Goodness! This place was so good that... I forgot to take a picture (which is rare). My friend and I ordered the chicken tikki masala, mixed biriyani, samosa, and mixed naan. I tend to stray from Indian type food because it often feels hit or miss but had several friends recommend this place and honestly was probably my favorite meal in lisbon. It was amazing. They offered a cracker and 3 sauces at the beginning of my meal and the mango lassi drink at the end. The prices were super reasonably priced. HOLY CHICKEN. This place is probably THE best Indian restaurants I've dined at. I wish I came with a larger group so we could order everything off the menu and I could try it all. As a solo diner, I only ordered the CHICKEN EVERST ~11€ and VEGETARIAN SAMOSA ~1.50€. (still drooling as I type). The restaurant was packed when I got there about 20 minutes after it opened. It was freezing cold outside and my phone was on survival mode at 2%. One of the waiters was exceptionally nice to let me charge my phone as I waited for a seat. I'm not too familiar with Indian cuisine, so I asked what he recommended if I liked spicy and creamy stuff. He immediately gave me a couple of options & I ended up with the Chicken Everst. It's exactly what I asked for, and then some. It came with a side of rice and I was so filled after just half of it. The Vegetarian Samosa was also fried to perfection with a large filling with a plethora of spices. After I got the check, they brought out a shot glass of mango (pudding?) and it was so damn good. The waiter walked me out, asked where I was from, and bid me farewell -- which was the sweetest thing ever!! Obrigado! One may wonder... when visiting Portugal, why eat Nepalese food? Well, if you are in Portugal for a week or so and every meal is eaten at a restaurant, then why not try something different? This small demure restaurant is a two minute walk from the Baixa metro station. Inside it is small and cozy, with tables closely set together. This is what sets this restaurant apart; it's intimacy. The staff greet you at the doorway and do their very best to accommodate you. It's best to have reservations, however if at all possible, the friendly staff will try and find space for you. The food was beyond my expectations. As someone who has Indian roots, I know my Indian food. Nepalese food is almost the same, just with a slight twist on the traditional food one might be used to. We were served popadum upon arrival, with a plate of a trio of raita, achaar and tamarind sauce. We ordered lamb jalfrezi- extra hot and butter chicken- medium. Both were served in mini karahi's with a burner underneath. Both were scrumptious, the best I've had. The naan were served cut into quarters, served in baskets each, and a plate of steaming rice was served where each grain could be individually picked up. At the end, complimentary mango lassi shots are serve, along with candied fennel seeds. I'm blown away as to how delicious the food was. The service was impeccable. The two lovely servers were very kind and very helpful when ordering the food, making sure the food was prepared exactly how we wanted it. Overall, don't go by appearances of this small, humble restaurant. The food is outstanding and I guarantee, it will be one of the best Indian/Nepalese meals you'll have ever eaten. After having trouble finding vegetarian food for my wife in the islands, this was our first dinner in mainland Portugal. So so worth it.

Found this place by chance when the wife craved Indian food after a week of Portuguese food. Man O man. I've had Indian food in many places, but this was the best Butter Chicken I've ever tasted, nutty and slightly sweet. We scraped up every bit of the sauce with cheese and garlic naan, which was also off the charts. They were a bit slow with the food, but it is a very small place and deservedly busy. Showed up around 7:20pm and was told the restaurant was full, there were only 2 tables currently being used, with maybe 12 or so more available. They were going to turn us away as they said they had reservations, however asked if we could be done by 8:40pm, which was more than enough time so we agreed and sat down. Ordered naan, chicken tikka masala, chicken vindaloo and vegetable korma, all amazingly delicious. The waitstaff was friendly and accommodating. We were in and out by 8:30, very happy and very full, with leftovers to boot. It has been one of our best meals in Portugal and we intend to go back again, definitely recommend and make reservations to be safe, place did indeed fill up fast! read more

Genuinely only good things to say about this place. As a vegetarian, Lisbon was a bit more difficult to navigate culinarily than I'm used to. This place was a brilliant option for me, and provided a truly spectacular value for money. Don't be put off by the storefront, which doesn't look particularly inspired; try this place out, I guarantee you won't regret it. Came across this place right after arriving in the Lisbon (Chiado) and looking for a quick lunch. It's tucked away on a side street and doesn't look like much on the outside, but it deserves the 5-star reviews! For only 6 euros, they have a lunch menu with really generous portions that tastes amazing. Chicken, lamb, and vegetarian options with basmati rise. The interior was pretty quiet when we went with only a few others, but well decorated. The waiters were very friendly and even offered us free mango lassi at the end of the meal. This place is pure magic! I learned to appreciate Indian food when I was living in England and this place really delivered. My friend and I stumbled on this place after another restaurant said that there was no available seating even though there was only one couple seated in the whole restaurant. The staff here was so friendly and kindly turned on the AC for us on a hot summer night. We ordered 1 veggie samosa and 1 chicken samosa, both great. We ordered butter chicken and aloo matar we also ordered two sides of garlic naan. The first bite of the butter chicken made me want to cry, it was so good. I've never had anything like it. I was in love. This may seem like an exaggeration, but for me it was transcendent. The aloo matar was fantastic as well and the garlic naan was great. My friend and I stuffed ourselves and felt happy. What made us even more happy was the price! Just 30 euros for the two of us, this included a coke and two bottles of water. The next night we totally went and got butter chicken and garlic naan for take away. This is a big compliment in a city with many amazing restaurants. Sometimes you need a break from the local cuisine... It was full for dinner Tuesday night, so we tried again Thursday for lunch. There were plenty of open tables. Food is good, classic Northern Indian and Nepali. I tried the garlic naan stuffed with cheese, it was OK, but not quite my favorite. But the Chicken Khorma and Lamb Dal (similar to Dal Makhnani) were both very good. One suggestion, they should stock big bottles of sparkling water, we could have used more water even though we ordered things only 'moderately spicy' (and I'd actually call that level of heat 'mild' compared to other Indian places I've tried.) read more
