There are no words to express the gratitude I have for the care provided to my father by the TLC…read morefamily. Prior to TLC my father was in at least three "memory care units" where lots of promises were made regarding the patient-centered care that would be provided and the expertise of handling any difficult behavioral problems that come with the progression of Alzheimer's. As a nurse practitioner, I thought I had done my due diligence with researching the facilities. I was wrong. With the covid shut down in March 2020, many of the facilities housing elderly took advantage of the fact that families could no longer check on loved ones physically and a lot of negligence occurred. My father was moved three times during this time as I tried to find the best care. What did Tender Loving Care provide that these other facilities did not? 1. As with any patient with dementia, moving them to a new facility can be very difficult. The transition can cause them to progress in dementia and not recover. It can increase behavioral disturbances during the adjustment period. My father was already having issues with agitation when needing to have his brief changed/bathing so the staff already had their hands full when he came over. Dr. McGivney and Kerri were amazing and worked very closely with me to make changes to his medication regimen to reduce the behavioral disturbances to allow the staff to care for my father. Once he was stable, the doctor would reassess with the goal of reducing medications as needed depending on dad's response. There is not one facility out there that I know that would spend this individualized attention with a patient. The staff is watching the resident daily and reporting back to Kerri and Dr. McGivney on medication response. 2. The staff truly got to know my father and what he liked. When they asked for the list of things he liked they actually used that information to learn how to get him to engage with the community. I would come in to visit and he would be in his "office" writing for work. He would be at the desk reading the newspaper while the staff was also sitting with him engaged with activities. Staff found out he liked to organize and clean, they would have him helping them and encouraging him, meeting him at his level . These were the biggest differences between TLC and other institutions. My father felt safe, happy, and content here. 3. The amazing backyard/courtyard for the residents. Lots of natural light inside the house. Previous facilities promised he could freely walk outside in the locked outdoor courtyard yet at each facility I would find out from my father they were all locked and a loud alarm would go off thus my Dad not wanting to go out. He loved being outside and this was the reason I had chosen those facilities !! At TLC, it was truly open and unlocked so residents could freely go outside in the backyard. This is so critical especially with the COVID shutdown that residents can get fresh air and sunshine. 4. Maintain all the COVID precautions. 5. I could go on and on with all the little things the staff did to let me know how much they cared for my father but there isn't enough space here. Thank you TLC for everything

TLC provided this care with exceptional attention to detail, with much affection & respect shown to both my mother and our family. ELDER ABUSE: Red…read moreRock Pointe is the Las Vegas location of Resort Lifestyle Communities. The company business model offers over-priced, under-sized apartments along with dining services for one monthly fee. The company leans heavily upon the "Executive Chef" and the "Freedom Dining Program" to entice prospective renters. This is necessary because otherwise, nobody will pay $5k/mo for a 759 square foot apartment. The promise made to senior citizens and their children is this: We are operating a luxury cruise ship on the ground. All you do is have fun, while our staff takes care of the rest. The reality: The "Executive Chef" has ZERO training. The food is inedible. The soups are created using Las Vegas tap water (you don't want to drink it). The building has significant structural issues (plumbing leaks everywhere), the staff is fluid. Meaning, they won't be there long. The average employee has less than 2 months tenure. The community has had 4 managers in 1 year. 3 sales directors in 1 year. 4 Chefs in 1 year. 19 people have had the job of concierge in the 14 months since they opened. The residents are treated with disrespect (translate: they get yelled at) if they provide honest feedback to the managers. Additionally, if they contact Dan Hebenstreit, the corporate Director of Field Operations, he simply has them evicted in the hopes of "limiting the negativity". In other words, if you complain, they will make you homeless. Management regularly attempts to make senior residents who complain appear to be unreasonable to their children (who often pay the bill) . STEER CLEAR OF RED ROCK POINT!!! RLC will take your money and NOT deliver on their promises.

I walked in the wrong door to drop something off and was threatened with police. I was made to move my car off the property. I then walked in another wrong door and was aggressively threatened with jail time by a nurse who instantly screamed for security. Nice escalation for the threat of a girl carrying three 7-11 bags... Did they tell me that I was supposed to be at the building next door that happens to be the low care residential part of the complex?? Nope. Not either time. Did they tell me that they didn't like the was I was "walking too slowly" and that I was going to be "hurried up?" Yes. I remarked that I am handicapped and the officious enormous security guard said " o no ma'am. This has nothing to do with a disability." I then saw what looked like a place to drop off and asked and the security guard physically menaced me. The nurse who had jumped to threatening me with jail time with her second sentence was smugly laughing with her arms crossed (so obviously this was not about anything but power) I commented to the person for whom I was dropping off that this place should not be trusted. "Yeah, I'm kinda stuck here," he said "but I want to get out."

The health district needs to visit this place. Disgusting. My husband's call button didn't work. He was there 1 hour and not one person came in to check him in. Good thing he had a cell phone because he had to call the front desk to get someone to come in his room. When the woman finally came in she didn't know why he was there, had no paperwork or knew anything about him. He was in pain and asked for meds. He was told that meds would be hours or longer because they didn't have them there. They couldn't provide the care he needed- shocker!! So gross. I needed a shower after visiting that nasty place. I've never seen a care facility like that.
