Very good chicken schnitzel and cold beer. Friendly servers with nice outdoor street seating for an evening meal under umbrellas. I recommend this restaurant for food and people watching. Good gelato places nearby.

Situated on the cobblestones, this German food restaurant is rich with location. I had an apple strudel which was my dinner after continuing my digestion from having pork knuckle at Andechs for lunch. The strudel was ok

My hot wife and I don't know the other fellow. We're outside on a beautiful spring evening.

What a beautiful restaurant. The food was superb. Service was awesome. Ambiance was perfect. Out on the beautiful street we sat and enjoyed our evening. Not sure and haven't read why everyone's review wasn't a 5 star. It sure wasn't the restaurants fault. Enjoy!!

    With beer everything is good.

Ludwigs had some good German standards at a little above normal prices - to be expected in the tourist trap town of Fussen. I had some poached Munchner Weiss Wurst and fries. One daughter had some cheese spaetzle with onions which was actually better than my Mom's. (Mom uses Swiss which I don't care for - sorry Mom). The other had some schnitzel and regular spaetzle. My son had a kid's hamburger and I can't recall what my wife ordered, something vegetarian-friendly. Service was pretty decent on a busy night and despite some earlier reviews they do accept credit card at this point. Not the best I've ever had but good enough at the time. 3.5 rounds to 4.

I was seated immediately and the service was great. Food took a little longer than what I have been accustomed to since I arrived in Vienna but it was still faster than USA. The sour cream is not the same as USA sour cream. The spare ribs were good.

Christmas Eve dinner. Nice place, good okay. Steak over cooked. Soup lukewarm, but tasty. We sat upstairs is was delightful. The service a bit slow due to the season. Would not choose the steak again, noodles were very tasty. Our server did well.

We ate at the Bavarian resturant in this hotel and had the schweinshaxe (pork knuckles) and maultasche (a kind of stuffed pasta). They were both very large - enough for 2 people each. I found the pork knuckles hard to get into. The skin was hard and meat on the chewy side. It tasted pretty good after I was able to wrestle some of the meat off with the small knife and fork that was provided. I'm thinking no more schweinshaxe for me.

Unfriendly and impolite waiters, but waitresses are fine. Food is ok but the preparation took too long. Furthermore, the dishes are slightly pricey. If not necessary, pick some other restaurant.

Ludwigs Restaurant has CASH SALES ONLY. No wifi password given unless you are a hotel guest. We stopped at Ludwigs Restaurant because other street cafes either did not have what we wanted to eat or the service was non-existent. It is located right in the middle of the main pedestrian walking street in Fussen Germany. Great people watching from the streetside table we sat at. The menu is very expansive and you can get lost trying to figure out what to eat LOL... I had the seasoned pan seared pork chops covered with French fried onion rings over a bed of their homemade cheese noodles. It was topped with a tasty cream sauce and served on a cast iron skillet. It was amazing. It was more than one can eat for sure. The food came out much quicker than we anticipated even though they were full. You can dine inside or outside.

Very good German food. Would highly recommend the perch (fish) with almond butter vegetables and boiled potatoes. Tried schnapps the first time here too:) pear kind. Very cool

I got the Calabrian bouillabase and my partner got the seafood tagliatelle, and both were amazing! The bouillabase was just the right amount of spicy with the Calabrian chiles, and it had huge pieces of 2 types of fish, giant prawns, oysters, clams, and shrimp. My partner liked the salmon and prawns in his pasta. Service was excellent, and the owners spoke German, Italian, English (and probably more languages given the region's proximity to multiple countries). We didn't have a dinner reservation so were seated outside on the charming patio (2 sections, one with heaters close to the restaurant, and the other further away with blankets).

The chef recommendations we had were all nice, including the tuna and swordfish carpaccio and the different seafood entrees we chose. The pizza was also very nice. Some of the staff were friendly and more attentive than others. We understood that we went on a busy night, but two tables who were seated quite a while after us both got their meals a long time before we did. Our appetisers took 70 minutes and our entrees took about 85 minutes to arrive. We asked about the food about an hour in and were told "it's very busy, you need to be patient". Only when we pointed out about the other two tables having eaten did our food arrive. BEWARE; they charge €6.50 for tap water! We questioned it and the woman said "it's not like America, it's normal here". Firstly, we are English and French, not American. Secondly it was our third night in Germany and our seventh time dining out and this was the ONLY place that charged for tap water! The food is also more expensive than anywhere else we ate at in Fussën. Good food but poor service from some of the staff. We went for dessert elsewhere.
