Bought a refrigerator freezer combo unit from Lowe's. When it arrived, it didn't work. Would not cool down. I called and got a refund as they didn't have another unit. They charged me $40 for delivery and additional $30 for pickup of the old unit. So I was inconvenienced of not having a refrigerator that worked but was noisy. Of course no refund on the delivery of a refrigerator that they sell that doesnt work. I found one for around the same price at Home Depot. They do not charge for delivery or pick up old unit. When I talked to customer service at Lowe's about the charges for a piece of junk refrigerator they sold me and to see if I could get a refund on the delivery and pick up, it was oh well too bad type of response. Buy your appliances at Home Depot. They don't charge extra for pick up and delivery plus a better customer service department. read more

Bought a John Deere, tried returning within the 30 days that was clearly stated on a sign in store and customer service employee said we only had 48 hrs to do the return. Happened to walk into Lowe's a few weeks later and saw the sign that said 30 days, manager won't do the return. Because it is out of the time frame. Mistake from your employee NOT MINE. Bev at Lowe's in Machesney Park is so professional, she reminds me of my daughter's mother-in-law. That is a tremendous compliment. She made sure I had everything I needed to replace my front door, add a screen door and the lock and door knob. Joe, the contractor, was so professional and prompt. He came to measure and then came to install the door during an August heatwave. The job was completed, the area was cleaned up and I plan on replacing another door. I honestly can not praise them enough. I tried other home improvement stores, I tried a local company, and the only one who came through was Lowe's. well I've been waiting for a washer for 3 weeks now. I've had a new one in my kitchen for a week. and it's completely destroyed. nobody checked it when they delivered it. and I had to find out when they went to install it 2 days later that it was completely destroyed and they couldn't take it back either apparently cus they "didn't work in the store". and kept giving excuses as to why they "can't do their job" oh and instead of Turing my water off they just put it in a drain to drip until my "new washer" comes which was supposed to be today as well. Th installation was flawless. Here is my problem with Lowes. I was told i had to uninstall my old dishwasher or pay $50.00 for them to do it. So i spent the time and got the tools and uninstalled everything which was a pain cause everything was corroded and took about an hour to finally get everything out. Once the installer came he told me it was his job to uninstall and that i should of not done that. It was against there terms. I contacted this lowes and all i got was sorry here is a 20.00 gift card. No i should get back half the installation but they refused. I went to the store to purchase a washer and dryer. I bought the top of the line, paid cash and was assured that both would be delivered on Saturday and we would receive a phone call on Friday night with the details. When we did not receive a phone call on Friday night my husband called on Saturday morning to find out the delivery time. We were told the washing machine could not be delivered until Tuesday but the dryer could be delivered on Sunday. Ordered a stove to be delivered for my disabled parents. The delivery company showed up and picked up the old stove. Surprise , they didn't have the new one on the truck . I went to the machesney park IL location and tried to receive money back to purchase a stove from Menards. I had three people, two who were management tell me I couldn't get a refund. I asked to speak to their supervisor, enter the cashier manager. I would like a refund, I said to him. He said not possible. I asked if there was a manager to speak to above him. This guy lost his mind, he told me to leave his store. I again asked for a supervisor, he said absolutely not. He then said get out of my fucking store. I turned and started to leave only to be cut off in the vestibule by the Cashier manager ( Big bald white guy ) He confronts me , I tell him I'm leaving . He than says it's not fast enough. He threatens me and I turn and walk away briskly thinking this crazy man is going to attack me. All of his employees behind him were telling him to leave me alone, they appeared very nervous about his actions. I hope Lowes does a better job of screening managers in the future. If I could I would give them no star but that's not an option. My boyfriend and I just recently purchased a fence and installation from Lowes on Alpine. We are no happy at all 1) The installer was pushy 2) The fence was not placed in the correct place 3) The installer cut a power line and now we can't open our garage 4) The installer and Lowes Customer Care told us that it was not their fault and they are not paying for it. When I asked how it was not their fault they never gave me an answer. 5) We were suppose to get a rebate gift card in the mail for spending over a certain amount and just received a letter in the mail that we will not be receiving the rebate. Unfortunately I purchased a household of appliances all from Lowe's. Almost all LG. My LG fridge has repaired 2 times in 30 days. Everything is melting again. Less than 3 years old. The compressor was replaced during the first repair, that took weeks as Lowe's and the warranty company were arguing over who should pay for it. I'm about to chuck this price of garbage and go buy a no frills fridge! I've been living out of a mini fridge and cooler for over a month! This is the worst fridge I've ever owned. I completely regret buying all LG appliances and paying extra for a warranty that just guarantees your repairs will take forever. Never again. Every time I think it's safe to use this POS again, my food gets ruined and water is all over the floor bc it keeps losing temperature. I'm shocked to read how many other people are waiting so long and having up to 7 repairs done. The quality in your products certainly does not match the price. read more

So tonight I stopped at Lowe's to purchase a few smart light bulbs for my mother-in-laws house. This would allow my wife and I to turn off the lights in her basement late at night, when we know she has difficulty with stairs and has simply forgotten to turn them off. The bulbs were price matched at Best Buy for $14.99, and listed at Lowe's for $24.98. The customer service counter said they agreed to price match Best Buy for a $9.99 savings. When I got to the register the cashier was flabbergasted at the savings and called a supervisor. The supervisor said Lowe's will never match a sale price at any other store. Now I know I am nobody to Lowe's, but it is safe to say my long time favorite in Lowe's will never get another piece of my construction business from me or any of my guys again. Best service ever! Needed an unusual wrench for a reverse osmosis water filtration set up. Two staff members helped search all over the store until we found what I wanted. Arrived back home and the unusual tool was completely worthless. (If I had read the online reviews first, would have known that.) Anyway returned the suboptimal tool and asked the staff for help. An older lady made the suggestion to get an oil filter loop wrench, stainless -- and then use strips of the grippy material put under rugs to keep them from slipping between the loop and the RO canister. Sounded overly improvised, but there was no other option. So, decided to at least try this version. It worked and worked really well! Worked for both filter canisters and the membrane cartridge. Sight unseen, this lady made an excellent suggestion. Thank you. Everyone in the store was patient. No one gave up. They all kept working the problem until a solution was found. Wonderful! We have had multiple issues with this store from asking for help and getting the wrong item, to them not delivering appliances until days after they said they would, to not wanting to return unused items within days of purchase with my receipt and original card, and to them giving me a hard time about the 10% military discount. The customer service people and managers are rude and don't have a clue about what they are doing. read more

We shop at this store a couple times a year. We've had an instance or two of rude employees but most of the time they are friendly. It can be difficult to find someone to answer questions. One of the times we've had a bad experience was trying to find someone to help us and when we finally did find someone, the gentleman was very rude, acted like we were bugging him, and continued to walk away while talking to his coworker. I placed an on-line order on July 3. Today is July 20. I have sent 6 e-mails, called customer service 3 times and drove 60 miles to Rockford for my order which they told me was accidentally shipped there, but it was not! Finally today customer service told me it is back ordered until the middle of August. This was a product I needed on time. I understand back orders but why did no one tell me? I love Lowes, I have spent many thousands of dollars in this Lowes, Carpets, Riding Mower, Fridge, Stove, various other things over the years. I always find the staff to be very helpful and friendly. I got a bad riding mower and they came out, picked up the bad one and dropped off another one no problem. I have had Lowes install carpeting many times in the past and their installation people are always really nice, friendly, quick and do good work. I had them install an over the range microwave and they pulled it out of the box and then noticed a small dent in the back that nobody would see but they insisted on returning it themselves and getting me a new one. "These people are miserable, hate their jobs, and are never by their aisles. Bought 2 door knobs, was told they'd work and they didnt. Was paying a carpenter by the hour, took home to him and they didnt work. Took back to store and was told another 2 would work. Definately. Got home and they worked, but smaller than the original hole for the door, so it looks real crappy. Now have to get a "scar plate" which of course they only have in brass and my door knobs are pewter. Paid carpenter $80 and I have to start all over again. grrrrr. read more
