The Dr is nice but I think getting old and the wait is unbelievably. The last time we came in it was a three hour wait to even be seen by the nurse. This time we scheduled for right after lunch and were seen by the nurse right away, but took over 2 hours to get the injection and there was confusion about what eye when we have only been doing the right eye for 9 months and have this conversation every time with the same ending. Overall don't recommend especially if there is anything else you need to do that day. read more

TLDR: Avoid going here if you can help it. Zero Stars was not an option. My girlfriend has been in this office 3 times and has seen the doctor for maybe ten minutes on the first visit. She has intense eye pain that was initially diagnosed as dry eye and then macular degeneration. Both of which should not be waking her up at night almost screaming in pain. We have tried to get an appointment with the doctor numerous times. On the plus side, some of the staff are nice, but honestly, you get the feeling that they don't want to work there. In a word AWESOME. I went to a different clinic for about a year and they did a good workman like job but these people are above and beyond all expectations. They are quick but thorough. The biggest point is that they take the pain and fear out of the process of taking an injection to the eyeball and I didn't think that was possible. With the other place I was not able to see at all the day of treatment. I had my first injection an hour ago and am using my phone, watching TV and no pain, just a slight itch. Appointment at Retina Laser Eye Center. At an eye appointment for my wife after she got an injury yesterday. I called and got an appointment for 930am and showed up at 915am to fill out paperwork. The receptionist seem very nice. She told me that we were next to be seen. It is 1030am now and have watched multiple people go ahead of us. They seem to be busy so I won't knock them that much for having to wait an hour and 15 minutes to be seen. We are being seen by Dr. Lee. His assistant Shan I believe his name is was very professional and efficient with his job responsibilities. We spent 8 minutes with them the was told to sit in the hall until our next person to see. We sat there for 4 minutes. 1042am we got into the next room to wait for Dr. Lee I believe. Dr Lee came into the room at 1056am. Dr. Lee's dr bedside manners so to speak are very good. He listened to my wife and is addressing the complaint of how bad it hurts. They gave her some numbing eye drops to relieve the extreme pain she is in. The reason for this review is because I looked up and researched this dr office. I saw some complaints about this office so I wanted to give a time based review. My review is in favor of the people we dealt with at the office. I am pretty satisfied with the visit. The Long wait I will not worry about because I called and got the dr appointment the day of the visit. Dr Lee seemed very knowledgeable about what he does and is very professional. I give the Retina and Laser Center a "0". I am so angry and in pain. I'm almost blind in my left eye due to a bleeding vessel and according to my opthomologist, it needs immediate treatment. However this center refused to mark my insurance form as "priority urgent." I'm now heading to Seattle to get the needed treatment. RUN from this office. The office staff-- especially Stephanie, is terse and unprofessional. read more

I give Retina Laser Eye center a "0". My mom had to have eye surgery there. The surgery was started late, which meant she went 10 hours with no food or drink. The next morning she had a level of 10+ pain & the staff did not consider it an emergency. The pressure in her eye was too much. We had to wait hours every time we dealt with them. They always gave unacceptable excuse. When I called to say we would not wait hours at follow up appt, they hung up & later called back to say I would not be allowed to accompany my 85 year old mom into the building. The next follow up appt found a detached retina, which he was unable to fix (think the lord for small favors) because he didn't have the staff. We had to make an emergency run to Seattle to take care of it. This center runs the patients thru like cattle. If you have eye issues, go to Seattle, not here. While Dr Sung seems to be OK as a physician, his office is a train wreck. Two hour wait times are common. They bring you in, check your eyes very quickly and then you sit on some hard chairs in a narrow hallway for what seems like an eternity. Who ever is running this office is just plain awful. Scheduling dilation should be much closer to how the time you actually see the doctor does not seem like a hard thing to do. I have seen a number of patients leave after waiting much too long. Part of the problem is lack of retina specialists in the Tri Cities, more money to be made performing cataract and lasik, but still the Tri-Cities deserves better. Portland or Sponkane seems like a better option. read more

If I could give no stars I would. My son was referred here from the emergency dept for a scratch across his eye. I called first thing Monday to get him in, the receptionist got all my info and said she would check with the doctor to see if he would see my son due to him being so young. I waited all day and called back late afternoon, she said oh yeah let me go ask the doctor right now I will call you back in 10 minutes. So yet again I wait and wait. Never heard back. The following afternoon I get a call from his pediatricians office saying dr sungs office sent a fax to them saying they won't see him bc of his age. Never once have I still ever heard this. Would never recommend this place to anybody. Even if the doctor is decent dealing with the office staff was a nightmare read more

Zero stars!! Dr. Sung never caught my detached retina until it was too late. I was being seen regularly by him for my other eye issues and a previously detached Retina. He then tried to do an emergency surgery on me when his equipment broke down, after I was sedated. I had to go to Spokane to have my eye fixed and lost work wages. He has terrible bedside manners and he is a jerk!! Never go to him!! Also, his office treats patients like cattle being herded and it seems like they dilate everyone if they need it or not. read more

Went in because of High Pressure in my eyes. Sat in waiting room for 45 minutes with many more patients while the staff chatted and ate donuts. They then took me back to dilate my eyes and had a very quick exam. Then came back later for a periphery test. Used dollar store eye patch which was dug out of a drawer. Tech was wearing knit gloves with fingers cut off, with no way of washing hands. Eye patch kept slipping and when asked about it she said that is all they had. Didn't get a good reading, had to do again and still wanted me to come back in. Will never go back into this office. Very unprofessional. Did not see Dr. Sung as my PCP wanted me to, saw one of the others in the office, but this is his office and he should know what is going on. read more

Hands down the worst experience I've ever had with medical "professionals". For starters, the receptionist handling my insurance was extremely rude after she misunderstood some information for my insurance. When I was walking back up to the desk she very loudly told her coworker she "should have f***ing stayed home that day". Which was apparently true after I saw her treating an elderly patient the same way. I was scheduled for another test that I would have to come back for later that day. After waiting in the waiting room for almost an hour they told me that the tech had already gone home, and would reschedule me for another month out. In the mean time I have no idea what's going on with my eyes. I called back 4 times within three weeks to ask for the results to the test I had already taken and was told each time someone would call me back. Of course, no one ever called me back. Don't go here if you can avoid it. read more
