I was under the impression that when we disembark in Seward I'd be able to grab a ruse to anchorage. In panic I called and emailed 3 different taxis. GLAD TO BE ALIVE TO WRITE THIS REVIEW! This was an extremely terrifying ride on Saturday Aug 3 for me and my family. We were transporting from Seward to Whittier to board Princess cruises. Kim picked us up late in Seward, she was to be there at 11 am and it was 11:20 when I phoned and left a message with Renee, and then Kim appeared. The van was very dirty, I mean it was not good. From there we went and she got gas and her rockstar and 5 hour energy drinks. We thought at first she was just a bad driver, so we are like ok. Swerving a little here and there off the side of road several times. Hitting the rumble strips. But then she swerved onto oncoming traffic, the van crossed the center line of the 4 lane road going down a mountain and half the van was in the lane of oncoming cars, a big truck to be more precise. When we heard the rumble strips we all screamed and she woke up cause she had fallen asleep. She had DOZED off several times. We asked her if she was ok to pull over, no I am fine I am just a little nauseous. She continued to almost rear end several vehicles and was constantly scratching her legs and pinching herself to keep herself awake. We asked to get a picture when we got in the vehicle of the Kenai Fjords National Park sign, well she passed that up. So she stopped at another sign, so thank god, really thank god, because I honestly thought we were going to DIE this Saturday in this horrendous vehicle with this woman. We pulled over to get a picture. I did ask strangers for a ride because I was terrified to get back in this vehicle. At that point I refused to get back in that vehicle with her. She told us if we got back in she would give us back a $100, I told her no way. My husband drove us the rest of the way. I really felt she was going to kill us or severely injure us. That van could not have withstood a crash at 70 MPH. It was absolutely awful. I wish I wouldn't have paid her at the beginning because I wouldn't have paid her. I can't believe the boss lets her drive clients. I am a travel agent so I will make sure to leave my reviews. I am thanking god my family is here today. It was to say the least a traumatic event. I Have taken hundreds if not thousands of taxis I have never had this life threatening experience before! Please Please take the coach bus from Seward to Whittier, do not use this company! read more

Worst service. Lady who picked up the phone refused to listen to where we were for the pick-up location insisting she "knew her way around" and - surprise! - couldn't find us. Gave up without letting us know, subsequently refused to answer any of our calls properly. Hung up on us multiple times Definitely would NEVER recommend this service at all. read more

Our family of 9 rode with Renee from anchorage to Seward. She picked us up from our rental home in anchorage right on time and gave us a great ride to Seward. She stopped at many breathtaking spots along the way and also gave us a short tour of Seward before dropping us at our rental house. What a great experience with Renee and PJS Taxi and Tour in Alaska! Great communication from the beginning to the end. We decided to stay in Seward, AK the night before our cruise and followed the advice of those on TripAdvisor to book a ride with PJS taxi. It was way better than taking a 2 hour bus ride/shuttle from the airport to Seward! We got off the plane and she was there waiting for us with even a cooler of water/drinks (she even asked for our flight info so she could track our flight!). We asked if we could pass by Walmart since we had forgotten a few things and she was so accommodating-even showing us well-priced souvenirs to buy while we were there. The drive to Seward was BEAUTIFUL and so personalized. She told us a bit of history, pointed out 3 moose, 2 bald eagles, and multiple eagle nests-and that was all within the first 30 minutes of our drive! She gave us a tour of Seward and stopped along the way to take photos for us. We highly recommend Renee and PJS taxi and tours over any of the shuttles/bus rides to Seward. It's always nice to support local business and we look forward to using her services again next time we're back in Alaska! read more

We took Alaska railway from anchorage to Seward. Our next stop was Whittier - our cruise departing port. But there is no other transportation except taxi and bus. For six of us, it costs the same for a bus that leaves only in the morning - once a day. My online research led me to pjs taxi. Had a few email exchanges with Renee before the trip, she replied promptly each time. We met Renee at 3pm in downtown Seward. She washed the minivan before picking us up. She provided more than the taxi service I am used to: pickup and drop off. Instead, she became our guide, stopping at a salmon Hatchery, a glacier and offered to stop whenever we want to take a picture. We paid $10/person for a shuttle to the Exit Glacier from downtown Seward the day before. Could have saved the $60 with Renee. I should have asked more Renee more questions before the trip. read more

We communicated by email with Renee of Pjs Taxi several months before our Alaska trip. We needed a ride from Seward to Whittier for 4 adults and 2 children + 8 bags. The communication was clear and professional. On the day of the ride, we wanted to leave Seward a few hours before our scheduled time. Renee was able to accommodate our request. Our party fit safely and comfortably in her taxi and so did the bags. Renee is very knowledgeable about the local area. During our ride from Seward to Whittier, she stopped at the right places to allow us to experience a little of Alaska that only someone who knows the terrain can know about. While I won't divulge the details of the places she stopped at (your ride could vary considerably because of seasonal variations), needless to say that our Alaska trip was much more memorable due to this one taxi ride. This is the taxi to go with. I called Renee two weeks ahead of my backpacking trip, needing a pickup from a remote wilderness trailhead 1.5 hours outside of Seward -- eight miles up a dirt road, way outside of cell coverage. When I called around to other cab companies to try to set this up, one said, "Call Renee -- she knows the Kenai like the back of her hand."
