    Ready for surgery
    Stephanie K.

My daughter had shoulder surgery in December. She began seeing Dr. Mike Morris last spring after having shoulder pain for years. I loved that he was conservative and suggested she first try physical therapy. She did that for a few months and we went back to see Dr. Morris. After hearing about her continued pain he suggested we do an MRI to see if there was a tear. I greatly appreciate that he included us in the dialogue about what was best to do. She went for an MRI with contrast at Resurgens. Every single person we dealt with was friendly and professional. The MRI showed a tear and it was decided surgery would be the best option Our daughter is in college and they worked around her schedule. On the day of the surgery we were pleased with how well we were kept in the loop as far as the timing went. Dr. Morris came to see us and Samantha before the surgery and then met with my husband and me immediately after finishing the surgery. He took pictures during the surgery so he could show us exactly what he did and how bad her tear was. The anesthesiologist also saw us before the surgery and then checked on our daughter while she was in recovery. Everyone was very friendly but we were most touched by how caring everyone was. It's obvious they love what they do. Her recovery has gone exceptionally well. She has been going to PT at Resurgens and is making great progress. We would highly recommend Resurgens. We have been very impressed with all phases of this journey. Dr. Morris is wonderful He is very kind and listens to his patients. We never felt like he was in a rush to get on to his next patient. And all of the people that work with him are super nice and professional.

Thank God for Open MRI machines. I drove an hour to get here but with my claustrophobia, it was well worth the drive. I can NOT do the long tube machines!

Right after surgery, and feeling great!

Dr. Mary Jo Albert referred me to Dr. Tamara Chachashvili for a shot in my hip for some mild arthritis pain. I was very nervous about it because I am a coward when it comes to pain and this involves a long needle. All the nurses there were very nice to me. I was asked at least four times which hip we were injecting. When I finally got to the OR and they asked again I said "the third one" just to get a rise out of the nurse staff. Everyone I met said that Dr. "C" was the best. One nurse said that Dr. Albert refers to her because Dr. C is a perfectionist. I learned this first hand. After I was prepped, Dr. C came in and said she was going to numb me up. "There will be a small stick and some stinging," she said. The first stick was mild and I waited for her to finish up with the numbing. I figured there would be several injections of a deeper and deeper nature like the dentist does to get your mouth real numb. The next thing I know, she said, "All done." I couldn't believe it. I was bracing myself for this invasive stab of the long needle and she had finished the whole procedure while I was thinking about the "prep" mode. I may or may not have proposed to the dear doctor immediately after the procedure. I'm pretty sure I did because the nurses gave me a hard time about being married. Anyway, I am very grateful that I was sent to Dr. C and I will make sure that Mary Jo Albert hears how good her referrral partner continues to be.

My wife, who had been going to the same group, made the change to Dr. Chachashvilli, and came home singing her praises. It was the best recommendation I could have. I have disk problems and arthritis in my spine. I've seen her four times now and Dr. "C' as she is affectionately referred to, practices medicine not only with great skill and competence, but with compassion and sensitivity. She takes care not only to explain her diagnosis and recommendations but she listens to patient concerns. If you are having Orthopedic problems, I have only this to say, do yourself a favor and make an appointment with Dr. Chachashvilli. You will not be disappointed. Joel W

My experience afforded a dispassionate, assembly line feel. During both visits, the doctor exuded an air of restrained impatience as if there were more important things he could be doing. He provided cavalier responses to questions that seemed important to me. He appeared to be eager to move on to the next patient, even after showing up 95 minutes late for my second appointment. Dr. Levengood recommended surgery immediately after reading the MRI report without actually seeing the MRI. If I'm going to have surgery done, I want it done by someone who has the time to get to know me and I him. Instead, I felt more like the next order at a Waffle House. Also, as seen in another review, he gave me a shot I didn't ask for, nor did he consult me. Thankfully, I didn't have an allergic reaction as the other reviewer described. The effect of the shot has been to temporarily reduce pain. While this may sound like a good thing, I've gone for a second opinion from a doctor who is far less eager to do surgery and now the shot makes it difficult to know if physical therapy is working. Consequently, making it difficult to decide whether or not to proceed with surgery. Now that I've received the EOB from my insurance, I can see that the shot was $97 of pure profit. Aside from the copay, it's the only thing on the bill that wasn't covered or discounted by insurance. As best I can tell, the $97 is not for what was in the shot. Just a fee for sticking the needle into my shoulder (Note: I can't verify this conclusion. I'm simply frustrated enough to make the assumption).
