We had two seats on the right going to Seward and two on the other right side for the return trip. The train slowed when wildlife (moose, bear, bald eagles etc) was spotted by someone. We saw a lot of shore line, waterfalls, tall mountains and so much more. We had a glass roof with a great view of all angles. We had a guide inform us of information and trivia over a PA system. One guide on the return trip did not speak with much volume. It was hard to hear what that one guide was saying. Our breakfast and lunch was included. We also had a number of friendly people to talk with on the excursion. The breakfast left me a bit hungry but the food was good. We had three full breakfast choices on the menu. Dinner was more filling and I was not hungry after having pot roast with mashed potatoes. Had a nice chocolate cake dessert. My wife had key lime pie. Our trip included two alcoholic beverages in each direction and unlimited soft drinks included Coke products. She drank wine and I had beer. This was my wife's first trip to Alaska. The weather was pleasant and not too cool. We plan to take a different train excustion on a future trip to Alaska. We will always go in June when the days have the most daylight.

They open the door, and everyone walks through. I recommend sticking with the gold star service. The view is better from higher above (it's the pic with the shaded glass on top, which seems to defeat the purpose), the seats have a tray and a foot rest, and are more comfortable/larger. No carry-on; you need to check all luggage. The food is pretty good and it includes two drinks. They didn't say anything about breakfast until we'd been on the train for 45 min. We had to sit with another couple which was odd but okay. Adventure class is down below. It's like riding a bus or a plane. There's a rack above for a carry-on. The window is large (it's' the pic without the shaded glass on top). It's kind of noisy. There are families, kids, crying babies, etc. The seats have no food trays or foot rests, and don't lean as far back. The cafe is lack luster, with pretty lousy food choices. You might not be willing to eat any of it. You can bring your own food but you cannot bring alcohol. The cocktail drinks are $14 each and it's not easy to get one in Adventure class because there isn't much service there. There are a few eating tables next to the cafe. There is a person narrating what you see the entire time but sometimes only the people in gold star service can see an animal or whatever is spotted. We saw moose, swans, caribou, etc. We did not see Denali mountain because of the clouds. The first 2-3 hrs going from Anchorage to Denali is only birch trees, quarries, and run down houses. I suggest bringing a book for that part, but don't worry the views get much better after that.

At this price I would expect a vote like the other hotels. 4. Breakfast was ok, like a Fairfield Inn. 5. A dresser or drawers to put clothes in would have been nice. 6. Shampoo and Body Wash but no Conditioner. 7. A microwave in the room would have been nice. 8. They have no gym. At this price I would expect at least a treadmill or two. Overall if they charged half what I paid I would have been happy, but at $457 I will pass and get a room for the same price or less overlooking the harbor.

Mistake... there was a tourist surge this weekend and they were full and they recommend we go to their sister hotel Gateway. I've been curious about this place since it was built recently. We got the last room. And let me tell you, what a sham. It charges the same fkng rates as Harbor 360 but is only a shadow of her. The rooms a clean and well kept and beds are comfy, but not worth the EXHORBITANT PRICES. For the same price I could be at Harbor with a pool, work out room, dock front view of the water and mountains, adequate parking, and nicer rooms with more amenities. Sigh. I wouldn't be so annoyed if the rooms were cheaper. Because the room is fine. But the fact that they charge the same price for something that offers significantly less services makes no sense. There isn't even enough parking here. There's no dresser for your clothing. The internet is slow as a slug. The water is blocks away. The microwave is on the 2nd floor (???? SO handy when im naked). Yeah, this set up is not worth 400 bucks during high season. Im glad im here during May and I got a local rate or I'd be IRATE.

Hourly shuttle service is available with drop offs/pick ups at Windsong Lodge, Alaska SeaLife Center and Small Boat Harbor. The property is huge; it's great that they offer very convenient and quick service (golf carts) to/from your building to the main building. Room was clean. The sink was located outside the bathroom, close to the beds, which was a little weird. Nevertheless, the bathroom was clean and their toiletries are of high quality. Though the room did not have air conditioning, the room remained cool and comfortable even if it was summer. There was no complimentary breakfast. The restaurant Resurrection Roadhouse in the property offers great, delicious food. If you're leaving Seward and will use Park Connection, their buses will pick you up here which was very convenient. Overall, I had a great experience here.

The single most surprising thing: they provide no housekeeping services whatsoever. No daily tidy, no fresh towels, nothing. Even budget hotels offer housekeeping, so to find it entirely absent at this price point was completely baffling. My "renovated" room was on the ground floor with what the listing might generously call a view - of the parking lot. People walked past my window and cars pulled in and out just feet from my door, so privacy and quiet were in short supply. Moreover, the room relied on 80's baseboard heating. For the money, I expected far more comfort and far more service than I got. Lastly, zero breakfast of any kind included. Nothing. I stayed at the Hotel 360 on the harbor for the same price and it was GORGEOUS, with all the amenities (great breakfast, housekeeping, super friendly staff, an unbelievable view, actually renovated rooms, etc.). It is a 2 story train car with fine dining located on the first floor. The ceiling, is a glass dome ceiling. YOU SEE EVERYTHING! Dinner was fabulous. Do not mistake it for train food. This was a culinary experience. My husband and I had a pasta w/ reindeer sausage, and my brother had the best prime rib he ever had in his life. This upset my mother quite a lot, since she used to hold that title. Wilderness Express is not available to everyone. It is a Royal Caribbean & Celebrity Cruise Line exclusive thing. So if you want to experience it, it must be part of your overall cruise tour package. Just another thing to consider when choosing which cruise line to go with for your Alaska vacation.

Very comfortable, plenty of room. The meals were nice, if you sit at the back of the car you get to go down and eat first. The bar tender was spot on. The tour guide that comes with the car pointed out some very interesting things along the way. There was a point, when dealing with the frost heaving, that the car moved pretty good, once we got past that is settled down for a very nice ride. The scenery was awesome!!!!!! To be able to ride through the country, wilderness and see all Alaska has to offer was a real treat. We even passed the flag stop train and were given the low down on how it operates and on some of the residents that use the flag stop train. To me the train part of the tour was the best part. If you do a cruise you REALLY need to make this a part of your trip
