I was also impressed with their men's tie selection, noting that there was one from Oscar De La Renta (very cool). Overall, a good variety of clothing for both men and women. The furniture/kitchen/art/textile/book selection was fair but not as extensive as their clothing. I did also note a beautiful Persian rug for sale in their entrance way. All in all, I would definitely recommend checking this place out. As the years passed they expanded into a full-service jewelry operation offering a variety of watches, jewelry, and silver repair. Along with retail sales they offered machine engraving, bead restringing, and battery replacement. It was battery replacement that brought me in as they continue this. Service was friendly and they replaced the battery in minutes. They even polished the watch up. Today, Tuel Jewelers continues to offer a full-service family friendly jewelry business carrying fine jewelry in diamonds, pearls, platinum, gold, and silver; rings, pendants, and bracelets; Its hard to find a store that offers both Jefferson, Virginia, and Mint Julep cups. The buyers have a great eye for antiques, especially art. The oil paintings were captivating. One in particular caught my eye and I asked about it. Linda was kind and helpful, never condescending or snobby to my questions about it. I told her I would sleep on a decision, as the painting was (for me) pricey. I could not stop thinking about it and I knew it would haunt me if I didn't take it home. I returned the next day and Linda had the painting waiting for me. They carefully wrapped it for me and offered to carry it out to my vehicle. It was such a great experience, from start to finish. Entering the art world is very intimidating for a newbie, but they made it welcoming and approachable. My new painting is the focal point of my den and every time I see it, I smile and think of our wonderful trip to rural Virginia.

We finally visited this shop after our kids had been asking for months…read more We wanted to wait til warmer weather when they'd have their sluicing run open. We bought the midsize sluicing bag and split it between our two boys. There were so many gemstones in it! (almost not enough sand though) and the sluicing set up was really nice. Fun affordable summer activity for the kids. The store itself was clean and well organized, and it's always fun to see what cool rocks, gemstones and items of interest unique stores like this have stocked. I'm sure we will be back to sluice again at some point in the future!
