There were several hard goods that were priced higher than they sell online. They had a pair of Vans shoes that sell online for $48, priced at $49. A glass clown from Mexico is priced at $39.49 though it sells for between $10-$30. While I understand a store needs to make money to stay in business, this is absolutely absurd and it will cause a loss of repeat shoppers. Please do better on your research and pricing.

This was my first stop on my thrift itinerary from Thurmont to Springfield VA. It's located in a…read moresmall town right off the main highway. As an experienced thrifter and reseller small towns are usually the best places to score vintage. I went in with high hopes of leaving with lots of goodies. I took my own bag but surprise, Maryland and Virginia Goodwill's do provide bags unlike Pa. Once inside I was greetly warmly by a lady probably in her mid 80's who was welcoming and rattled off the specials. This location was on the smaller size and had a room full of clothes, shoes, and a shelf of seasonal and just when I thought there was nothing else to see I discovered a room with everything else. This space felt unheated and was a little rough, like it was once a garage but it was full of housewares, electronics, linens, toys, and and small amount of furniture and bigger items. Along the walls were bags of misc and like items bundled together in bags. I've seen this done on thrifting videos but never live. Each bag was around $5 give or take depending on size. While the store was neat and organized this unheated space felt like an afterthought and wasn't as nice as the main store. Prices were alot higher than I'm used to in PA, but the quality was decent. I didn't see any damaged items. I also didn't see alot of the vintage I was expecting to find and walked out only with a goodie bag of crocheted doilys for $3.49 , taking a gamble that none were stained. Upon checking out I encountered the sweet older lady again, who was just as warm and friendly with her goodbye as she was her welcome. The world needs more people like her. SIDENOTE: I did not see a dressing room and other thrift stores in the area had theirs closed. Masks were also required.

I remember when the trains would bring in materials at the old location on South St. And the kilns were still there. My father built his own brick house in 1958 and they delivered 9000 brick that had to be unloaded by hand with brick tongs. I did the Everedy Square project on East St in 1984 and used over 250,000 brick on walls and pavings that the Brick works supplied. They always were accomodating. I always enjoyed one of their delivery drivers named Hayes, a big guy that could unload your materials right where you needed it no matter what a pain in the butt it was for him! Thank you all.
