"I've done thousands of them" is what I bought into; for thousands of nonrefundable dollars per eye. Wrong lenses were put in after a 5 plus hour wait on a hospital operating table. How does this happen? The Doctors ability to perform this operation and to identify the wrong lenses immediately were his responsibility. The circumstances were poor at best and the results a disaster. The follow up visit was equally poor. He was less than professional. He told me the office was very busy with multiple competing demands, and a personal family loss distracted him during my consultation. So, he overlooked the fact that I now have to wear glasses fulltime for the rest of my life. At the cost of thousands of dollars.

While purchasing $800 glasses from an optometrist once and getting partial coverage from insurance is a necessary thing, it is not always a budget friendly option. Fortunately there are online options available to order with a prescription. I know that these offices are reluctant to share prescriptions due to the increasing use of these online options. But they are in fact OUR prescriptions. When my daughter called for the PD #, NOT an expired RX, they would only offer it for $25. That seems absurd since it is her medical history. And quite frankly none of their business what she will do with her OWN records. But to assert that it would be a liability for them to give that number to her is asinine. Their conversation escalated to unreasonable proportions because of the staff's incredibly condescending responses. We will not be doing business there again. Unfortunately they couldn't see the value of doing this courtesy.

Everyone I've interacted with was very friendly. I was referred here by my eye doctor because there was a concern that I had holes in my retina. Unfortunately, after my first visit to NJ Retina it was confirmed that I do indeed have holes in my retina. Dr. Levenson took great care of me and took the time to answer any questions I had. On my second visit he sealed up the holes in my left eye by shooting a laser at them. I'm due to go back in a week to have my right eye done. She was very thorough, professional, encouraging, reassuring, pleasant and gave me good advice. I followed her advice for a couple of months and in time, my eye healed. She did not suggest anything unnecessary, like, Dr. Hahn, but provided the medical evaluation and follow-up that was needed. I think she's great! Thinking the cataract surgery would be the first step in the process. The next day my vision was 20/20 and no need for the membrane surgery. Also did my other eye, 20/15 the next day. I went in to get my eyes checked to get new glasses and after the refraction exam, he gave me a…read morecomputerized test that analyzed my eyes without asking me if I wanted the test. He then said that my optic nerve looked strange using this machine, and asked me to return the next week so that he could further analyze my optic nerve using some newfangled equipment, which was on loan to another doctor at the moment. So, I returned and the technician (his son-in-law), conducted the computerized test. Ross then said that my optic nerve still looked swollen and advised me to return in a few months because it was likely that the swelling was caused by some medications that I was taking. So, I asked him to give me a printout of what he saw in his computerized machine and write down what he thought the problem was - he wrote "papillodema" with 3 question marks at the end. Papillodema as I discovered on the internet, is swelling in the brain, indicating a very serious illness (MS or a brain tumor)!!! I then brought this to a real MD who asked me if my pupils had been dilated (which they hadn't), so he did so. The dialation indicated that my optic nerve was healthy and pink and not swollen. I showed him the printout that I received from Dr. Ross and he just said,"what am I supposed to do with this?" So, be very wary of this so-called Doctor. He evidently bought some very expensive machinery which he is trying to pay-off at the expense of unnecessarily alarming his patients. Furthermore, he should have just dialated my pupils himself, instead of scaring me.
