I was searching for a storage solution when we moved to a house with a much smaller kitchen and less cabinet space than we previously had. Since there is no pantry, I settled on the idea of purchasing a free standing one. After scouring websites like Wayfair, I was disappointed by the quality and the prices that all of these sites offered, with the realization that I would also have to deal with assembling a pressboard cabinet that would probably arrive damaged with missing parts. On a whim I stopped in here to speak with Mario. Within a matter of weeks I had a beautiful solid wood cabinet, which only cost a fraction more than the pressboard garbage I was looking at online. You want to talk about customer service? It doesn't get any better than this. Mario, the owner is one of the nicest guys to do business with. He has a great selection of quality wood furniture and if you don't see it in the store, you can look through catalogs and Mario can customize it if you want. Over the past 7 years I have bought a bunch of stuff from this store. Mario made us custom radiator covers that we get compliments on all the time. The last time we ordered something Mario was a little busy in the showroom. This is crazy, but this is what he did. He asked if he could stop by our house and we could go over what we wanted to order. Who does that? Granted we live in town and so does he, but that IS customer service. He came over and we went through design ideas and in the end, got what we wanted. If you are in the market for a piece of furniture and you prefer quality and possibly custom work, I would highly recommend this store. You won't meet a more accommodating sales person. read more

The only place I wood ever buy bare wood furniture in northern NJ or southern NY. Mario is a total gentleman and knows his business like a true craftsmen from days gone by. On top of that, his prices are competitive--trust me I looked and looked to beat his prices and I couldn't. You might fins a piece or two cheaper, but they get you on deliver or other charges. Will give you two examples of why I do business with Mario. First, was buying bedroom furniture for my kids. One of my kids came to the conclusion that the head board book shelf would not be so practical given the pillow would go into the shelf cavity when sleeping preventing it from having any real use.. Mario said no problem. He extended the legs (with the same maple wood that matched perfectly at no charge) to the correct height so that the shelf was above the pillow level. The second example of his generosity came when I started staining the furniture I purchased from Mario at my home. It was a total disaster. I called Mario, explained what happened and he said, no problem, bring it in and we'll fix it. He set me up in his work area, gave me the supplies to fix the mistake, showed me how to do it right, and then sent me home. I finished the rest myself and could not be happier to see how it turned out. You find another guy who will do that for you at no charge---seriously try to find someone. If you need to purchase bare wood furniture, this is the place to go if you're in the Morris/Sussex County area. I was looking for an idea for a Christmas gift for my dad, and the hubs and I thought a plaque would be nice. My parents bought a new house and my father has his very own workshop/mancave outside, so we wanted to get a plaque he could hang on the wall. We came up with this idea only a few weeks before Christmas and wasn't sure we could get it done on time. We walked into Bare Woods and it was after their closing time. Although the open sign was still lit and the door was still unlocked, they must've forgotten, but I noticed the sign with the store hour postings and according to that the store had already closed. Anyway Mario came out and greeted us, and we explained to him what we were looking for. He asked when we needed it by, and we really only were able to give him 10 days to get it done, and he said it was no problem. We asked if he needed our info or deposit of 1/2 the price or anything like that, and he said no. He trusted that this is what we wanted and we would be there to pick it up as promised. This man is a wonderful person and if I ever need anything done again I will definitely be going back to him! He is one of the nicest people. read more
