I didn't want to just let it go since I really liked it's look and how turning it on was activated by a floor switch is unique. I brought in the lamp and the techs looked it over described what appeared to happen - where the break was, the condition of the cord, the hinge and the adjuster. They seemed to know what they were talking about as they went on to describe to me what they were going to do to repair it. They quoted me and gave me about a week of time to do the job. The followed up with me and called when the lamp was ready. After picking up the lamp I am very pleased with the job, they made it so the lamp can be adjusted as I tried to do before breaking it, albeit I have to be careful as it never really was meant to be adjusted. So if you have an antique-y lamp or light device or just a lamp you like in general that needs service try here. My price I felt was fair but hear they can run high on some of their repairs, but there aren't a whole lot of places like this either. I can say though, they did a good job with my lamp.

The receptionist was courteous, and I vaguely remember her connecting me to Daniella who came to the front area when she called her. Before that I wandered through that showroom admiring the display of fine and interesting furniture and the overall ambiance. I was totally taken in. Daniella arrived smiling graciously and very matter-of-factly welcomed me into the fabric area. OMG! The array of samples, the tones, colors, variety and quantity. I am still surprised and proud that I walked out there with a decision. The end product rocks! Let me tell you why. Daniella is an expert at what she does. LISTENING to what I described as my need and interest. That is the skill of a professional. It must be understood that I was in fabric heaven and had to choose my robe, one prettier than the other. All I can say is Daniella had her head on in spite of my euphoria. I can go on but suffice it to say It was a moment at the fabric beach. The process of ordering/supplier contact was handled by my trusty designer. My take home orders were to take the materials with my cushions and pillows when they arrive to my upholsterer. Daniella's art of cording by size and effect also helped make the final project what was beyond my expectation. My home is a sweeter more beautiful living space than before. Daniella even understood and supported my idea to add motif planning with tiling that sealed my decor. I regret not paying her separately. .... And I did not overspend!!!!!

We gave him a $100 deposit and he would call us when the chairs were ready. Well, the chairs were delivered today and I must say, they are perfect! I contacted Allyson from A and R and she agreed to meet with me in her store and assist me. I brought with me samples of the remodel tiles, fabric samples etc. She spent a good deal of time with me and also showed me a special paint line of BM I didn't even know about. She came up with the perfect colors. Then I was able to go down the street to the paint store she recommended me to to buy samples. I bought the 3 paint colors to NYC today and they were perfect. Best of all, they listened, captured, and implemented our design needs and style. When possible they worked with items currently in our home. Our first project, with A&R, was redecorating a room in which they added to the existing furnishings. The proportions of the furniture are perfect and they knew exactly where to put that special piece. Additionally, A&R has been very helpful with our remodel. Allyson had many great suggestions and assisted in avoiding pitfalls during the construction process. Sometimes it's the small details that really give your home that extra special touch. Communication throughout the process was great. During the design process, we were shown different options both at our home and the A&R showroom and were able to understand how everything would work together. Having an open floor plan, it was important that the colors were able to tie into other rooms. We were updated on manufacturer production schedule, inspection, and delivery. We have been very happy and look forward to using A&R again!

While we have had good experiences with Doug's Rug before, our most recent installation has been…read morenothing but frustrating. The caret pad we specified and were quoted was replaced with a lower grade pad with a less comprehensive warranty. Within 3 months of installation the seams are showing and edges of the carpet that interface with other flooring are failing. We have called multiple times to have Doug's come out to inspect and repair. They do not return calls and when we do reach them they give vague promises to schedule a visit. Over 5 months later nothing. This is in stark contrast to the irritating persistence of the woman who runs the showroom , schedules and collects payment. In our opinion, she is unrelenting and irritating when collecting money during the deposit and installation, and unreachable when there is a problem. After multiple broken promises to fix the issues we've experienced, we recently visited the showroom in Flanders. The state of the store says everything. It is a catastrophe. Messy, unwelcoming and dirty with the woman mentioned before ensconced at a messy desk in the rear not even deigning to greet a customer walking through the front door, but rather staring with an irritated "why are you bothering me" look until we engaged her. Even the face to face promise made to fix remains broken a month later. No follow up, nothing At this time we recommend avoiding Doug's Rugs at all costs. This is a huge disappointment as we strive to support small local businesses whenever we have a choice.
