I was in a lot of pain post op and when i asked the nurse for pain medication..she said I'll get it in a minute and continued her conversation. I was literally crying from pain and had to ask again. Two staff members named Grace and Andrea said the delay was fine. Andrea actually laughed when i explained what happened to my mom who was there with me. Grace was sarcastic, condescending and rude during the whole interaction with her. Avoid this surgical center. I should have checked the reviews. read more

The care of quality, scheduling and nursing was very good. However, my experience with Maria in the billing department illustrated a much different manner. Got into a car accident...maybe the adrenaline rush of it all had me on the high that numbed the pain because two days after the accident I could barely walk. Time to go to the doctor! Setup an appointment, and about 1.5 hour wait...ridiculous. I think the doctor thought I just wanted to be high on drugs, because no medication was given. He was like you look athletic and you aren't limping badly so you'll be alright. They took some xrays that weren't necessary because I know I didn't break anything. I just needed some medication for muscle tension...which they didn't provide. Needless to say if I do get into another car accident (heaven forbid) I won't be coming back here. Oh and the office is nice, which is a good thing since you'll be waiting a LONG TIME.... read more

Recently went for an issue with my shoulder. The wait was more than an hour both times. Seems like they are over booking for the money. Understand the occasional delay but both visits wait time 1.5 hrs+ and the second was for a single shot by a PA? Have to question quality of care if they can't schedule within 30 mins for routine care. I'll not return. Do not recommend. read more

I recently had outpatient surgery at Resurgens. It was the 1st time I was having "open" surgery. Needless to say, I was extremely nervous. I was contacted prior to surgery to let me know of everything that needed to be done prior to surgery day. When surgery day came and I arrived, the staff was extremely supportive & informative. I felt like I was a baby being coddled. It was great! The staff was very punctual ensuring surgery began on time. I knew every step of what was happening before surgery began. As someone with bad knees and a bad back (thanks genetics), I have needed to have an Orthopedist longer than most any other doctor. I have been very fortunate to have an excellent doctor look after me and keep me with my original joints this long. Never quick to cut, or order expensive procedures, Dr. Rosenstein has always discusses all options before making any recommendations. I trust what he tells me and I follow any instructions he gives. I have had injections that have eased the knee pain and followed up with physical therapy. The medical assistants/nurses are very helpful and take care of any needs between visits. Any time I have a problem with any other part of my skeleton (hand, foot, etc), the nurses recommend someone great within the practice who specialize in that area. It certainly makes life easy. I wouldn't be walking so well without these guys! read more

I managed to hurt my knee and was recommended to Resurgens to see Dr. Rosenstein. When I called to make my appointment, the client services staff member I spoke to was pleasant, efficient, and super informative. She was able to fit me in within a week, on a day and time that worked for me. When I got to the building, I found the office without too much trouble (the concierge are super helpful about directing you to the right place). Check in was fast and my wait was less than 10 minutes (the nurse called me in before I even finished all my paperwork/patient history forms). The nurse was nice and quick about ordering my X-rays. The wait on those were less than 5 minutes. Once those were done I saw the doctor fairly quickly. Dr Rosenstein was great! After his physical exam and after he reviewed my X-rays, he went through the differentials and gave me options. He listened to what I was and wasn't willing to try (no steroids for me today thanks) and outlined what to expect and what the next steps were if plan a didn't work. The whole experience left me pretty confident in his diagnosis and care. All in all great experience, I was in and out in an hour with lots of information and a treatment plan. The front desk was even able to give me a parking validation even though I forgot my ticket in my car (it's the little things). read more

I drove my mom here to get surgery on her knee, perhaps she should be the one writing this review? Heh. All I did was drop her off, sit in the waiting area, and play on my laptop until it was time to go. It was nice inside, clean. Easy to get around. The staff was friendly and seemed genuine. They were especially helpful at directing me to where I could find coffee. :P When it was time to go, I had to drive my car around the side of the building where patient pickups were taking place. One of the staff brought my mom out in a wheel chair then helped me help her into the car. It was an overall smooth process! read more

I went to Resurgens based on a recommendation from the urgent care center I visited after hurting my knee playing softball last fall. Turns out I tore my ACL and the team at Resurgens has been absolutely fabulous as I've been dealing with that and the associated surgery, physical therapy, etc. I see Dr. Thomas Ross (he rotates between St. Joseph's and Emory Crawford Long in Midtown) and he's wonderful. Always takes time to answer as many questions as I have, appts generally on time (within 5-10 mins), and in general has taken really good care of me and my knee. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Resurgens and Dr. Ross in particular to anyone having knee issues. The physical therapy dept at Resurgens has been great as well - it's easy to schedule appts (even ones close to the end of the day to avoid having to leave work too early) and they got me back on my feet and into advanced rehab treatment ASAP. If you're going to get hurt, these are the ppl to make you better fast. read more

Five stars for Dr. Rosenstein & his care. Two stars for their billing. Good gravy... I changed insurance about a year ago & dealing with their billing department has been a nightmare. I wrote them a check on June 1 to pay off my remaining balance. And waited. And waited. And waited. I called them on June 15 to confirm they'd even gotten the check. They said they had & it had been posted to my account, the money should be coming out of my bank account. I called them yesterday & was told the check had been posted on the 20th, not the 15th. It's now been 3 weeks & they still haven't taken the money out of my bank account in spite of being told twice that my check had posted. Considering the other two medical practices I wrote checks to on the same day & mailed at the same time cleared the checks in 2 weeks or less, I'm unimpressed with their level of service. read more

THE MORROW GA LOCATION, the receptionist was out right UNPROFESSIONAL !! While in line to pay my copay, she rudely and loudly told me that i had a balance due and THAT I BETTER NOT try to come back without paying my bill and that she would put a RED FLAG on my account so that I am not seen in their office_ and for me not even try and see my DOCTOR until I PAY. She got other people in line and coming through the door into the conversation. The other receptionist got involved too- both talking about my finances with everyone (strangers) involved in my business. read more

love love love this place! my favorite therapist is Amy Ross and i HIGHLY recommend her. i've used her twice -- for a knee injury and ankle injury. the price depends on your insurance but for me, it was worth the money. i was also done a little early (healing) for both so i didn't do the full term of therapy. the surroundings are clean, lots of windows with light and the staff is friendly. the rest of the doctors seem nice as well - smile a lot or joke around. there are a couple more reserved ones. good equipment and exercise regimens. i love the big ice packs that bend and shape to your spot you need cold. highly knowledgeable staff that talks to you in regular english to help you understand what is wrong. big parking ramp for you to park in nearby. go here if you need physical therapy - you will be healed and you will enjoy it! great customer service and personal touch! read more

I would not recommend the Resurgens Surgery Center. When I attempted to have the procedure submitted to my insurance company (in-network) their staff refused to file the claim stating that it was not covered. After nearly one year I had all the costs covered by insurance despite obstructionist and non-communicative behavior from their administrative employees. They lied to the insurance company stating that they were resolving the issue directly with me. They did not contact me and their only consistent message was, "it's not covered". I even had a member of their staff listed to my insurance company indicate they would cover. Their lack of professionalism was only rivaled by their ineptitude to do one basic thing: care and respect the patient. My insurance company contact even candidly commented that they felt the surgery center was being "cagey and obstructionist". I had to threaten to involve a lawyer to get action. They finally paid what I was owed and summarily "dismissed me as a patient". Of course I had no intention of ever going again. I have no concern that the doctors and nurses were doing their job the best they could. Don't let the surgery center bully you in your time of need. Look elsewhere. read more

I've met with the Orthopedic surgeons at Resurgens, and agree that they have beautiful office space. But honestly, when it came right down to it and I had to pick a surgeon to replace my hip, I went elsewhere, where I found more expertise. I couldn't have been happier with my decision. read more

Dr McBride and his hand group of docs at St Joseph's are the best that you can find. They are concerned and compassionate. I am a surgeon and would be lost without fingers and hands that function properly and despite having a number of problems over the years with my hands, they have diagnosed me quickly and managed to help me avoid sugery. Thanks for being there for me and I would not trust my hands to any other group. They will work you in if you are having an emergency and you then may have to wait a little, but it does not matter since you know you are seeing the best. Dr J read more

Took my Mom to Resurgens Ortho at St Hospital location and was very disappointed with her care of her fractured back. gave her narcotics sent her home. On second visit she was turfed to the P.A. Who said she was doing fine, just go home. It asked about a brace and he said that would be a good idea. Why did I have to bring that up? She was hospitalized at St Joseph's for the same extreme pain, and they would not admit her, just oberservation. Watch out Medicare patients. She was released with nothing done. Four days after "discharge" my mother was taken by ambulance to Kennestone hospital, watch was a blessing. Dr. Bennett Grimm was on call and asked me why she had not had surgery? Told him her doctors at St. Joseph's said she was not a candidate. I was so upset and stressed. My Mother decided on the surgery and Dr. Bennett Grimm ( ortho spine surgeon ) was wonderful, he took his time even on a Sunday at the hospital. To date is doing well and in rehab. I thank DR. BENNETT GRIMM You have been wonderful. By the way will never go to St. Joseph's hospital or docs there again. read more

My first visit to Resurgens was sub-par. Nothing great, nothing bad... except Doctor Sloan who didn't have 3 words to speak to me. Instead, I had to listen for my diagnosis while he talked into his microphone for his transcriptionist. Anyways... 3-4 weeks of PT and a steroid. As much as I expected, with a herniated L5. I found myself in worse shape after each of the first three physical therapy sessions. I never even made it to the strengthening therapy because the first 3 visits were all 'tests.' Nice way to use up all of my insurance visits... Anyways... After my third PT visit... one which would prove to be my last... I hurt so bad at the end of the session that I couldn't walk out. I literally laid there on a table for 30 minutes. Once I felt well enough to walk out, I drove home. One step out of my vehicle, I found myself curled up in a fetal position on my garage floor screaming for someone to help me (for 45 minutes). Thank God my fiancé came home for lunch and found me. She rushed me to the hospital to see Dr. Sloan and he didn't even have the decency to walk out and check on me. He told one of his little angels to send me to the ER because he was busy. Three people in the lobby offered me their appointment slot because they saw I was in extreme pain. It didn't matter to him. So! Off to the ER I went. Six hours, 2 doses of dilaudid (morphine), 2 doses of valium and an anti-inflammatory. Needless to say, I don't go to Resergens anymore... read more

If it was possible to give zero stars, I would. I saw Dr. Reuben Sloan in February of 2014 with complains of lower back pain persisting over four years. He took some x-rays, told me to lose weight, strengthen my core, and manage my pain with medications, medications that I never recorded because his office staff couldn't get their act together and call the prescriptions into the pharmacy. But please keep reading. I continued having complications including significant abdominal pain. In June I decided to get a second opinion from an Emory Orthopedist. He did an MRI and found a 12.6 cm tumor on my spinal cord that required immediate removal. I would never ever ever recommend a person see a Resurgens physician based on the fact that if Dr. Sloan had done a minimal part of his job by doing an MRI, they would have seen the tumor. read more

I recently got in a car accident and was referred to Resurgens for a specialist to look at my Spine. After an hour wait, I was taken back, seen by his assistant (who was nice), taken for Xrays (which had I been asked I would have denied b/c my Chiropractor had taken them already but I still hadn't seen the doctor at this point to disclose this). After a little wait, the doctor comes in and starts explaining his treatment plan...which was funny because he hadn't talked to OR evaluated me. He started me on steriods and when I told him my pain meds were making me sick he switched them to Tramadol, which pretty much does NOTHING. I tried to reach the office twice since, one of which in tears b/c I was in EXCRUCIATING pain (literally in tears) and asked if they could call something in and was told "its 430 on a Friday (business hours mind you) you will have to wait until Monday or go to the ER" ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!! Glad I paid such a pretty penny for the worst Doctors office I've ever been to. Be prepared to be treated like a number if you ever go to Dr. Reuben Sloan. I'm not one to review anything but I wanted to warn others to invest in their health with a doctor who cares. read more

AVOID "DOPSON" AT ALL COST!!! I have never been treated so rough, hurt so badly by a doctor, and never, ever, ever have I met a man as rude as Dr. Dopson. He walks in with his nose in the air, and never even lowers his head as he yells at, and literally hurts his patients. I am not the only person he has treated this way. I can't put their names on here but he has harmed, been extremely rude to, and caused myself and others to run to other doctors. This man is a monster and should not even be allowed to practice medicine. Please, don't go through what I went through, avoid this doctor for your own sake. You will wish you had paid attention to this review if you go to this monster. It's just as easy to find another doctor. Don't suffer the way he has caused me to suffer. I have been to Resurgens for both my foot and knee. They have the worst customer service ever. Everytime I went in for an appointment I waited for at least an hour or more before I even saw a doctor. One appointment I only saw a doctor for 5 minutes before he sent me home. I complained about the wait time and visit and their managment did nothing about it. I will never return to Resurgens or recommend them to anyone I know. read more

This place is the worst. These doctors couldn't care less. All they want is your money. They couldn't care less about their patients or their pain. The waiting room is nice--plan to spend a lot of time there. But, the examination rooms are dirty and look more like closets or utility storage rooms (for brooms, dustpans, and such). The past 3 times I was @ the office the wait time was over 45 minutes. The first time I waited over an an hour and the doctor saw me for 5 minutes and told me I needed an MRI. When I arrived the 2nd time, there was a sheet over the check-in sheet stating the doctor was running 45 minutes to an hour behind schedule. I opted to reschedule because I knew it would be much more than that. The third time, I sat there for 45 minutes then requested my medical records and left. They are too big and don't care about wasting patients time. read more

DO NOT USE! Patient beware! My doctor there referred me to the surgery center for procedure. They called me the day before and told me the out of pocket amount for my procedure. I paid it via credit card the day of. When I returned for a follow up visit a month later I was told that the amount I paid was only for the surgery center and not for the doctor and that i owed more money. I had never received a bill. I asked for a bill and an explanation to be sent to my home. They had miskeyed my address so we got that fixed. Six weeks later still no bill and I get a call from a collections firm. I contacted Resurgens and they told me that the amount was for a THIRD charge that I was never notified of. Their billing system is a disaster and they do not inform patients of charges and bills ahead of time. There was NO communication with me to try and pay the bill prior to turning it over to a collections firm. Decent doctors. Horrible business. read more
