First time and we are looking forward in going back. We had never had African food before but the waiter was so nice and helped us with the menu. Food had great flavors. Very obvious everything was so fresh. I got #1 with fish. My red snapper was delicious. He got the goat. Which was also very good. The beignet were very good I was skeptical with the onions but it went well together.

First time trying African food and it was delicious! The begnets with onion sauce were great! The owner was super sweet! Overall 10/10, would definitely return to try more items!!

There are very few places I've eaten at where 10 minutes after the meal everyone at the table was still sitting around talking about how amazing the meal was. It's a rare feeling to eat foods I have never had before and feel like I was sitting at the table back home with my family. Everything from start to finish was amazing and had us saying wow. The juices are similar to Mexican drinks and just breathtakingly good. All the appetizers had us eagerly awaiting to see how good the main courses would be, and nothing was less than amazing. The beignets were a perfect amount of sweet while not feeling like a guilty pleasure. The wings were crispy and extremely flavorful, and the plantains were perfectly textured.. and the pepper sauce wow! I've never left a restaurant in Iowa feeling this satisfied.

    Choco - very good.

I wanted to try something new and chose this restaurant. My son had gone here previously and really enjoyed the food. I had the Choco. It was very good. The portions are appropriate, and ambience was very quiet. The restaurant is located off the main path and sits back from the street. The foods are unique or at least they were for me. The dish I tried was shown several times and it is something I will definitely order again. This is a small mom and pop establishment. The host/waiter/Cook/server was cordial but not very talkative. It is a family friendly place if you're looking for one.

We went there for dinner tonight. We were greeted by a very nice lady who helped us pick our dishes and beverages. She brought a multiple samples of beverages to pick from. The food was delicious, at the place was clean. We were the only in house customers on Friday night which made me sad. More people need to come here to make this work. We need a variety of restaurants in our community and need to support this family owned business. We had a great time and would go there again. The owner also makes Vietnamese food. I'm definitely going to try that too.

    Goat dish.

The food was absolutely outstanding and only rivaled by the immense kindness of the owner. I took my entire family and we ate an eclectic mix of various dishes. Please make sure you try the peanut butter chicken.

Congratulations to the owner and whoever set up this Yelp page! It is informational and makes me excited to bring my husband in to try some West African cuisine. Is there a particular country that inspires most of the food?

Given that we were late in the day, there were also a few things on the menu that weren't available such as the yam fufu but that's okay. Had I did not realize that this place serves Ethiopian food in addition to other African and Caribbean food so I was absolutely overjoyed to order some familiar foods off of the menu! My husband had the tibs with potatoes and carrots and beets. He found the peppers to be fresh and bright and delicious, and the beets were tenderly cooked. He definitely was regretting not asking for it to be spicy because this was not spicy at all! A great point for dipping your toes into Ethiopian food without the intense spices and flavors that it is known for. I had the signature spinach and beef with cassava fufu and it was quite spicy and very flavorful! The spinach was obviously very fresh and high quality and retained a beautiful bright color of green. I am hoping to come back with more people earlier in the day to try out more of their food!

I tried Koffi Grill today, and I really enjoyed my meal!…read more I know nothing about African food, or Caribbean food. So, I don't really know how to describe what I had. My meal was beef kebabs with yellow rice. The beef kebabs were incredible, but if I describe them, I don't think I'm going to make them sound very good. The beef chunks were kind of dry, but it seemed like they were supposed to be a little dry, and I don't think they would have been as good if they weren't. They had an amazing dry spice rub on the outside. If the beef had been jucier, I think that would have totally changed the experience of the spice rub. I don't know whether that makes sense, but hopefully you try it, enjoy it, and agree with me. My side was yellow rice. At first, I thought the rice was really bland, but there was some sort of seasoning in it that kind of builds on you the more you eat. It's not at all of a hot spice type of seasoning. It was a very good meal. I would highly recommend it.
