Our two biggest complaints were 1) the contractor has refused to turn over any materials purchase receipts so we have record of the purchase for warranty purposes, and 2) We have an issue with one of the steps that has a saw cut in it that needs to be replaced. The contractor will not return text messages or calls. Before I would make a final payment to this contractor, I would make sure everything is totally complete, and you have all the paperwork to support the project. Our mistake was to give him a check late in the day of his final day on site, without having the ability to take a good long look at everything in the light of day. At that time he also promised to deliver the necessary paperwork, and to drop off leftover materials for use to make minor changes ourselves. The result is shotty and cobbled-together! The fence wraps around a tree that crosses the property line-- they did NOT think to re-consider post placement and when challenged said the solution to meet building code was to "cut" a portion of the new fence off of our property. The manager said they would "try to come up with something", and was pretty unpleasant about my having mentioned their lack of quotes and receipts in the survey that they had emailed me. Really? You are supposed to provide detailed quotes and receipts. The company used to do that right. The changes that someone has instituted are not making for happy customers. Has it occurred to you that some customers may need those receipts for tax purposes? What you sent me via email within the body of your request for survey was a joke. I will update the rating when I receive the official receipt on the company's letterhead with a description of the work done and breakdown of charges. UPDATE: they finally got the Invoice right. To their credit, their response to survey and review was as quick as could be.
