I'd recommend Retroetcetera to anyone. My aunt passed away in April and left behind a property stuffed to the gills with stuff--a 3,000 sq ft house, a two-car garage, and a separate shed. This was a challenging property, 200 yards up a dirt road off the highway, secluded, with spotty access to trash pickup. They went out of their way to publicize the event and make it obvious how to get there from the highway, even hiring a roadside sign spinner for the day of the sale. They quickly determined that the best way to sell the most stuff for the most money was to focus on arranging individual sales before the day of the estate sale, and in some cases to bring items to their other estate sales around Palm Springs. My aunt had several collections that could not be sold in an estate sale, and Retroetcetera arranged for private sale to licensed dealers in those cases, which lifted a massive burden from me. At the same time, I had some items of high value that my aunt willed to be destroyed rather than sold, and they never pressured me to include these items in the sale even though it would have made them more money. They also handled several contingencies without any issue. They found a ton of extra family items and hauled them to a storage unit for me, without me having to lift a finger. At the end of the sale when only certifiable junk was left over, they got saddled with extra trips to the dump and it was easy to arrange for them to handle it at a very reasonable cost. Eric and Ted were easy to get ahold of throughout the process, extremely transparent and informative, and thoughtful at every pass. Jesús, Rey, and all their other staff were friendly and obviously worked hard throughout the process. When everything was said and done, I received payment within a couple business days, alongside a thorough itemization of every item that was sold and its price. Retro Etcetera was an answer to my family's prayer. Unfortunately, my brother passed away several months ago in CA. We, his brother & sisters, all live in Illinois. Since he didn't have a family of his own, we were responsible for the distribution of his estate before selling his home. At first, it seemed like an overwhelming task. My friend invited me to tag along to an estate sale she was going to this morning in Palm desert and I accepted . What a great experience. , well placed enthusiastic sign holder that guided us straight in and plenty of street parking . There was a lot of people moving in and around the premise yet it was so well Organized, well priced and super structured. Holding boxes at the front for your items so you don't have to cart it around in your arms is a nice touch . Nobody ever wants to think of how they will handle the estate of a loved one who passes away but if you find yourself in that situation look no further than retro .
