My wife spent her childhood in Malaysia and we first visited Tham's restaurant two decades ago before our son was born. We brought our teenage son this time and were excited to discover that Tham is still open in Murren and his food is just as delicious as before! His lovely wife is now working with him in the restaurant and both of them were very friendly and welcoming. We dropped by every chance we got even though we were staying across the valley in Wengen. Remember to bring cash only for payment. There is an ATM by the gondola/cable car station in Murren. The wok fried noodles with prawns were our favorite and our son's favorite was the fried rice with chicken and fried rice with honey pork. My wife also ordered the Assam Chili Chicken and enjoyed the yummy flavors. Excellent nourishment after our hikes! Delicious food, friendly owners and the best food to balance out our other Swiss food forays! We look forward to visiting gorgeous Switzerland again in the near future, especially the Berner Oberland - and we will definitely stop by Tham's in Murren the first chance we get! Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Tham!

I don't know HOW this restaurant is rated 4.5 stars. Terrible service, terrible prices, terrible…read morequality. Very poor service: old man running the restaurant was highly impatient and wife scammed us on price conversion -- tip: they only accept cash. The value is terrible. The equivalent of 60USD (50CHF) for a grease-soaked plastic container of fried rice (incredibly bland and tasteless) with a count of (5) small strips of chicken and a heart-attack-inducing greasy noodle dish, served with more salt than is in the Atlantic ocean. We tried to be hospitable and nice to the owner, but they responded with indifference, short temper, and annoyance. Insanely rude service, especially from the chef. Yeah, I understand, the prices in Switzerland are crazy expensive, but I wouldn't feed this food to my dog. Not worth $30 a dish. My tip? Don't go. Unless you want to be insulted and go to the least hospitable place in Murren.

So are a bunch of other places too here, but good lord. You really cannot go wrong here. Again, this review is from late July 2024. We had lunch here, and a beer. They have ragen brau, which is my favorite beer. I looked into seeing if we can get some in the states, and that's a no go. Sadly enough. This is such good beer, I mean absolutely amazing. For dessert, apfelkuchen was a must to have. Since I didn't get any in germany. So weird. This was delicious. She had a burger with egg, and fries. Absolutely amazing. Just check out the pictures here. I had the swiss cheese and pickle/caper pasta. I mean, pickles and cheese is a british thing. Huge huge fan of it, and the swiss did such a great job with it too. Service was alittle longer than normal, but totally worth it. You are not their for speed, you are there for the view and the company. I mean dang, I got both. A beautiful wife to enjoy this moment with, and an amazing meal. Thank ya

We got to sit outside and enjoying a relaxing lunch. We liked everything we ordered . The iced coffee was perfect. Really liked the ice cream flavors, we got the mango, caramel and strawberry. Overall the food was flavorful and the portions sizes were good. One thing I do find strange is that once we get the servers bring the food, nobody ever comes to check to see if you need anything, they just disappear. It's not just this restaurant but almost all the restaurants we visited in Switzerland. I took a star off because of that. Once lunch was done, I had to go in and find them to pay for the lunch and leave. The servers are nowhere to be found. If travel internationally just use you Apple Pay or credit card to pay. You don't need to carry around local currency.
