And then you get to a point where it's not physical therapy, it's mental, spiritual, and physical therapy. His encouragement to connect to the pain so that healing doesn't just happen in the body but in the mind as well is extraordinary. Now, like I said, I've only seen him 3 times. But my body feels younger, my mind and spirit are lighter, and I can't wait to continue working with him on my healing journey. At around 13 weeks pregnancy I got the worse sciatica pain that put me in bed for over a week. Getting up to use a bathroom was a miserable pain, went to a doctor who suggested Tylenol and rest, then started physical therapy which honestly wasn't helping, started massages at one of the local massage salons. I suffered from a major birth trauma after delivering a large baby where my pelvic bones separated. I could not walk and had to use a wheelchair. I got a certificate for when I was pregnant with my twins- However, my doctor put me on strict bedrest and I could not redeem my massage at that time. Fast forward a year (one day literally after my boys turned one) and I finally got in. Steve is amazing. I opted for Myofascial although I had no idea about it but it sounded similar to Bowen Therapy which I enjoyed in the past. Steve really took a lot of time to focus on key areas- he even stretched (?) my jaw with a technique to help TMJ pain. He also tried to realign my hips. He is a very nice man and even though I am strapped for cash with two lil ones, I am saving enough to go back in October (hopefully). Based on just my one visit I would highly recommend him.
