Nuts & Bolts but a great place to sleep and relax. Walking distance (2 blocks) to all the great restaurants and shops. Bayeux is the PERFECT launch point for everything Normandy. If you're looking to see Omaha Beach and Point Du Hac stay in Bayeux. We booked a private tour through the Caen Memorial. We took the 7:00am train to Caen and met our guide. It was the perfect way to see everything.

But the beds are comfortable, shower has great water pressure, and the staff is extremely friendly. Location is great as you can walk around town easily. Only issue that I don't think you can fix, as you can hear other rooms sometimes. Breakfast is good. I would definitely recommend for a few nights went in town.

First, many hotels are in Alençon (and elsewhere), but very few are open in this area this time of the year. Being chains, I knew that both the Ibis and Mercure would be open. Hit the Ibis first and stayed right there. An unassuming appearance from the outside, the inside was very warm and welcoming. Smallish lobby that spills into a splendid attached bar/restaurant serving a delicious drink and food menu. Fantastic, friendly welcome and greeting from Marie and her colleague who tended both the front desk, the bar and the kitchen. Rooms are basic Ibis/Accor rooms. Modern, sleek, clean rooms, excellent bath and comfortable beds. Parking is in a convenient lot adjacent to the hotel. If you are in Alençon or would like to use it as a base for exploring the area, I can greatly recommend this Ibis. Merci, Marie!

Wished I had booked two nights as returning to add a night online a bit later revealed they were fully booked. The hotel is lovely in its decor and design. The room was generously sized and lovely. Reception staff was welcoming and pleasant. A purchased coffee and muffin were a quick takeaway breakfast and both were delicious. Overall an excellent value considering the service, setting, and accommodations.

They got to know us in just a couple days and made every restaurant reservation for us. Just off the lobby is a small bar that is well stocked and managed by the front desk. Seating there is comfortable. The breakfast is plentiful and excellent. As for the rooms ... we could not believe how spacious, comfortable, quiet and pleasant in terms of temperature they were. The beds were also excellent and the bathrooms spacious. We were totally blown away by the quality. To top it all off, the location is perfect. Just a few blocks from the city center, and as a result many restaurants. We never had to walk more than 10 minutes any evening for our dinner reservations. And, even the Bayeux Tapestry is just a few minute walk. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about his hotel in any way. If you are visiting Bayeux, stay here.
