We like thrift stores. We like St. Vincent de Paul. Sacramento is a worthy stop. We had an extra hour. I developed knowledge in woods and furniture early in life. St. V's usually has quality furniture, well made. This store has square footage and volume. A vast inventory. As generations arrive and leave, thrift stores contain the remnants. Lots of furniture is the pressboard, particle board and veneer of the 70's-2000's. There were still some great finds, oak, a very nice likely mahogany table, 2 leaves, with a coat of paint. Another good dining room set. A cool old dresser and mirror. Our place is too small, 700 miles away and full of quality old furniture. Not necessarily matching, but quality. We left with four items, two of them sealing glass jars, able to hold about four cups of ? each. Ours are raisin jars. We like wooden hangers, found a bundle for two dollars. We had been at the Pendleton Woolen Factory and seconds store the week before. We found a nice Pendleton Branded (therefore expensive) quilt in a belted package, unused, $14. Not wool, a weather resistant quilt, great for a car blanket. Would we return? Yes. read more

Our first stop today in our day out of thrifting. My mom came up for a visit and she loves thrifting. I came upon this thrift storm from another yelper that I follow. He raved about this thrift store. So I saved it till my mom showed up and we put it on our list. Google maps got us there without a hitch, or almost. We did have to do a U-Turn to get into their driveway, which wasn't bad, the traffic stopped ahead of us due they had a signal so all was good. This is a huge thrift store. You can't miss it from the road. It's on Watt Ave before the bowling alley if you are coming from the 50. They used to be behind a thriving shopping center, but that fizzled out so I'm rarely in this area anymore now that my grandma doesn't bowl there anymore. They have everything here include furniture that they will deliver. That's a surprise. I didn't inquire the fee, but I bet it's worth it. When you walk in they have a board that tells you what colors are on sale. I bought a few things that were 25% off and got one top for 50% off. What a deal. I bet people shop by tag colors and go for the white ones as those items are only $1. What a deal. I didn't see any white, tags, but I wasn't really looking for things by tag colors. I was more focused on things that I wanted and if it had the right colored tag than good for me. They have so much clothing. And I'm mostly focused on clothing and Puzzles. Everything is divide by type and size. There are several alcoves. One had women's dresses in it, which I looked at, but didn't see anything that was worth trying on. I found 2 sets of winter PJs for $6.99 for the set. One silky set in maroon and a 2nd set that was cotton and had maroon stripes along with grey and white. I got a black and white Calvin Kline T-Shirt with Calvin in Silver lettering for $2. I got 2 100 piece puzzles for a friend who had a stroke recently. She's going stir crazy and said 100 piece puzzle would be perfect. And theses weren't kiddy designs either so these were perfect. One was of sea shells and the other is of a decorated elephant. Those were only $1.50 each. They were 25% off what a good deal. And I got 2 other tops for $3.99 each. Back to the puzzles. They are the only store we when to today that had such a wide variety of 100 piece puzzles. I was really impressed by their selection. They also had puzzles with more pieces in them, but none of those got our attention. I don't know if they have restrooms, but they do have fitting rooms. They allow you to take 5 items in at a time, which is totally fair. With dressing rooms going out of style these days, this is a total find. They have so much clothing, they even have a blue room with the more desirable items in it. I looked around, but didn't see anything that caught my eye. Nothing stood out to me as being as a good find. They were pricier than I wanted to pay for those types of items. If you did find anything there you are asked to pay for them separately and not take them out of the area till they are paid for. Parking is ok. They have a lot right out front that was full when we arrived, we parked by the side of the building which was more convenient for me in pulling in and backing out. The other parking lot looked tight. I'm totally sold on this thrift store. I'm going to put it into our rotation. read more

I've always found 'thrifting' to be somewhat of an enjoyable experience as you absolutely have no idea what you might end up finding. This takes me to a visit to the Arden-Arcade neighborhood where I am reviewing "St. Vincent De Paul Thrift Store". Located directly on Watt Ave and adjacent to Butano Dr, the current building has been around roughly since 2008 (they were at a larger building prior to this). The parking lot is actually quite generous and can accommodate quite a few vehicles for customers. I came here during the afternoon on Saturday 2/21/2026 at around 1:00pm. The place was absolutely packed with shoppers. One interesting thing to point out about this store is the overall building design. The entire interior has a very different floorplan. Rather than being a square or rectangular shape, it has a unique entrance that leads towards the furniture and book/movie area (much like two different stores joining forces). However, this place has a lot to choose from. You will see an abundance of shirts, sweaters, coats, pants, hats, and shoes available for men, women, and children. They also offer a lot of games, toys, home products, kitchen items, bowls, glassware, cups, small electronics, books, audio (CD's), video (VHS tapes/DVD's), and even musical instruments. However, if you're in need of furniture, this place is as good as it gets. Here you will find recliners, living room groups, dinette sets, curio cabinets, bookcases/bookshelves, even grandfather clocks. Best of all, prices on all of this is very affordable. When it comes down to it, "St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store" in Sacramento is a very well-run business. It is very well lit, the customers are very helpful, and much of the merchandise is in very good condition. Even though it was packed during my most recent visit, I didn't feel cramped or claustrophobic. And with very generous hours being open 10:00am-6:00pm daily, this place is an above average thrift store. My rating, a respectable four stars. read more

Amazing selection of very reasonably priced clothes! I had a heaping basket of clothes to try on. There is a 5 item max, but you can keep the basket close to the counter and come out to get the next five items as you go. I think the highest priced item I got was $5.99. My friend chatted up one of the employees while I was in the dressing room and had a grand ol time doing that. I only thoroughly looked through the dresses, skirts, and jeans, so there's still a lot more to explore the next time I pay a visit. I'm in need of some new furniture, so I may be back soon to check out their back room, which I didn't get the chance to view during my visit. For $60 I got two pairs of jeans, two skirts, a pair of shoes, four pairs of earrings, a vintage coat, a lapel pin/broach type thing, a sweater, and two ties. What a steal. I highly recommend St Vincent De Paul to anyone looking to revamp their wardrobe on a budget! read more

The service here is AWEFUL and apparently that is OK because it is a non profit organization - according to the supposed manager who came out to assist. When I say assist what I mean is she came out to refuse to help which was a waste of everyone's time. I know Marijuana is legal in CA but several of the people working in there stink of it. I WISH this place honored St Vincent by helping those in need instead of wallowing in the tiny power play they can execute by not helping. Huge fish, small pond manager with ZERO concept of service or decency on top of being very unprofessional. They have a constantly rotating selection of donated goods, ranging from clothing, furniture, and home goods, like electronics and kitchen items. The store is largely affordable and they always have some items on sale, down to 99 cents. read more

I was in town and had some time to kill so I decided to stop by at Vincent's thrift store. Overall everything was well organized. Each room had its own category of goods. The clothes and shoes were sectioned off by size which was super helpful! The items were fairly priced imo. read more

I have been coming here for a while. Each time they have excellent customer service. At the front desk register and delivery workers all super friendly. It's organized and clean. Everything has its place. But I've seen the change they have made and I really like it. They use to have the register in the middle now it's along the walls and more registers. Nice place with lots of options. There are lots of really great items, but they are high priced! I saw some shoes there for over $159.99! Wowzers! I picked up a few really fun looking sunglasses, and a shirt. I recommend this place if you're looking for high end items and don't mind paying a slight premium. They have raised their prices considerably and are over charging people now for any items they feel are worth money. They did a makeover of the store and while it looks nice, don't waste your time. From charging 40 dollars for a used jacket that is not even in that great a condition and was priced new at about 60.oo dollars; to a wooden table that they want 400.00 dollars for that simply wasn't worth what they were asking. They've decided to jump on the bandwagon like Ecco thrift and thrift town, and are using the excuse of inflation for charging more. When ALL the stuff they get is DONATED TO THEM for the most part. So much for the purpose of their store. The people that work there are nice but unfortunately this store is no longer a thrift store and they act like they are a high end store which they are not and no longer a viable option for shopping. You can find better deals at other places for much less money. It's a shame. read more

in from of town and decided to stop here. I've been a little fed up with the crazy price increases at the Goodwill. I see a couple of reviews where people say that this place is also overpriced. But I did not find that AT ALL. The staff was extremely friendly. The selection was large. The store is very big. And they had some incredible discounts. Items that were marked down to $.99. 50% off. And 25% off. I almost didn't buy anything at full price. They also have a senior discount on Tuesdays. I also found that the store was very well staffed, and there were a lot of people around to help. Dressing rooms open so easy to shop there extensive apparel. Maybe my only gripe is that they don't have a public restroom. I get it. But it would've made for an easier shopping experience. I asked at the register and the guy was very friendly and told me that the grocery store across the street was the closest place. They held my items while I ran across the street. I shop here randomly. About every 2-3 months, for years. This week I was driving from work and decided to stop by. Had a huge backpack with me as that day I did not carry a purse to work. Decided to take my wallet, two phones, car keys and my work badge and put all that in a plastic bag as I did not want to carry my work backpack with me and as I had no pockets to put any of that in. I Was stopped immediately as I walked IN the store and was asked to show my bag. I shop at high end stores and bring huge bags with me with my work papers and laptop and no one appears to care. But here I was not able to bring a small bag plastic bag to keep my hands free. I will not put myself in that position again and in that environment. I understand if I was asked to show my bag as I was leaving but as I walked in ?? There is no difference between a small female purse and a small plastic bag. I get it that people are stealing but with these actions it seems you are pushing wrong people away. read more

I honestly don't know how to rate this place because there were positives and negative's I found. The best part we're the deals they had going on with the tags. I love when thrift stores do this since it makes new to me clothing all that much more affordable. The selection of clothing is not all that much, but there were a few good ones my little sister and I were able to find. The best part was seeing those sale prices come into effect. I also enjoyed that the more "name brand" items were in another little room. I also liked the furniture selection. Some negatives were the funky smell there was in sections of the store. Also the process of taking in clothing should be a little more thorough since some t-shirts had holes and smelled a bit. Other than that it was a cool store. read more

St. Vincent de Paul thrift endures. Largish store with so many jam-packed aisles. I wended my way back past the furniture section to books, home decor, like baskets, kitchenware. So many pieces of furniture. Always worth a look-see, because there's plenty of buying and new donated items coming in. Front of the store is not pretty, it's serviceable. Jam-packed with clothes, shoes, purses and odd items in display cases. You just never know what you'll find here. read more

They have been needing a driver for about a month I applied for employment there because that is my favorite side of town. This place is *so well organized* with a great selection of home goods! I live in the Bay Area and sadly so many of the thrift stores are junky & overpriced. While there were a few items that gave me sticker shock, overall the cost of goods seemed reasonable and the shopping experience was so pleasant. This place has gone the way of Eco Thrift. Crazy expensive and now has a fancy curated boutique area filled with vintage stuff priced like a antique store. Oh, and records priced like a record store but with out the record store perks such as clean, properly graded albums with plastic sleeves and inner paper sleeves. I used to go to this place all the time when I worked close to them. I haven't been in a while now, but you do have to look around like any thrift shop. They do get in furniture and a lot of vintage and antique goods all the time. That's the best part of the store in my opinion. read more
