[[HIGHLIGHT]]I called to schedule an appointment because I was experiencing both knee and shoulder pain. I specifically requested to see a doctor who could evaluate both conditions. I was scheduled with Dr. Yarbrough.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]After doing some research, I discovered that Dr. Yarbrough does not specialize in shoulder conditions. Concerned about this, I called the scheduling department three separate times and spoke with three different representatives. Each one assured me that Dr. Yarbrough could evaluate both my knee and shoulder and advised me to bring my previous shoulder MRI if I had it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]During each call, I specifically requested an appointment with Dr. Ansari, who specializes in both areas. Despite my repeated requests, I was continually told to keep my appointment with Dr. Yarbrough.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The first thing Dr. Yarbrough told me when he entered the exam room was that he would need to refer me to his colleague, Dr. Ansari, for my shoulder because he was not the appropriate specialist. He also ordered a new MRI. He never reviewed the MRI images that I had brought with me, despite the scheduling staff specifically instructing me to bring them. I was also required to have X-rays taken of both my knee and shoulder, even though my concern was not a bone injury. This added additional costs without addressing the reason for my visit. [[HIGHLIGHT]]After the appointment, I spoke with the front desk and explained what had happened. I was told there was nothing they could do and that I should speak with the scheduling manager.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called scheduling, requested the manager, and was told she also could not help me and that I needed to speak with the billing department.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was transferred to a billing representative named Cindy, who listened to my concerns and then said she needed to consult with her manager. When I asked to speak directly with the manager, I was told that wasn't possible, that a message would be left, and that someone would contact me later.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This entire experience was extremely frustrating. I made every effort to avoid being scheduled with the wrong provider by calling three separate times and clearly explaining my concerns.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Despite repeated assurances, I was scheduled with a physician who immediately acknowledged he was not the appropriate specialist and referred me elsewhere. As a result, I was charged for a visit that could have been avoided, and now I have to schedule another appointment. It felt like an unnecessary referral process that resulted in additional charges and delays in receiving the care I originally requested. read more

My family has used Resurgens Orthopaedis for over 20 years. We and our community are grateful for their excellent medical team and care. But, in 2026, their bill collection group has been incompetent and seems to be deliberately misleading. We have always paid our bills in full after the insurance adjustment and had not problem. We have good private insurance. In March 2026, I got a bill for services over 2 years ago, saying I still owed $2,009. I called and they said, oops, right, I'd already paid $1,016 and owed the balance. But, when I got my Insurance involved, they showed that Resurgeons had added to the bill $1,112 in costs never filed with insurance (so not adjusted, not in EOB). So, they sent me a bill showing and saying Insurance had provided, but adding over one thousand in costs for "supplies". Questionable practices. Also in March, I got a bill for services from early 2025. My EOB showed I owed zero dollars. They said I owed $2330. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called and they said they needed a new EOB and it had to come from the Insurer. Another hour of phone calls and I got that to them.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I have a confirmation from my insurer. Just got a threatening past due bill again for same amount. I have been a patient here since 2005, but after two decades, I've watched this practice shift from cutting-edge care to an insurance-driven mill that prioritizes cortisone shots and joint replacements over actual patient health. Administrative Obstruction: [[HIGHLIGHT]]The front office is at the johns creek location is a nightmare of unprofessionalism. For six months, I dealt with a passive-aggressive scheduler who lied about sending my PT referrals.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I went to the office in person seven times at different hours to speak with the office manager to resolve this. Every single time, I was told the manager was "on lunch" or "on vacation." It is clear the staff is trained to stonewall patients and avoid accountability.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Medical Care: The care has become dangerously dismissive. I specifically asked Dr. if anything was wrong with my meniscus due to a prior injury. He looked me in the eye and said, "There is nothing wrong with your meniscus," and pushed a cortisone shot for "mild arthritis." It wasn't until I requested my actual MRI report that I discovered the truth: my meniscus is so diminished that the radiologist noted it looked as if it had been "removed in a prior surgery." I have never had surgery. Not only was my meniscus essentially gone, but they completely failed to mention the tracking issues that were clearly visible. Because of this, I spent years doing PT without the full knowledge of my joint health or the stability issues I was actually facing. If you want a doctor who will be transparent about your imaging and help you stay active, do not come here. They play it safe to avoid lawsuits and collect insurance checks while gaslighting patients about the structural integrity of their joints. I had been struggling with my shoulder for a few months when I decided to come in and meet with Dr. Ansari here. I was expecting bad news, but he informed me that it was something called "frozen shoulder" which is not uncommon for diabetics, and recommended a path of PT rather than surgery. After 8 weeks, my shoulder is showing better range of motion and strength. I stopped in today and Dr. Ansari told me that if I continue to do some of the exercises at home and in the gym, I could likely be pain free in a few months. I wasn't angry; I just asked if there was anyone else I could see in the facility or any direction she could give me. One thing I like is their doctors specialize "by joint" as well as for therapeutic vs surgical options. I have osteoarthritis, so cause of my problems is known. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My favorite is Dr. Levine. He has replaced my left knee and right hip. I can't say enough about him and high praise also for Tamera Strickland and the staff at the Roswell surgical center[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I have a lot of pain and avoid 'pain pills' at all costs - so managing my health is a challenge for some doctors. Dr Wendell Cole misdiagnosed my shattered foot and ankle as a sprain!!! He did not take x-rays at my appointment. He just poked at my very purple foot and said, "It's just a sprain, and here's a post-surgical boot." [[HIGHLIGHT]]He spent a total of 2 minutes speaking with and examining me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The next day I was still in immense pain so decided to see Chateau Foot and Ankle. They did the obvious thing and ordered an MRI which revealed 5! broken bones in my ankle and 2! in my foot. This establishment highlights how terrible factory medicine is. Resurgens Cumming is a very good practice. They separate providers by limb or part of the body. This works well. Dr Ansari is great for shoulders, Dr Levine for knees, and Dr Finklestein for back. They are usually prompt. I visited Dr. Ficke for a hand problem, but he didn't exhibit the same care and attention Resurgens doctors are noted for providing. But overall Resurgens is a great practice. read more

I would not recommend going here. The front desk ladies have always been polite but the staff in the back are beyond rude. When you have a question and they're frustrated that they have to answer your questions? And Dr. Mowbry is so dry when explaining things to you, it was like he did not care. The girl that calls you in has such a horrible demeanor, she extremely rude. It seems like everyone in there absolutely hates their job. I had carpal tunnel surgery with Dr. Mowbray. From check in, to the nurses and anesthesiologist, it was nothing less than stellar. However, the star in this galaxy was Dr. Mowbray. He was kind, helpful and patient with me. I was classified as not that good a candidate for surgery. My nerves barely responded in the nerve testing. The surgery went flawlessly. No after effects of sleepiness or nausea. No pain. Best of all, it worked flawlessly! I am a writer, so it's important that I can type. I can write and also sleep without pain. In another six months, I'll have my other wrist done. If you are contemplating this surgery, don't delay. If you can get Dr. Mowbray, you'll be in excellent hands (a hand surgeon!) Nothing to fear. Seeing strong reviews I decided to go to their office in Cumming. As you read this remember I blacked out and fell 3 times on tile and was hospitalized 10 days with back problems and many other tests. As I was walking down the hallway for my first appointment a lady was walking the other way for exiting. I asked if she went to them. Shook her head yes. I asked if they were good. She shook her hand like that for so-so or mesta metsa. Should have paid attention. My first appt was with the PA. I thought she was good - took Xray's and wanted me to get MRI as thought repair to vertebrae done at hospital must be wrong because of so much pain. Have report sent to dr and bring disc to next appt. Got there for 2nd appt and waited over an hour. Finally call me. We both went is as I wanted him with me to hear all. Dr came in and told me disc had only the paperwork I filled out and not the MRI. Also report had not been sent to him. Then he proceeds to tell me that it is because of age that I am bent. I said so overnight I shrank 2 inches - yes very possible. He did not think there was anything that could be done. In years to come I will bend more - but he could give me pain meds. When I get the disc, leave it at the front desk, and he would call me to discuss. As we walked down the exit hall, my guy said Like I have said, when you get old they know they are not going to make much money so they treat you like you are stupid. I wrote on the portal to him that I could not understand his discussion w me. I had blacked out and fell 3 times on tile and been hospitalized. Guess he forwarded to PA. Later I saw message and went into portal. Message from PA: When you have disc please drop it at office and dr will review. You would not see an orthopedic surgeon for blacking out. Now do they really think I would select an ortho surgeon for black out - if you think so, book your appointment. But if you are like me - run, Forest, run! I have found a dr quite impressed with - names starts with A and his office starts with A and he is on Satellite Blvd. Now that new dr is a real 5 star. read more

Two thumbs down! I'd heard good things about Resurgens, yet my experience wasn't a good one and I won't go back. I tore my ACL and other things. I'm a recent widow who is just starting her life over, and it just so happens that I don't have insurance. While they told me what the cost would be up front and made sure I understood the charges, they wouldn't take the X-rays I brought with me that had just been taken the week before, adding an Xray charge to the bill. The doctor breezed in and was just like 'you need a full knee replacement'. I couldn't help it. I got overwhelmed and started crying. That is not like me at all. Dr. Levine couldn't have cared less about me or my situation. He talked down to me using all medical jargon. No compassion. It is what it is and I want to get it fixed but need to understand what all my options are. When I apologized for crying and explained that I'd lost my husband recently, that it was a lot and I was just trying to figure out what was best for me, Dr. Levine just pushed the knee replacement and got the hell out of there as quickly as he could, telling me I should make another appointment to see his co-worker that specializes in ACL tears. What?! WHY didn't they schedule me with that doctor when I told them I'd torn my ACL when making the appointment? The visit was almost $600 and I left feeling defeated, taken advantage of, and belittled. I'll never go back there or to any Resurgens office simply based off that one visit and how SMALL and INSIGNIFICANT Dr. Levine made me feel. This is a large business with many locations. Just know that if you go there you are a number and they don't really care! If you can, look for any another orthopedic practice. read more

This has been a very trying week for me. On Friday I get a call my insurance has an issue and delaying my scheduled knee replacement surgery on Monday until we can resolve it. I was so upset. Well Lisa and Dr Yarbrough contacted my insurance and went to bat for me, way beyond what I would have expected. Come Monday my insurance called and everything is fixed so I get surgery on Wednesday. I made an appointment with Dr. Mathew Levine he ordered an MRI.He called as I returned home and said to get to the hospital now. I had surgery the next day. My hip was fractured. I had total shoulder replacement surgery in May of this year with Dr. Drew Miller. I had a great outcome and couldn't be happier with the results. I now have full range of motion with my shoulder and will be back on the golf course soon. Additionally, all the staff in the office were very helpful, especially, his assistant Lisa Taylor guiding me through the process answering any questions. The outcome exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend Dr Miller. read more

This place came highly recommend. I've been going to them for about 20 yrs and will as long as I live. I have Dr. Covall for my knees and Dr. Finkelstein and Dr. James for my back. First my knees. I had Arthroscopy several times until it didn't work any longer. I was scared to have my knee replaced (2000) because I have heard so many bad results from people. I did everything they asked after surgery & my knee is working great with no pain (2013). Dr. Covall explains everything so you can understand what's going to happen and what to expect afterwards. Next my back. It's my lower back. I had numerous shots in my back by Dr. Finklestein until I had to have surgery (2001). It went great also. Dr. James did the surgery. They also explain everything so you can understand what's going to happen and what to expect afterwards. I am going through herniated, degenerated and slip disc problems now (in neck & back). Of course I am going to Dr. Finklestein. The people in this office are really great. You get reminder calls and the surgery center calls you very quickly to setup surgery when needed. I have recommended them to everyone I know. The ones that needed any help are now going to them and very satisfied. You will be too. read more

It's a very impersonal practice. I like my doctors to spend more than three minutes with me. They say its the modern approach, so much easier text us or email us. Except for the first visit it will take a long time to schedule again. Maybe its just me but I don't want a PA to explain my MRI they are fine for a lot of things just not this in my opinion, it is my leg after all! I did notice they quickly called me back when I cancelled my follow up, what? no text or email? My new doctor suits me much better. In a way I'm glad they weren't quick to schedule my second visit as it gave me time to consider if this practice would best suit my needs. read more

I can not say enough about how great the Resurgence team is at Northside Forsyth. Every person there is professional, friendly and helpful.......they make you feel at ease during trying times. And then there is Dr Yarbrough.....to put it in simple terms.....AWESOME. He gave me my life back. I had a severe hip issue and it needed to be replaced. What a terrific job he and his team did. I went from chronic pain to pain free. I now walk with no pain and am back to playing golf. Being normal again is not being taken for granted. I am so lucky to be able to live life again and not have to worry about when my hip pain will start.......I face every day now with a much more positive view because I am not worried about hip pain. read more

I do not recommend this facility, very unprofessional and poor training. I went to Resurgens, Cummings for disability papers to be filled by Allyson Baker, nurse practitioner for Robert Yarbrough,MD, in August 2019 after receiving excellent care at Northside Forsyth ER who diagnosed my right hamstring tear. My right thigh was very swollen and bruised with pain 10/10, I was in a wheelchair since unable to walk, and used crutches to transfer. I risked my life driving to Resurgens Cummings to have my disability papers filled which I was reassured would be performed when appointment made. Allyson Baker refused to fill my disability papers, and wouldn't even offer me leave of absence time. I had to return to work to pay my bills, since she would not fill my disability papers for a policy I pay for. I ended up having a car accident because of driving to work. Resurgens Cummings only wants money, exhausted my two medical insurance policies and then sent me a bill. I would not recommend this facility at all!! read more

I would not go to this doctor. Somehow, they seem to know how my back feels better than me. I have had 2 appointments with Dr. James and I have still not even met the man. They seem not to care about the people under their care. I am very surprised that an organization like Resurgens has such terrible patient interaction. 06/19/15 This is hip number 2 for me first one two months ago went so well went back to work 3 weeks after surgery light duty/desk work I had my second hip done on 06/15/15 today is day 4 after the surgery pain from the surgery is present but the deep down bone pain is gone Dr.Robert K Yarbrough performed my surgeries and is a wonderful surgen great bedside manor funny and shows a real concern for his paicents he even called me at home to check on me not heard of this day in time I feel Dr.Yarbrough is a top notch sergon so glad we meet. read more

I had a total hip replacement on March 6, 2017. Dr. Yarbrough and his staff get the highest rating possible as I couldn't have asked for better!
