They treat the patients like they are their family members.. I see it first hand with my own eyes all the time. I'm there a good 5 times a week and when I'm not, my aunts are. We all see how our families are treated here I can start with the smart, beautiful and caring Deanne who made everything quite easy for us with paperwork and made moving easy and still is always there making sure things run smoothly. Priscilla always around helping too. Next I must recognize the extremely kind and caring staff that are taking care of these very dependent people. The med techs are ALL SOOOOO smart and dependable and most of all very caring humans. No joke. They are on top of everything, Christine makes sure of it. The fine people that take care of my mom and the rest of the residents are so so hard working , kind, gentle and patient. There are too many to name and I do not want to leave anybody out. All the front people are sooo nice and welcoming too and the darling, sincere gem named Venessa is the heart and soul of this amazingly ran home for the cognitively impaired. Dementia is so hard, it's a true curse but Pacifica Spring Valley makes life dealable. Love this place!!!!!

The quality of care I received when I first came here one year ago was excellent. They were kind,…read more and took very good care of me. However, they were and still are short staffed with wait times after pressing call button of sometimes one hour. The quality of the food leaves much to be desired. So I wound up buying my own groceries and often times making my own lunch and dinner. The weight staff in the dining room does the best they can, however, in my opinion, with the exception of the head cook, the cooks don't know what they are doing. Often times you will wait one hour after ordering your food to get it, and then more often it is ice cold. Add it to that, it often tastes disgusting. There are residents here, but that belong in memory care or in a nursing home. There are residents here that are a danger to the other residents and even though we report them to the powers that be, nothing is done. I am happy to be saying I'm moving out of this place because I can and also because the price is way too high for the services that I use. Carefully research the place you are looking for to live in for yourself or a loved one. Walk in at different times of the day. Try to experience the food and the dining experience for yourself more than just once. Talk to the residents and ask a lot of questions. I would not recommend living here. And I hope and never come back to an facility, but if I do, it will not be this one.

Then when I wrote a review on line they told me parent the I had to remove the review. Well I did and I wrote a bunch of stuff that was nice and not true because I didn't want them to get kicked out. My parents were really old and they died this year so I had no problem writing the truth they can't kick them out now they're dead. One more thing they allow people to come in and take advantage of the old people and sell them junk I mean stuff from Goodwill across the way or salvation army and they sell it to him for 10 bucks and they get it for $2 at the salvation army I was really mad at them for allowing that to go on that was a total disregard for old people it shouldn't be allowing people in there to sell them junk. And they definitely shouldn't be allowed to take your parents minivan or any of the other crappy things they did. I wouldn't take my parents there if I were you.

We were generally impressed by how friendly and welcoming the staff and residents were and the abundance of activities to choose among. However, we were disappointed by the environmental and nutritional aspects of Acacia Springs. There was no robust system for recycling, and none at all for composting. The dining program almost totally ignored the expert consensus that Americans would improve their health (and the environment) by consuming smaller quantities of meat. 100% of the menu entrées were animal-based, and the vegetables were relegated to small "sides", some of which were marked as good sources of fiber or low in sodium (OK, but that suggests that everything else on the menu is NOT a good source of fiber or is HIGH in sodium!). A resident wanting to avoid animal-based foods altogether was forced to choose between veggieburgers and Greek salad with the feta cheese removed, while carnivors got 2 varied entrée options to choose from. The only plant-based milk alternative was ultra-sugared almond milk, and the only vegetable juice was high-sodium V8. Meal components such as salad dressings and oatmeal raisins were served in separate little plastic cups even if the resident asked for them to be mixed in, exacerbating the plastic-waste footprint of the facility.

I was recently fired and I know I may sound like just another disgruntled employee but this is not the case. The management team are definitely not in the business for the residents. They are very unprofessional in the way organizing. I have never seen so many falls as far as the residents go. They can not keep employees. It is literally a swinging door. I loved working with my fellow employees except for a few, which I know that happens everywhere. This place is in need of new managers if nothing else. They are very nice to you for a little while, and then the true colors really start showing. I was never late, and the reason I got fired was because I got put in the hospital for pneumonia and gallstones. and then was summonsed to court in Utah to help my daughter fight for custody for my grandson. They showed nothing but sympathy until a week later after I got back from Utah and they had hired four more people while I was gone. I understand I was still in my 90 day grace period, but the way they went about letting me go was nothing short of under handiness . I would not recommend working for this company unless you enjoy working around fake people.

There are no words to express the gratitude I have for the care provided to my father by the TLC…read morefamily. Prior to TLC my father was in at least three "memory care units" where lots of promises were made regarding the patient-centered care that would be provided and the expertise of handling any difficult behavioral problems that come with the progression of Alzheimer's. As a nurse practitioner, I thought I had done my due diligence with researching the facilities. I was wrong. With the covid shut down in March 2020, many of the facilities housing elderly took advantage of the fact that families could no longer check on loved ones physically and a lot of negligence occurred. My father was moved three times during this time as I tried to find the best care. What did Tender Loving Care provide that these other facilities did not? 1. As with any patient with dementia, moving them to a new facility can be very difficult. The transition can cause them to progress in dementia and not recover. It can increase behavioral disturbances during the adjustment period. My father was already having issues with agitation when needing to have his brief changed/bathing so the staff already had their hands full when he came over. Dr. McGivney and Kerri were amazing and worked very closely with me to make changes to his medication regimen to reduce the behavioral disturbances to allow the staff to care for my father. Once he was stable, the doctor would reassess with the goal of reducing medications as needed depending on dad's response. There is not one facility out there that I know that would spend this individualized attention with a patient. The staff is watching the resident daily and reporting back to Kerri and Dr. McGivney on medication response. 2. The staff truly got to know my father and what he liked. When they asked for the list of things he liked they actually used that information to learn how to get him to engage with the community. I would come in to visit and he would be in his "office" writing for work. He would be at the desk reading the newspaper while the staff was also sitting with him engaged with activities. Staff found out he liked to organize and clean, they would have him helping them and encouraging him, meeting him at his level . These were the biggest differences between TLC and other institutions. My father felt safe, happy, and content here. 3. The amazing backyard/courtyard for the residents. Lots of natural light inside the house. Previous facilities promised he could freely walk outside in the locked outdoor courtyard yet at each facility I would find out from my father they were all locked and a loud alarm would go off thus my Dad not wanting to go out. He loved being outside and this was the reason I had chosen those facilities !! At TLC, it was truly open and unlocked so residents could freely go outside in the backyard. This is so critical especially with the COVID shutdown that residents can get fresh air and sunshine. 4. Maintain all the COVID precautions. 5. I could go on and on with all the little things the staff did to let me know how much they cared for my father but there isn't enough space here. Thank you TLC for everything
