Dr. Schneider provided absolutely no helpful information during my appointment. He barely examined me and seemed more interested in talking about his personal life than addressing my injury. I left with no meaningful guidance on how to manage my pain or improve my condition. I even had to push just to get an MRI ordered. This was, without a doubt, the worst experience I've ever had with a doctor. I spent a significant amount of money expecting professional medical care, yet I walked away feeling like I got more useful information from a simple Google search than from my appointment. To make matters worse, when I scheduled the appointment over the phone, I was told the cost would be $237. When I arrived, the front desk informed me it would actually be $450. There was no explanation, empathy, or effort to resolve the discrepancy. Between the poor communication, the lack of quality care, and the unexpected charges, I will not be returning to Resurgens. This was an extremely disappointing experience, and I cannot recommend this practice based on how I was treated. read more

I had a 3 pm appointment with Dr. Moss for hip pain. I arrived at 2:45 (I had already completed the online paperwork). I was taken back around 3:10, got x-rays, and was put into an exam room to wait for the doctor. About 4:30, the door opened and someone poked their head in and asked if I was someone else. At 5:00 pm, they were closing the office and someone opened the door and asked who I was. The doctor was gone. The PAs were gone (my appt was with the doctor). I had been abandoned in an exam room...FOR 2 HOURS. The doctor called me at home to offer a telemedicine appointment and to call in something for pain. I refused because I hadn't met the man in person and there had been no history or physical done. read more

Appt time was 10:30 am for a follow up-but I was not seen until after 11:15 am resulting in a wait of over an hour. While I understand that delays can happen, there was no communication from the staff about the reason for the extensive wait time or an updated estimate. We had a very negative experience with Dr. Grimm and Dr. Denis. During a procedure, the pain management was inadequate and afterward there was no clear guidance from either doctor. They pointed at each other instead of taking responsibility or providing coordinated care. Follow-up appointments were extremely frustrating. Dr. Grimm was dismissive, walked out while questions were being asked, and provided almost no helpful guidance. We were ignored, hung up on, and had to call multiple times just to get minimal acknowledgment. There was little empathy, no clarity, and no accountability from anyone involved. The lack of communication and coordination made an already stressful experience far worse. We ultimately switched providers because we could not trust that proper care or guidance would be given. read more

I went in to have my knee evaluated after a recent injury and saw Samuel Watmore. While his bedside manner was pleasant, his follow-up and aftercare were completely inadequate. He failed to send my medications initially, forcing me to call and chase them down. When I requested to speak with him directly, his medical assistants took the call instead, and he continuously pushed me off as if I were an inconvenience. He acts as though he doesn't need to communicate directly with patients, which has seriously diminished my experience and confidence in his care. read more

Surgery can be a frightening and overwhelming experience. One would hope for providers that provide a road map of the pre and post surgical experience. Can't recommend this facility for post operative care. Post surgery, instructions, expectations and directions are very limited and often contradictory between various individuals. I have no doubt the surgeon is skilled however convalescent care is almost non existent. I have been told several times what I should have done, but was not given any guidelines until 2 1/2 weeks after surgery. Would give zero stars if possible. read more

My knees have been hurting me for months and my doctor referred me to a orthopedics dr to see if they can help. I called to make an appointment and they had an appointment available for the same day. Most of the intake paperwork was done over the phone and then I received an email to fill out a few more forms. I was able to complete everything before arriving, so when I checked in my file was complete. Upon arriving to the floor, a gentleman took my temperature and asked me covid related questions. I was then able to go to the check in area. Everyone had on masks and sanitizer was available for hands. Dr Rosenstein was very friendly and knowledgeable. He presented me with many options and he was very gentle when he took care of my painful knee. He also told a few jokes to keep me laughing. read more

I saw Dr. Phani Dantuluri at this office. I arrived 15 minutes earlier than my appointment time and waited over 1-1/2 hours to be seen. Thank goodness I did not arrive any sooner. While waiting, the nurses and CNAs had loud conversations about random subjects. The front desk reception is borderline rude. The doctor finally came in the exam room with his teen son, who was obviously just hanging out for the Summer. The doctor didn't bother to ask me if it was okay for him to be there. The exam was rather quick and he was a bit matter of fact. I didn't really feel like he cared about my issue that much. He seemed tired and ready to go home. I was instructed to check out at the front desk, but when I got there, the receptionists had already left for the day. Nobody bothered to ensure that someone was sitting there to help me before they told me to go check out. I don't think I'll be following up. read more

Honestly I was not even able to get my foot in the door. I am having current back issues and needed to see a physician but was turned away because I had back surgery in 2014 (over 10 years ago). Danielle stated the doctors there do not want to touch anyone who has had surgery performed by another doctor. The surgeon who performed my previous surgery has retired. Do NOT use Resurgens in Acworth! My elderly mother fell and was seen last week and told she had a deep bone bruise in her hip and leg and needed physical therapy. She was told no broken bones, but she is still in EXCRUCIATING PAIN. Her ankle is 5x the normal size and blue, and she called this morning, and was told there isn't anything wrong with her ankle. They didn't suggest that she come in. Her ankle was never x-rayed. She was told last week that she needed physical therapy. Today - over the phone - "Nah, you don't need PT". She cannot walk she is in SO MUCH pain, and NO ONE seems to care at that office. If you have elderly parents who need real care, STAY AWAY from Resurgens. They will hurt them more than they will help them. read more

I saw Dr Jeffords for a consultation on my spine pain. Brought MRI' s to him as requested. He referred me to Resurgeons on The 8th floor for a steroid epidural injection. Dr Chambers performed this but did the wrong levels. She admitted it , which she told me she had to. This sort of thing is unacceptable. They have needles and working on your spinal cord. Went back to Jeffords office for a follow up, he was a no show but his PA took care of me. Actually she was more informative and took time needed. The opposite of Jeffords. After seeing what Happened with the Dr they referred me to, referred me to Peachtree Spine . Set up the appointment, finally was able to find a driver. They called me last minute, (tonite) and cancelled my injection at their clinic for tomorrow am. due to "technical difficulties " . Wow! I received care at the McDonough Location. It took me going to others orthopedic doctor to find out I have a bulging disc in my neck not one time did the team there let me know this information. That only time I thought in was just one in my back. The nurse practitioners I had did not really have any ledge with the Doctor. Meet with Dr Pine how was rude and did not agreed with the nurse practitioners medical records. I did not receive the best care and they did not have anymore options for me another than medication, steroid injections and epidermal. When I went to other orthopedic providers they had alot more options for my pain. When I told Dr Pine my primary provider's referred me to other orthopedic office because she was surprised the lack of concern resurgens had for my pain issues. Which I told Dr Pine I was getting another treatment options that was not even giving to me there he told me while we got that too but if you choose them for it then OK. This review is in regards to the office staff /front desk (whoever takes and moves appointments) at the St. Joseph's/Sandy Springs location. I booked an appointment months ago for radio frequency ablation. I've had debilitating back pain from a twice herniated L4/5. I was to see my doctor on September 22 for an ablation procedure. I thought it was weird that I had not received any pre-op phone call, so I called the Thursday before my Monday Appointment. I spoke to kind nurse to walked me through my questions. While wrapping up the call, she mentioned "Are you still under the impression you have your appointment this coming Monday?" I responded ...."Uh, yes....what other appointment would I be calling about?" Long story short, they cancelled this appointment a month ago ( for a reason unknown) and called me 1 time while I was teaching my 1st grade students in a school setting. Obviously, I could not pick up the phone during class, so I was unaware. They never called me again to follow up. I never knew this appointment was cancelled. I planned a family vacation and family transportation with elderly parents around this procedure, and 2 other doctors' appointments around this. What an incompetent office staff! (they typically are rude so this tracks). They may have good doctors at Resurgens, but their office staff is very much so lacking and perhaps need a bit of remediation on how to conduct patient calls/messaging. My new appointment is now booking a month out. This tells me this office staff could care less about patients and their pain levels. read more

I was charged $500 out-of-pocket for a lower back XRay and a consultation with an assistant (non MD). That is going through my insurance, in-network. That is absurd. The assistant prescribed some steroids that they never sent to my pharmacy. That is just extremely expensive for a simple consultation, and in my book this place is basically a scam. read more

I saw Dr. Milan Patel today, and although I usually don't write reviews, I felt this experience needed to be shared. If I could rate zero stars I would! From the start, it was awful. Dr. Patel dismissed my pain, attributing it to my gender because it's more common in women. His immediate recommendation was surgery, which seemed like a profit-driven suggestion. (No nerve study to confirm my carpal tunnel) When I expressed my interest in exploring other options, (therapy) he quickly dismissed them and seemed irritated that I didn't agree to surgery. His attitude became unfriendly, making me feel belittled. After going back and forth for about 5 minutes I said I'm done, I mentioned I would be changing doctors and leaving a review to warn others, he responded, "Are you threatening me?!" Scheduled an appointment with Dr Evander Fogle @ Resurgens Orthopedics for shoulder/arm pain. The entire team from scheduling, pre-check in link, front desk, PA, X Ray, Dr Evander Fogle are excellent. Ended up with diagnosis of a frozen shoulder. Dr Fogle explained using my X Ray. Prescribed a cortisone shot and nsaids meds, with f/u of physical therapy. Really appreciate this expert team led by Dr Fogle! read more

My experience at the St. Joseph's location. While the doctors and therapists are great, the office staff really lacks moral manners. My therapists front desk almost always never has tickets to validate for the parking. they give you a $2 validation every time I go for therapy that they charge me $140 for each time. so they ask me to go to the doctors front desk where they have validations for parking too. the girl at the front desk there tells me she dosent have any more. but provided it to the person right after me. the lady shows me her validation in the elevator. how pathetic is that. not sure I care for this sort of behavior. read more

I'm tempted to give them 1 star, but the doctor was ok... communications however are horrible. Calls are greeted with a queue - "your position in the queue is... #56, #47, #89", no exaggeration. After the doctor told us surgery would be necessary, we've been calling daily to schedule. Never having spoken to a human on these calls, we've left messages... that "will be answered by the end of the day"... or never?! The doctor was OK, a little dismissive of me as the wife, but I can overlook this. The recording suggests the option of contact via the portal. When we try to establish an account in the portal, I get a message saying he needs to be a current patient... he is... or asking me to call - "your position in the queue is 64." read more

I recently (October 27) had a left knee replacement by Dr Ron Hall. I couldn't be happier with my results. I was driving at two weeks and hitting Costco at three with no limp and very little discomfort. Dr Hall, PA Quentin and the rest of the staff at Resurgeons were excellent. I had no problem with appointments or medication refills. I'm about finished with outpatient PT at Emory rehab in Norcross and this morning my range of motion was 0-143. I give my experience a 10 out of 10!!! read more

I recently had a total hip replacement surgery performed by Dr Jeff Peritz at Emory St Joseph Hospital and I am thrilled with the results. For the past three years I have been unable to walk without severe grinding pain in my hip. I was almost to the point of being home bound. I saw Dr Peritz in September and had my surgery on October 2. I couldn't be happier! Just four weeks out and I am walking again without pain. The staff at Resurgens handled everything in a quick and professional manner which made it super easy for me. All I had to do was show up! I couldn't be happier. Then I booked a PRP PROCEDURE for 8:30am and they of course tell you to arrive 30 min early, and I sat in the room for 63 min to walk out and ask what was going on?! They just said we're waiting on the phlebotomist... she or he never came. But don't worry the office mgr validated my parking. (Thanks). I saw my orthopedic doctor exactly once though I was treated there for approximately three years. Luckily both of the PAs that I worked with were very skilled, but my knee did not get better under their care and the doctor made no effort to get involved in my case at all. When physical therapy was prescribed, I got assigned to a particularly unpleasant physical therapist who made it difficult by insisting I wear a mask even though mask mandates are long over and in fact, it was proven that wearing a mask is in many cases detrimental. as soon as I switched to another orthopedic doctor found immediate relief/repair which I was told at resurgence was not possible read more

Exceptional Foot and Ankle Care Marissa M Akin, PA ( foot and ankle) at the Resurgens St Joes locations. I tripped on a sidewalk that was not even, when I was walking downtown after a funeral. I went down hard and scraped one knee, leg and broke my foot on the side. I was hoping it was a sprain and did not go in right away. I had a confirmed appointment with Dr. Clark, but he at last minute advised he would be unable and would I see his PA, Marissa M Akin. It was the BEST decision I made in what would be brutal 8 or so week. PA Akin, took x-rays, looked at my one leg, and suggested there might be an infection, and anti-biotics would be appropriate, and put me on a regular cadence of coming in to check on my broken foot. PA Akin was patient, detailed and transparent with me, showing me the xrays, the area of break and in time, the healing. She explained ( using statistics), that some are slower healers ( I am a older women, etc.). From the moment I walked into the PA Akin office, I was greeted by a warm and friendly staff, which immediately put me at ease. PA Akin was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to listen to my concerns and thoroughly explain my break and treatment protocol. What impressed me the most was PA Akin's genuine concern for my well-being and their willingness to answer all of my questions, ensuring that I felt comfortable and understood the treatment plan. Her expertise in foot and ankle care was evident, and I felt confident in their abilities every step of the way ( pun intended). PA Akin, had a smile on her face, answered all my questions and gave me as much time as I needed. She was on time, through and proffessonal. She was compassionate and empathetic and I am glad I saw her. Marissa M Akin, PA - deserves a brownie point, and raise, she was wonderful. read more

I am retired military and have Tricare Prime Medical. Tricare is the medical insurance for all Active Military and Retired Military. Well, Resurgens Orthopedics does not except our insurance, so they do not except medical care for our Military Service men, women and retired. They should be ashamed that they feel Military, and family do not deserve their care. At first, I thought it was a tech glitch, but nay, they seem terribly understaffed or poorly trained. Exasperated, I finally drove to the location and spent almost an hour trying to get a CT scan scheduled, only to be told, "all our scheduling is off-site" or "I left our supervisor a voicemail" and finally told to my face the *only* solution was to call back! Not a single real human could help. Incredible. If you do go, check out the expensive, flashy banner they have in the lobby about 'commitment to patient care.' What a load of steaming manure!
