This is a small nostalgic museum with neat little cafe. They have a few parking spots out front, but it can get a little tight. We decided to get a quick bite to eat in the cafe before exploring the museum. It is an 80s themed cafe with a full bar with seating, booths and tables. There is also a stage that has Alvin and the chipmunk statues on it. We got some of their pretzel bites and nachos. We also got some of their fun themed adult beverages to wash our apps down. The bartender/waited was awesome. He was very friendly and helpful. He had tons of personality. We then went over to the museum. I think the food in the restaurant and admission was a bit over priced, but it is Branson. The first floor of the museum has classic arcade games that are set to free play, so you can play them as much as you like without having to put in a quarter. There are also some photo ops with Simpsons, E.T., Maverick (Top Gun), Darth Vader, Indiana Jones, and the Terminator statues available. You will find the cashier, a couple of escape rooms and a gift shop (which did not have much) on this floor as well. On the way up the stairs you will come across a Bill and Ted mannequin and a pay phone, which I enjoyed showing my kids. On the second level, which is dimly illuminated, is where the fun happens. You will find more escape rooms up here, a small cosmic miniature golf course, and cool movie theater that plays 80s movies. They were playing Gremlins while I was there and they had Gremlin mannequins in the front row. I went through the hunted house and even though they did not have any live characters, and I knew what was coming, I still found the haunted house to be a bit scary. I may have flinch a bit walking through. The mini golf course glows and has an 80s music theme, with Michael Jackson and Guns and Roses mannequins. Everything except the escape rooms are included with admissions. You will find a bunch of 80s memorabilia around the museum like cabbage path dolls, troll dolls, critters, and a prince guitar. There are also placards throughout the museum that provide information on some of those exhibits. I liked this place. and most people that grew up in the 80s will go through here and reminisce about their childhood. The museum does have a lot crammed into it little space and spills out into the parking lot with a Top Gun jet and a Robo Cop police car. I recommend checking this place out, and suggest you search spots like Groupon to save you a few bucks. They do offer a military discount. read more

It's not a bad buy, considering the price. Unfortunately, several of the free play arcade games were out of order. They also don't tell you until AFTER you buy your tickets that the pinball machines are NOT free. They are 50 cents per play. The 80's "museum" and the indoor haunted house were just ok. The indoor mini golf was pretty dumb. But it's a good place to go if the weather is bad in Branson and you need to stay indoors. read more

Okay so I wasn't expecting much, but my husband really wanted to come here because he's obsessed with all things retro, games, action figures, etc. By the end, I was so impressed and actually wished we would have had an extra hour (we came around 8, and they close at 10.) My only request is that I wish you could take your drinks from the bar over to the game side. We didn't know that when we ordered our cocktails and had to stay at the bar to finish them. There really is a ton to see here, lots of retro games to play, a really cool haunted house, tons of stuff on display, and we didn't even get to the haunted house. I wanted to check this place out because I love anything retro but unfortunately, it was disappointing to me. My husband and I agreed if we had to go back to Branson, we would skip this entirely. I did not go to the restaurant so that is not part of my review. They did have several things: restaurant, gift shop, mini golf, haunted house, escape room (which I also did not do), and video games. I thought the haunted house was pretty decent but it is more of a wax museum than a retro place. I was expecting a lot of props, but like I said... there's more wax figures than props. It's okay, way to expensive for what it is. I believe we paid $16.95 per person, when it should be more like $10 per person. I wouldn't come back or recommend. There is so much to do in Branson, you can skip this. read more

It's kind of like an 80s pop culture museum meets a cheap wax museum. It's definitely seen better days, but as lifelong gamers, my husband and I had enough fun to justify the price of general admission. The mini golf, mini haunted house, and free games were all fun. Way to expensive for what it is, but the food and atmosphere almost made me forget the price of admission. At the front counter we were greeted by a friendly young man who gave us a thorough and enthusiastic explanation of what Retro Mania was and how it operated. I'm pretty sure he even mentioned some add-ons but we opted out of whatever they were. Anyway, a few minutes after entering and playing close to a hundred bucks for two adults and two kids, we were let loose to explore and play all of the arcade games they had to offer, which wasn't much. The Detroit police car from Robocop that sat outside drew us in, not to mention the overly cliche 80's exterior of the building, but the inside was even more intriguing. Decked out with life sized action figures and all sorts of other fascinating nostalgic pieces of pop culture, the interior brought out a lot of "oohs" and "aahs" from my entire family of four. I'm certain that's what made us overlook the price until we left and realized how much we just spent on such a small offering of entertainment. A few of the arcade machines didn't even work, the haunted house barely made my 8 year old daughter jump, and putt putt golf was too crowded to really enjoy. It was pretty rad spotting all the Gremlins that seemed to pop up everywhere we looked, and staring face to face with Beetlejuice was pretty cool, but simple things that should've been a point of focus seemed to be overlooked. The gift shop didn't have anything branded with the name "Retro Mania" (which I guess I could have overlooked) and mainly offered the same kind of pop culture memorabilia you'd find at an FYE or Books-A-Million, the space where the arcade cabinets sit was way too crowded to move freely despite there being maybe 10 cabinets max, and frankly some of the mannequins looked creepier than anything out of a Universal monster flick. However, the kids seemed to enjoy it for about 3/4 of an hour and when they were done we decided to get lunch in the accompanying restaurant. We were seated pretty quickly but after we ordered our drinks it was another 10-15 minutes before we were asked about an appetizer or our orders and that was purely by luck as one employee cleaning tables noticed we were still empty handed. The place was pretty empty with diners eating at two other tables so I was a little confused as to how the server could forget about one single table waiting to order. Nonetheless, we were eventually waited on and I decided to do something I rarely do when dining out; I ordered chicken. The Mad Max. A Gojuchang sauce based crispy chicken sandwich topped with slaw, this savory sando shocked me with its mouthwatering, absolutely delicious complex flavoring and ingredients and totally justified me always wanting to try something new. The wife opted for Culture Club, the "karma" of club sandwiches, and she seemed to be impressed too. No complaints, anyway. Still, I don't think the delectable lunch for four (my kids had chicken strips, go figure) in anyway justified the cost of admission. Honestly I'd expect to pay for the whole shebang, optional add ons and dining included, for what I paid for admission. Been looking forward to this place opening since our last visit earlier this year and was sadly disappointed. Money well spent! We spent hours here. Our family has a love for all things 80s. This is the place to see it all. We started in the Escape to the Future escape room. We played video games, pinball, mini-golf... one of the coolest parts was the extensive collection of memorabilia from 80s movies and collectors items. We loved reading the interesting facts. We didn't sit for the entire movie but we had recently watched that one. The food in the restaurant was so good and I would go back there to eat. Real, freshly made burgers and steak fries. There was a couple ahead of us to get into the restaurant that came back for another meal because they loved it so much. It was actually our love for the 80s that led us all the way to Branson and Retromania did not disappoint! I only wish there was a 'come back in the same week' pass because we'd totally do it. read more

Find somewhere else to spend your money! Came in a few hours before close. When walking in there was no one at the ticket booth, but someone was playing video games. We stood there for about 10 minutes when they turned around and it ended up being an employee. After not being able to play most of the games, and having to self serve one of the nastiest output golf equipment.we decided to go and hang out on the roof deck for a few minuets. Once we decided it was time to leave we came down the steps and the employee was locking the doors and looked up shocked to see us. We said good thing we came down when we did and she mentioned she didn't even realize we were there. Absolute waste of money, I wish we could get a refund. Basic admission price did not justify the experience ... which was very disappointing......was Just old, dusty, fake 80's memorabilia that is poorly maintained and just creepy. Half of the free video games did not work or were really quirky. The elevator was broken so our companion in a wheelchair could not see the upstairs... which is also completely unremarkable. Our group decided it might be a great blast from the past to come to Retro Mania! Upon walking in, you get amazed by all the bright lights, neon, and of course 80s vibe. Our group really enjoyed looking around at everything in the downstairs area, and we really liked playing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and The Simpsons 4-Player Games. The vast majority of a selection of classic arcade games were from the first to second floor, from Donkey Kong to Centipede, and Pac-Man to Frogger! The arcade games were already a great experience in itself, then we went to go play their mini golf course! Our party had so much fun playing their very 80s rock themed mini golf course! The creativity of each hole was really a sight to see! Sadly, they did not have Tron as one of their arcade games, which is one of our personal favorites, but we really loved the adventure! 10/10 recommend!! read more

I don't like to be too critical, but I find the need to. This attraction/museum is attempting something great and unfortunately fails at it. From the severed heads on the wall (surprised Trump wasn't there), to the homemade wax figures that are pretty scary, even when their not meant to be. This is not a house of horrors, but it pretty much is. I will admit, we got free tickets and was told upfront that it didn't include everything in the attraction. They had a haunted house, black light miniature golf, and a VR simulator. I did the VR experience for a price...that was okay, but did not attempt anything else for fear my complimentary tickets would not cover the cost for my enjoyment. The only thing left was the game room. Full of Sega and Atari type 80's games...PacMan, Frogger, Space Invaders....outdated machines with outdated excitement. I will admit that as I have aged, even Ms. PacMan can outrun me. Some great opportunities to have your picture taken with the Simpsons and the Gremlins. At least I can say I've been there once. Did not try the restaurant that's attached, but the food looks appetizing. And also, there are some cars parked out front which were used in different films. We loved this place. Cool memorabilia, the mini golf was cool. They have a theater where they play a good old school movie. A short but cool haunted house to walk through with popular, scary characters you will recognize from movies. Old school arcade games, and some neat escape rooms we did the E.T. Theme. They are building an Indiana Jones themed room but it wasn't finished. One of the rooms is on a bus out in the parking lot. The atmosphere of this place is awesome. There was a variety of free to play arcade games, as well as a mini golf course. At the time we went, around Halloween, there was a haunted house. Nothing too big, but it was well made and definitely got a few screams out of us. There were many decorations on the walls, and some cool statues to take pictures with. There was also a cafe connected to the building as well. While we didn't eat there, it looked super cool and matched the vibe of the rest of the place. I definitely recommend this attraction for adults as well as teenagers. read more

My man and I thought the building looked cool so we decided to come in and check it out, but we ended up feeling disappointed. For how much they charged us to get in, it was not worth it for what was offered. There are a few retro games, 9 hole mini golf, haunted house, open space movie theater, chess and connect 4 on the balcony, and a few escape room games (at an additional charge). We thought there would be more things to do like an actual walk through interactive retro museum, but it was not. I should've read the reviews before going in blindsided. I had a large group with me to do the E.T escape room. The woman that was running the escape rooms was very rude and snotty, and gave us a whole run down on what is and isn't part of the puzzles, which ruins the puzzles. At one point she said something along the lines of "don't be an idiot" The puzzles were lame and the locks were hard to unlock even when we had the right combination. I've never had such terrible service. We also did mini golf. The golf balls were disgusting and looked like they had never been cleaned. The whole place was hot and muggy. The arcade was pretty neat with the games being free, and the VR experience was mediocre and not really worth the money either. In general, not worth the money. read more

We did the escape room and that comes with access to the whole area including mini golf, free video games, movies, the arcade, and the haunted house. The kids loved it as well, but they are 10 and 12. For younger kids I would not recommend because it's darker in there and the haunted house and pg-13 movies are playing. The highlight was the escape room and we did the back to the future one, which we solved. The wax figures were terrible but fun to laugh at. read more

The people were jerks and you have to pay to watch your kids play, the reason this made me mad is because you have to pay to let your kids play in a random place and not know where they will go or who is with them they wouldn't let my dad step past the black tile without paying $30!!!!
