The young waitress knew many patrons by name. I was the lone stranger in the place. Five specials were written on the wall by the cashier. Spaghetti, hamburger steak, club sandwich, etc... All the classics. I wanted breakfast but missed it by 20 min. I ordered the western sandwich (pretty close to breakfast if u ask me) with a poutine. Sandwich was good but a little small due to the size of the bread. The poutine was fine. Fries were good, so was the cheese. The gravy lacked taste for me. A little bland. Friendly service quick and efficient. The ingredients in the sandwich were fresh and crunchy. Probably a 3 1/2. No wow factor but good ol dinner grub. Bon apetite

As we passed through a variety of tiny towns that were not much more than intersections we kept looking for something that was...open. Not fast food and...open. Did I mention it was somewhat early on a Sunday morning? Anyway we finally spotted this place...as we passed it. We turned around and came back to it with our hopes up..."Was it open? Was it? It was a restaurant right? Like a diner kind of place?" Well it was open and it was a diner kind of place. We were delighted and went right in. I used one of the few things I have learned to say in French aside from "thank you" and greetings...and asked if they spoke English. I got a smile and a finger held in the air (the polite finger, not the rude finger) and the employee disappeared for a moment, returning with the owner. He turned out to be a delight and between his passable English and our meager French we exchange some small talk and ordered our food. It was outstanding...eggs done perfectly. I cook a fair amount and one of the things people often underestimate is eggs. By underestimating I mean that eggs in their many varieties of preparation are not a simple food to execute really well. We were very happy to have found this place and the food was really good at very fair prices.

Their coffee is a bit bitter, which I like, but some people may find it too bitter. I love that their iced latte is a double-shot, and only 3.60$ ! Their breakfasts are amazing !!! You can of course buy coffee (grains) to go :) On the down-side, they offer less lunch choices and they are not as good as breakfasts (my opinion) but i believe they still deserve their 5 stars.
