The lady behind the counter was absolutely Rude to everyone around even her employees. This place is a mess, and if you're a big guy, good luck making your way around the store. Also don't go without CASH cause they don't accept a card. Apparently my $3 tool wasn't worth her time. Never going back here again to this trash business. read more

What a useful store! They sell used hardware, hand tools, power tools, etc. We came in to buy some small bits for taking apart a computer. It cost about $4 total and the guy who runs (owns?) the shop was really nice and helpful. He came out from behind the register to show us other places where they keep what we were looking for. It seemed like everyone in the store knew each other and him so that was cool. I also like that the door handle outside the shop is a big ax. Nice touch. I would just say he should go through his used assortment of things and get rid of the junk. He had so many duplicates of screwdrivers that it was a little much. And some of it was quite junky. read more

As a single mom and homeowner, this store is a godsend! Not only is the staff helpful, but I'm always able to find exactly what I need at a price that doesn't make me cringe. After several attempts to sell my flooring tools on Facebook I decided to try selling them at Retool. I made two trips over a period of thee days and both times I brought in a truck full of power tools and hand tools. In both transactions I was assisted by Don. Don was very responsive and helpful. He walked out to my vehicle both times and helped me carry in all of my items. When we got back into the store he wasted no time evaluating and pricing my items. In both instances there was no need for a lot of negotiate because Don was very fair in his initial offers. I will do more business (buying/selling) in the future at this store and will recommend it to all of my friends. read more

This is my first time writing a review for yelp. If you're looking to buy something at this store, the people are quite friendly. However If they see you are bringing in something to sell, you might literally get ignored. (Like I did) If you're thinking of trying to sell this place tools, you should definitely read on. I've heard horror stories from other people that have brought tools in to sell, mostly women who don't know much about tools. Both instances these friends were talked down to and made to feel like they were imposing for bothering the guy behind the counter with their "worthless" tools. I'm not disputing the worth of their tools, that's completely within the prerogative of the store to not buy. There is however a way to do it with common courtesy, Especially when their low budget commercials that run on TV implore people to bring in their used tools to sell. My personal experience shook out like this: I brought in a new in box power tool, The guy behind the counter was dealing with a paying customer, being super friendly and polite, they leave. I'm right behind the counter area. He doesn't even acknowledge me! Another guy hanging out in the shop (employee or friend?) tells the gentleman behind the counter he has another customer. Which he knows.... as I'm standing right there. So I decide to speak first, (knowing that this is some amateur hour pawn shop tactic to get the upper hand) I ask if he would be interested in this drill? He sighs... "Probably not" I chuckle because I'm sure this is where he expects most of the prospective tool sellers to grovel and ask "why not?" (He didn't even ask to see it, he just saw the outside of the box, had no clue what the condition was) I start to walk away from the counter and tell him he should think about treating people a little bit better. e.g. at least acknowledge a customer bringing in something to sell with common courtesy? He is definitely surprised I didn't try to sell my tool better, he says "I'll definitely buy it, how much were you looking up get?" I turn around and tell him not to bother. My point of writing this is to serve as a heads up to people who choose to try and do business there. In my case I live right down the road and wasn't in need of money, just cleaning out some storage spaces and thought I'd check here before putting in on EBay. I have a sense that a good portion of the people go in there to sell are in desperation mode. I find this most unfortunate because the last thing you need is someone belittling you if you are already down on your luck. To re iterate, I'm not even addressing the low ball prices other reviewers have mentioned. That's 100% their choice, however good manners, common courtesy, and treating each individual with respect are free. read more

First of all, love love loveee this place. I'll never buy an expensive tool again. They have everything from a ruler to a powerwasher. And if you're looking for something in particular you can always call and they'll tell you if they have it. I discovered this shop a couple of years ago, when they saved me from going to a mall last minute to get a Father's Day gift. Got him a nice big toolbox and we still have it! My hubby and I have been back a number of times, specifically to buy but we are going in soon to get rid of some tools as well. Totally recommend this place for all your tool needs. read more
