap diet and probiotics. Other than being unable to see a gastroenterologist, everything seemed fine. However, I had bitten my tongue and lip repeatedly on my job, which I thought would heal on its own. I really don't like to visit doctor's offices or hospitals. When it seemed that my wound was getting worse instead of better, I went back to the ER to have it looked at. I was given a couple of prescriptions and sent home. One or two days later I noticed my tongue was swollen. Talking was painful, as well as eating and drinking. I was given an antibiotic and a shot of cortisol for the swelling as well as an anti-inflammatory. I also had a lot of canker sores which was making eating, drinking, and speaking painful. The steroid injection caused me to start having sharp pains in my mouth and throat which I am still having, plus I have noticed something that may be acid reflux. I've probably had it before, but not this bad. The acid keeps my mouth from healing and I can't see a doctor for it because I no longer have insurance. Again, I don't want to demonize the hospital staff. Our healthcare system needs to be restructured so that it functions as a vital service rather than a corporation.

Landmark medical doesn't care ! Its owners doesn't care Prime is horrible!! All they care about is…read moremoney !! Half the nurse are over worked the doctors don't listen!! The Er is the worst !!! Forget getting an IV you'll end up with bruising from your hands all the way to your elbows !!! And don't go alone the treatment you'll get is way worse !! They are rude inconsiderate and put words in your mouth!! And God forbid your admitted it'll only go downhill especially if you're on first east and you end up with Nurse Molly more like nurse ratchet ( she had more redeeming qualities) she just might Kill you ! She's mean and condescending! I can say that dietary people are kind and so are the janitorial people!! Even the patient advocates aren't for patients! Some of the CNAs were kind ! And the psych department was nice ! Because that's where they put you when you speak up for yourself! And they throw out visitors!! That's where I got the best care and they found medical problems I had that the doctors would look for !! So now I get to get a lawyer too!! Especially since I have pictures of the black eyes I got from respiratory! And the bruises on my nose! For unnecessary work ups !!
