Went in thurs day june 20th seen a window i wanted to buy.i asked a store employee how much it cost .he said it was not marked on the window it had to go back to be repriced because it only had one side of the window.i said that is fine that is the side i need.he said it still has to be repriced but not today.so i go back friday june 21 i ask him has it has been repriced he told me they threw it away because it was only half of a window. There's bargain to be had but make sure you know what they say - like any thrift store, buyers beware. You are not necessarily getting a deal on everything. Make sure you inspect your product prior to purchasing. Also, goods change on a daily/weekly basis. Some good bargains i saw - $10 for doors ! Came during COVID so there was an employee at the door cleaning the carts. Store is big enough where social distance was easy to achieve. Plenty of parking. read more

I finally ventured to the ReStore store and it was....an adventure, to be sure. The pros: Really INTERESTING selection of stuff. They had a HUGE selecction of all sorts of tile for really cheap. GORGEOUS light fixtures for a fraction of what they'd cost new. They had these outdoor sun shades for your deck that are currently over $100 at Home Depot for only $35. Furniture had some cute stuff in it and they had some crazy deal that was "buy one chair get one free". If I had room in my house, I would have done it! Some of the prices were screaming deals. The cons: The biggest con is that their pricers clearly don't work together or just have no clue what they are doing....they had super shabby, stained, dated, smelly chairs marked $300 next to adorable modern clean chairs for $100 or less. I actually went to check out some of the new pieces they have that they CLAIM are half price at this location but they aren't and it's easy to check online....shady. They had old junky cabinets and desks that stunk of smoke for obscenely high prices. It was SUPER weird, especially given the great deals on other stuff. Also, it's in a giant warehouse and I went on a 100 degree day.......so it was flippin' miserable in there. In the summer, go in the morning or don't go at all. All in all, it's really worth checking out because you might just find a hidden gem, but be prepared for bi-polar pricing. read more

I've been a 10+ year supporter of the Restore locales - w 8 yrs in Fairfield and now 2+ at the 10th Street locale. Based on the extremely poor customer service in the "donations" operation at the 10th Street location I am discontinuing any efforts to donate to this Sacramento operation. Latest: I had an item which I was not sure if it could be donated. I called the 10th Street offices and was assured it could be donated. When I arrived at the 10th Street donations loading dock there were two older gentlemen receiving goods. When I described what I had one man said emphatically "We can't accept that." When I told him I had called first, been told it would be accepted, and driven down here only on that assurance, he argued with me. There was absolutely no effort to say "Sorry, there may have been a miscommunication. Let me check with management to see what we might do." I asked to speak with the store manager. Only then did the first man say they would take it, but he displayed a real negative attitude with me. The second man on the loading dock joined in lecturing me. They were both rude. Rather than providing any "Thanks" they said they would take the item but at a loss. It appeared that "guilting me" was their approach to good customer service. The item was heavy. I commented that they seem to have quite a challenge accepting items when they have to be lifted up to the elevated dock. As I unloaded the heavy item and positioned it near the foot of the elevated dock with the first man the second man who was still up on the dock berated me for not doing enough to help lift and move the item. (Note: I did not realize I was to provide the "muscle" to account for a very poor design in having only an elevated loading dock to receive donations.). To this point the second man was the worthless one who was doing nothing as an employee (volunteer?) No donation receipt was offered to me; I had to ask for one. The second man gave me a clip board with the blank receipt - but no guidance on how much info needed to be filled out. I had to ask; he barked that I just needed to list the item. I drove away with one of the most bitter tastes in my mouth for Habitat for Humanity's operation of this Restore location. Again I will never return to make any donations. This is now the third bad experience I have had in donating at the 10th Street location. (Unfortunately I had one similar bad experience w donations at the Roseville Restore.) Again, I had nothing but positive buying and donating experiences with the Fairfield Restore location - for over 8 years. Management and staff were wonderful there. (Note: There is definitely a markedly different Habitat approach between the regions for the Fairfield vs Sacramento/Roseville operations.) Some major changes in managerial approaches and oversight of staff and their compliance with policies/practices are needed for the 10th Street location. Some staff and/or volunteers should be removed from interacting with customers. This is unfortunate given Habitat's worthy purpose. read more

I absolutely love the staff. I shop a lot, recently my mom went in today and purchased a table. Unfortunately it didn't fit in the car so we went to get our truck, came back and the employee MILAN sold our table to someone else. WE PURCHASED THE TABLE ALREADY. Milan already knew that we purchased the table, and still decided to sell it to someone else. The policy is that the item has to go on the same day it is purchased right? Well the day wasn't over. I was gone maybe 1 hour. Like I said I love the store and the other staff members because they are very friendly and kind, but Melin sir that's not right and honestly from what I've heard from some people at the store is that you are racist so you've gotta go. read more

Before you buy anything here, check the price new at Home Depot or similar. The prices are ridiculous. I saw a used, slightly damaged Danby microwave here for $75. Which is roughly the same price as a microwave new, if not more. Off brand, basic lighting fixtures for $15? You can get something similar at a retail store and actually be able to bring it back if it doesn't work. It's might be possible to get something here at a good price, but not everything. Sure it's nice to save some materials and have the money go to a good cause, but considering they don't accept returns if the item doesn't work or fit in your space, it would probably be better to buy it new. (I've been to other ReStore locations that are more reasonable on prices and have better stuff in stock though.) read more

A buddy of mine has been telling be about this place for a while, and it's great if you are creative and want to look for cheap materials for projects around your house. This place is big warehouse filled with tiles, sinks , floor boards, french doors, windows, doors, wood, sinks and even bathtubs and much more. Most used, but some look good as new. It seems most are donated from older homes. Lots of nice tiles, some beautiful but in small (spare) batches. If you own a home and you want to replace a window or door with an updated double paned model, you be wise to drive out and look here. They have some incredible stuff, at even less than 10% than retail. Some were completely new, but the selection is hit or miss. If you drop in in the winter, wear something warm. Manufacturers, developers and others donate surplus and bound-for-landfill building materials that HFH sells at a discount to the public. Neat, huh? From a layperson's perspective, it was fun to see Sac's 'Warehouse District' and an adventure to browse. I can only imagine that true DIYers can find and make good use of the real bargains. read more
