I was so excited to try this restaurant. But I have to say, worst seafood I've ever had, ordered the fisherman's platter, which should be the showcase for what they offer. Half fillets of fried fish tiny baby scallops really looked like something you'd get at a fast food seafood restaurant. Was supposed to have sole, cod and perch, which are all very different in texture, you couldn't even tell the difference. Not to mention right next to their terrace is where they dump their garbage so flies galore. 2 beers an app and 2 plates was 112$. Don't give these crooks your business! They deserve a 0!! read more

I don't know if we caught them at an off night, but the service was slow, the food was sub par and my wife refused to eat her shrimp and Caesar salad. Disclaimer: I grew up in Scotland, the undisputed champion of fish and chips. Actually Scotland tops the list for anything you could conceivably deep fry. Forget the famous deep fried Mars bar, that's a gimmick, but if you happen to be in the old country and you know you need a change from the fish suppers (Scottish for fish and chips) because having it for breakfast, lunch and dinner for a week has dampened your enthusiasm, I thoroughly recommend deep fried haggis or deep fried pizza. Pete's Cape Cod is a very well known restaurant situated in the West Island, Sainte Anne de Bellevue to be more precise. It's also a restaurant that I've been going to for the last ten years. Sadly as of today, it will be my last time I will be stepping in into the restaurant. Here's why... The restaurant was sold to a new owner a few months ago. To which I can tell things are not the same and have deteriorated quite drastically. Both in quality of food, and service. Along with that, the prices have risen drastically. Low quality of food and high prices is a horrible combination! Three of us have ordered a different dish. Everything consisted of seafood since that is the main focus of the restaurant. Nothing about our dishes tasted fresh! We had; Grilled fresh tuna with fries, smelts alongside of fries as well. Lastly fish and chips. In all of our three dishes, the fries were rubbery, lukewarm, and stale. To be honest, completely inedible! Which fries is the side dish of your main dish. So we were left with one thing to eat. The platters are served usually with a lovely salad. Not anymore. This time we were served a tiny pile of tasteless iceberg lettuce, with one cucumber slice and a very sweet from a bottle dressing. We kindly informed our waitress about our fries and how disappointed we are. Her only reply was "I'm sorry!" Which I thought it was a poor way of handling the situation. As I mentioned before, we were three of us with no wine to drink. Simply water and a soft drink, along with a glass of beer. Our total for the lunch was a ridiculous overpriced lunch of $85.00 I always had a soft spot for Pete's Cape Cod. Unfortunately, I no longer do. I would think twice, of going back. My husband called & booked for a Monday night We were booked and confirmed,only after we arrived we find out that no one had actually taken or written down any reservation.They were out of many items on the menu, and what food they did serve us, was awful, Horrible service!!! Too bad I cannot give this place a minus 10 !! Had late lunch there with the family. The location is ideal on the water overlooking the lock. Boats come in, boats go out. Very relaxing, you'd think. Place is full of flies! Decorations full of cob webs. Does nobody dust here? Found a knife under a chair. I Ordered the "Fisherman's Platter". Do they know what that is? Obviously they haven't been to Cape Cod in a while! The fried fish was re-fried and then microwaved until bone dry. It was like chomping on dry twigs. The fish, turned, not good. Portions of the fish smelled rotten and impossible to eat. Could not even stand the odor. My son's chicken fingers (kids menu) were like chucks of breaded fried BARK. He couldn't eat them. When I finally got the attention of our waitress, she apologized and came back with half baked chocolate cake "on the house". I don't eat cake. Needless to say, we will not be returning again. Went to Peter's Cape Cod on Monday, June 25, 2018. because of a Special they listed on a sandwich board outside the restaurant ......... (We hadn't been in years) Mondays - Senior's Special All Day - Soup, Dessert & Coffee included with meal. Maitre D brought us to a table that turned out to be a table that no wait staff was assigned to, probably because of the awkward location and uneven tables. We sat there for 15 minutes and then we mentioned to the Maitre D that no one had come to the table, he said he would send someone....a girl finally came over and told us "she was told to serve us" ???? We thought that was an odd thing to say. We asked about the Senior's Special she said it didn't apply because of St. Jean Baptiste, we then told her that the sign in front of the restaurant should then be removed. She said there was nothing she could do about it, that was management. We then spoke to the Maitre D and told him he should remove the sign if it didn't apply that day. He agreed to give us the special and said he would bring us the soup himself, which he forgot about. We told the girl that the Maitre D agreed to give us the Senior's Special so she did bring us the soup. We ordered 2 grilled fish, we received 1 grilled and the other one in a cream sauce, the one in the cream sauce went back so we waited again. We get our dessert and coffee, no spoons, girl is no-where around, had to ask the Maitre D for spoons. Service was lousy! The view is beautiful and the service is friendly. The portions are generous and the price isn't high however it's not the best tasting food. I don't believe there's any flavour added on the grilled fish dishes. I liked my snapper enough to finish it because I was hungry but I'd never crave it. The lemon meringue was okay. The chocolate cake was okay. The baked potato was okay. The fries and potato skins were okay (we were a big group so I tried and saw lots of different items in the menu) The salad was fine. While visiting my in laws we decided to meet friends at Peter's big mistake that day. While the patio and al fresco dining is great the service that day was awful and my fish the Mahi Mahi was undercooked. The waitress did not check on our table and waited 15 minutes until she brought the childrens meals. Imagine 6 hungry children waiting that long for food. She forgot our appetizers. The manager was nice and comped my fish. I though the other meals were good, the fried sole and fish nuggets for the kids. This is the place to be in the summer time, they have a nice terrace and great service. If you visit Sainte-Anne-De-Bellevue you have to visit Peter's Cape Cod. I hope that I can give a Zero Star review... If I can't than consider my One star as both tax and tip. Long story short, this restaurant is a master of deception, one walks into the place and is greeted by an assortment, no a cornucopia, of fresh delicious fish. Then one is lead to a table which is far too cramped with very little atmosphere and no sound management.... Felt more like a cabane à sucre than a pseudo high end resto without the inherent conviviality of the cabane. At our table, we had ordered some crab cakes and both items off the not so VIP section of the meal. The crab cakes were unassuming disks fried for far too long in oil far too cold and needing replacement. They tasted like pollock flavored saw dust. The seafood stew was not up to par... Way too much potato and cheese, to cover up the sad and sorry fact that they has used a baged frozen seafood mix. The fried fish platter was as saw dusty as the crab cakes. Also, the one thing that I wanted to eat, lobster, was written on a black board at the entrance in faded chalk of similar color to the background of the board.... No menu insert. So, to conclude, if you want to be wowed then lead to a feeding trougth like cattle... Go on ahead eat at Peters Feeding Station... Just don't expect quality food. read more

this resto was not what i expected. I had the calmar which was good but not more than that.I also had the fish and chips. This was ok but I found one piece and a few tasteless fries and the salard was also tasteless all this for 16.95. My wife also disappointed. She had the crab cake which were flat and had no taste. Last night we decided to go to Peter's Cap Cod in Sainte- _Anne_De-Bellevue. What a disaster!!! ( we have been there quite often and have enjoyed it) When we get there we give our name and we are told that it will be a 45 min wait. As we are waiting we noticed a lady that kept on going up to the manager and talking to him, after about 50 mins they ask us if we want a table inside, we said that we will wait for a table outside. 20 mins later they call this ladies name and we notice that she is a party of three. I tell the manager that we were there before this lady and it is not right to sit her first, which he then tells me some stupid story about how the tables are set up. blah blah, but then comes back to me a tells me we are next and he is going to give us a good table in a few minutes. After a long wait her finally brings us to our table which is a rinky dinky table for two in the back, Now we are waiting for the waiter which takes another 15 mins. We give our order and he then brings are drinks, but our appetizers have not come out , and we then see the manager and tell him that we are waiting a half hour for our appetizers, and if we don't get them in 5 min we are leaving in which he replies, that will be your choice. ( how long does it take to get a shrimp cocktail and a fish soup??? Finally our meal comes and we are enjoying our meal and a bus boy comes to the table next to us and spills a glass of water on the person beside us, in which our feet get wet. Then the table on the left to us is empty but all of the sudden the table flips over towards us with the umbrella open and falls right on top of us and all over our food. The waiter comes over and apologizes and says he will go speak to the manager and comes back as says your main meal is free. but does not offer to replace the one we were in the middle of eating , we tell him we are not paying for anything and he goes back to speak to the manager and comes back and says ok.. But the manager never came out of the restaurant to make sure we are ok , that is the least that he can do. As we leave the manager is sitting bar and does not even acknowledge us, so my husband approaches him and blasts him for how he does not know how to run the restaurant and does not even have the decency to come over and see how we are!!!!! We will never ever go back there again, and to anyone thin king of going there, stay far away!!!!!! read more
