    Sunset at Revere

We moved into the Revere at Tega Cay almost 3 months ago! We love it here. I love the neighbors, we seriously haven't met anyone that we don't like or who isn't kind. Our apartment is wonderful, perfect space for the two of us and our dog. The office staff is incredible along with the maintenance staff. We've only had one "emergency" maintenance that we needed when something went wrong with our AC. The maintenance crew was here within 5 minutes after I called and fixed the problem promptly with no issues at all. We love being able to walk or bike to Walmart, the local deli, other restaurants and Abbots custard. We plan on staying here until we build our first house. Another plus- there are amazing sunrises/sunsets from our balcony and the complex has started having food trucks come out!

I'm really happy to live in this place. I never have any problem with my apartment. It's large, new, comfortable. I love my home.

Renewing your lease year after year doesn't matter either. The quality of the apartment and community continues to go down but your rent continues to go up and up and up. I rented from around 2010 through 2018. I had the option of "free" cable or a brand new unit with black appliances and granite counters. I chose the cable because I didn't think I would be there that long and that meant more than (as a single guy) black appliances and granite. That "free" cable technically only lasted maybe a couple years. I was never offered complimentary carpet cleaning, or really anything, even though I continued to renew year after year. However, I was presented with increased rent. The management early on was pretty decent but then steadily declined resulting in poor communication about repairs and even receiving packages in the office. The parking is a mess constantly both in trash and with randoms trailers and such scattered all over the community. The quality of renters they approved also continued to go down as well. Plus, people in apartments are just selfish and disrespectful as sh!t. Of course, management couldn't care less. I ended up having two broken blinds back to back and they wanted to charge me $7 to replace one. Never heard of such a thing while renting an apartment. It's a cheap $2 string blind - after 10 years of use they get weak. I asked to have the plantation shutters (installed in the newly built apartments at the back of the community) installed to replace those cheap string blinds and they declined stating it would go against some sort of rule that all buildings must look the same and in order.. even though you could ride around and see all sorts of busted string blinds that just made the community look like crap. I repeatedly complained about water in my walls and they refused to actually fix it other than coming in and just priming the drywall so the huge water spots would disappear. It only took several years of complaining and showing concern about mold growth and telling them I would go to the corporate office and more before they actually "found something wrong" and fixed it and it never happened again. That should've been fixed years ago. End of story. Here's a positive... the pool stays open year round. haha

The exterior is lovely, with impeccable landscaping, and the area appears safe and clean. I enjoy taking long walks around the neighborhood. The negatives have been the noise from the streets, specifically ambulances racing up and down the highway at all hours of the night. To access highway 485, you must make this U-turn at a busy intersection. Inconvenient but not the end of the world. The one major negative I have experienced living at this complex has been the maintenance of the unit. My key would not work in the lock the first week I moved in. The lock was defective. I called maintenance, and it took maintenance over 3 hours to come and fix my lock. Similarly, my AC unit failed to cool my apartment. I called maintenance for assistance. They came by and confirmed that my unit had a leak that needed fixing. They promised to fix it within the week. Ten days later, my apartment still does not have a functioning AC. I am disappointed that management has not kept my unit functioning per our rental agreement; therefore, I can only give this place 2.5 stars. It is a decent place to live; however, I can live in another complex with functioning amenities for the money I spend.

Snoring neighbors, barking dogs, and can't forget loud neighbor sex like you are there with them. And all of this is before you even walk out your front door in the your filthy unkept breezeway! The construction quality is so poor with these buildings, you can hear your neighbors having normal level conversations through the floors and walls. It sounds like other people are walking around your apartment all day. You can even hear your neighbors snoring! There are no quiet closing hinges on cabinets or drawers so you hear everyones slamming them all day. The self closing front doors make everyones doors slam in the breezeways which startles you throughout the day. Not to mention the front door does not block any sound. All of this is not the what is to be expected from a "luxury apartment". With all this in mind you can imagine how much you hear your neighbors if they scream, have a barking dog, or are having sex very loud. Which is what all we had to deal with our first year here. Grounds are not kept up very well especially inside breezeways. No smoking and other rules are not enforced very well to where you encounter smokers regularly around the building or even in their apartments or on their balcony. So don't let the smoke free living fool you. Staff is helpful, but don't expect to be treated as if you are valued. Once you sign your lease all of that goes out the window and your told "if you don't like it you can buy your lease out and leave". The first year of living here we were told several times by staff how much apartment living sucks and maintenance team telling us how much we would be seeing them because of how the buildings were built. We wish this was told to us before we signed our original lease, we would have just rented a house for the time being.

Free live music 7 days a week thanks to the pool crowd. Why pay for a concert when you've got DJ ThongBoy spinning tracks at 10 a.m. on a Tuesday? 2.) FREE Built-in cardio program: Dodging water bugs, sketchy dogs and random half-naked people in the parking lot keeps the body toned and adrenaline high! Wonderful place to live if you are an adrenaline junkie. 3.)Strangers often left notes on my car telling me I was beautiful, which would be sweet if it wasn't...scary....walking to my car often felt like the opening scene of a First 48 episode. 4.) Last but certainly not least-The maintenance team was always very kind and extremely helpful. Shoutout to whoever is over the hiring process for the maintenance department. Great group of individuals. Super sweet lady (not sure of her name) often helping w grounds work, cleaning the pool area and grills in the morning. She deserves a raise and a vacation. Alright- now for the cons: I don't have the time, emotional bandwidth, or enough characters to capture this in one sitting. So here are just a few lowlights: 1.) Mushrooms. Growing. In. My. Bedroom. I actually love mushrooms; however, I didn't ask for an indoor garden -- and yet, here we are. Maintenance came by and snatched them out the wall. 2.) Used condoms in the grass -My poor niece thought someone had a water balloon fight. 3.) Walls thinner than paper. Unfortunately, I know my neighbors' nightly... routines... in HD surround sound. My master bedroom is on the other side of my neighbors master bedroom. 4.)Water bugs everywhere. I've never seen anything like this before. I am very clean and have never experienced any his. First night I woke up with one ON MY FACE. 5.) Unprofessional leasing agents (with the exception of Mark)Everyone else? Unresponsive, careless, and very useful for sending out empty noise complaints and random discombobulated emails. I received a random email one evening accusing me of having someone named Nabreika in my apartment for too long. I was also accused of having this persons mail delivered to my mailbox. I had no clue who the individual was, as I almost never have guests. Shocked and confused, I went to the office to speak about the accusations in the email, they concluded that there was a mix up and apologized. 6.) The pool = frat party hell. Drunk/high people in thongs year-round blasting music like it's Coachella. If you can not afford concert tickets, you're in luck, this is the place for you! I work from home and had to take Zoom calls in my bathroom just to block out the noise. 7.) Dog policy? My 12-year-old poodle (who had an aggressive form cancer bless her heart) was attacked by a large aggressive pit bull on the property. Leasing office said they couldn't "track the dog down owner down......although I provided them with the building number that the individual lived in. *** I'll be back to add pictures of the lovely mushrooms in my bedroom along with the huge hole in my bedroom wall that had to be cut and eventually closed back( my water heater was leaking into my downstairs neighbors bedroom).
