Beware, dysfunctional business. I had an extremely frustrating 100-day experience at Columbia Point Eye Care in Kennewick. After my October exam, I ordered three pairs of glasses. When they finally arrived nearly a month later, my distance vision was blurry. I was told to "adjust" to them, but they were never correct. At a follow-up, I was informed I'd need another copay for an issue already addressed. A second doctor later confirmed the original lenses were wrong. Then came six more weeks of no communication, I had to repeatedly call just to get answers. After 98 days, I finally received revised glasses, and two days later a screw fell out of the frame. Poor communication, incorrect lenses, billing confusion, long delays, and defective frames made this one of the most stressful medical service experiences I've had. I cannot recommend them. read more

Columbia Point Eyecare - Three pair of glasses that after 100 days still did not let me see as well as when I first made an appointment - Optometrists Near Me - Richland, Washington

My exam was fine and all went well with the evaluation. What fell apart was the frames and Lense sales. After my exam their computer systems were down so we couldn't review insurance and frame/lenses. I had to make another appointment to discuss the frames and lenses. So more of my time to make their sales. Made the appointment a couple more weeks for 8:45am. I checked in at 8:40, waited 30 minutes and NO ONE came to help me. I take time out of my day to make the appointment and i don't get helped. They send me a text the day before saying if I don't keep the appointment I could be charged a $75 no show fee. Well, where is my $75 for your no show?? I'll be finding a new eye care team for my needs. read more

I'm a pretty new patient. I have had two exams, got 2 prescriptions for contacts, and purchased my first pair of glasses. It was rather expensive, which wasn't totally the fault of the clinic as much as my limited insurance. So far, everyone has been really pleasant. Meg from the call center is a dream, so sweet and helpful. But I have to say Chris in optical will probably be why I come back. He is so friendly. Honest. Personable. And really made my day. If your manager reads this, you need a raise, my guy. read more

My frames fell apart yesterday. I took them in since they were still under warranty but they told me they were not and would have to purchase new frames. Warranty was suppose to be good for 2 years. I purchased the frames in October 2022 and was told they were 3 years old. Apparently, the person in charge has no clue how to do simple math. The frames are still under warranty until October 2024. I won't be going back to this place.. ever. They also moved without informing patients. They are no longer on Columbia Point Drive. They are located on Dupertail close to Dairy Queen. read more

Dr Randall was very through, and went beyond what i expected on the exams. I am very happy with how he took care of me and I will make sure to keep him as my doctor. Then my associate Chris was absolutely amazing. His customer service is above and beyond, making you feel like more then just a customer. I use to elsewhere for glasses and exam, but now I would never go anywhere else. Your not just a patient, they make you feel like you matter. Chris does that, and you walk away feeling happy an important...he is absolutely my go to man from now on. Staff was friendly and professional--but I don't think I will be coming back. I had my eye wellness exams done here, along with my lipiflow procedure and other eye related appointments. However, when it came to picking out glasses frames, I found their selection to be limited, especially in the style I was after. Consequently, I purchased two pairs of glasses from Warby Parker, a popular online retailer of prescription glasses and sunglasses. Once I received my prescription glasses in the mail, I brought them to Columbia Point Vision Clinic to have them fitted, and the staff was happy to help with that. A few months later, I came back to the clinic for another appointment and while waiting to be called into the exam room, I asked the staff to help readjust my glasses again as they felt like they needed to be refitted. The staff gladly agreed to do it ONE LAST time, stating "just so you know, we are moving in the direction of not adjusting frames bought from online companies, but today we are going to make one last exception." Well, I am certain I will be needing another adjustment sometime in the near future from everyday use of my frames, and I still plan on purchasing new glasses online in the next few years. If Columbia Point Vision Clinic cannot provide this simple service to loyal clients, then I am not sure I want to continue giving them my business. read more

I was a patient there in Sept and the best advice I can give is to steer clear of this place. I have limited insurance that covers an eye exam & a pair of glasses per year. My total bill (after a $28.00 "discount") for the exam & one pair of single vision sunglasses was $1,007.35. The real zinger came when the tech told me I had a "shadow" on my retinal scan she couldn't explain and if I wanted to know what it was, doctor would have to read it & I would have to fork over another $39 out of pocket or they wouldn't tell me what it was. Are you kidding me? Makes me wonder how many patients have these unexplained "shadows" that require extra money to read. Staff wasn't very personable either but if you go there, hang on to your purse or wallet-they're after it. Even after insurance, I was out of pocket nearly $235.00. Won't be going back. read more

Was a patient for almost a full year. Had two eye exams, purchased contacts twice and one new pair of glasses. The office staff is in a constant state of confusion. Every encounter (office visit, phone call, etc.) was met with one or more errors - billed wrong insurance, contact lens Rx was wrong on lenses that I picked up, phone calls not returned, quoted costs were different than what I was required to pay, I had to repeat and explain details of my insurance coverage multiple times and still was met with confused looks as if I was their first patient with double coverage. Thinking the first errors and confusion were a one-off fluke, I continued doing business, sure that it would get better. Unfortunately, it did not. They were friendly enough, and apologized for their errors, but I could see no path forward where their performance would improve. On Wednesday I had a great experience at the clinic, from the moment I walked in until the moment I walked out. I saw Dr Barney and had a professional and polite and friendly examination. The pre-check staff to the fitting of the glasses staff and including paying the bill staff were awesome. They all were polite, helpful and able to answer all my questions. If you are looking for a vision provider or ready to change vision provider, this is where I highly recommend you go. I have no doubt you will be as pleased as I was. read more

They were great to get me in on a spur of a moment for an emergency even though I wasn't a patient. Very friendly and professional.

So far I'm not impressed. It's been over three weeks since I had my eye exam. Im still waiting on my glasses. I called the clinic 2 days ago and was told by the optician she would call and find out about the status of my glasses and call me the following day. This return call never happened. I spent more at this vision center than I have ever spent going to an eye clinic, including glasses and never had to wait this long. Hopefully the rest of my experience will be better. read more

I love this optometrist office! The doctors are extremely thourogh doing full diagnosis on your eye health, try them for next eye check up - they did at least twice as many tests as the last place I went to evaluate my eyes and give me an updated presecription. I had to get a unique type of glasses as well as my regular auto robot daily glasses and prescription sunglasses - I ordered prescription safety and mask glasses - this place has a large selection of everything I needed and the people are always super nice. I was there yesterday and I saw how they treated a young boy getting glasses and it sealed it for me, I will never go anywhere else, true goodness can't be faked, these people care about your eye health. read more

During my trip up here, my glasses broke. Not what I needed right now, but Columbia Point Vision Clinic was there for me. I walked in to see if they could repair the frame or if I needed to order a new one. The person at the front said they could probably fix it, but their optician was busy and wouldn't be able to look at it until the afternoon. I said that was fine and asked if she could estimate the repair cost. It was $0! Yes, no charge and I'm not even a patient. Within a few hours I got a call that my glasses were fixed and ready for pick up. I asked again when I got there if there was a charge and they said no and let them know if I have any other problems with it. Wow! They are super at customer service and the office is really nice with lots of frames to choose from. Highly recommend to check them out when you need your vision fixed. We were told by an employee that we could use my husbands work voucher and bill our insurance for my husbands safety glasses. OVER a year later we get a bill saying we are late paying when we never saw a bill in the first place. When we call to see whats going on we get told the lady who said we could use the voucher and bill insurace no longer works there. We are then informed we CANT use the voucher and bill insurance.. so we will have to pay $300 and sorry for our luck. They charge $200 just for an eye exam. Will never go to this joke of a vision clinic ever again!! read more
