You can call, but you get an automatic message system, and that too is never up-to-date. About the place, I went for public skate there for more six (6) months, and the ice wasn't cut (meaning: it wasn't smoothed over with the Zamboni). That is no way to treat the public. The staff is so rude, and they think of them selves as the best. (Not saying I am, far from "the best"). But really, they are very inconsiderate, and late. They could tell you that public skate started at 2PM, but the hockey players will be on past 2:20PM and you can tell the staff, but they won't do anything. Please don't go here!

I went there on a Saturday afternoon for their 'open skate'. I was not aware it was only for young kids - the woman at the counter did not inform me. When I got in it was obvious that it was all allocated to a couple of huge birthday parties for area families and their young children. I felt very out of place, and thoroughly unwelcomed. I fell once, and the woman (apparently the manager) offered to let me leave, and she'd give me my money back. She was extremely discouraging. Then shortly after, she came over and told me I couldn't sit at any of their tables, as the 'kids will be using them for their pizza party'. At that point, I decide to leave. She at least gave me my money back. I later went to Skateaway in Wilkes-Barre, and it was great. It took me a bit to get back into it, but all the people there are friendly, and it's a more diverse and welcoming population. It's also much bigger and better maintained. Rollaway seems like a place that hasn't had an update in a hundred years. So if you want to go skating and really have a good time, go to Skateaway on Blackman street in Wilkes-Barre. Day of the party, brought siblings with us, only intended to have them skate, not play in the arcade or laser tag with the party kids. Was told at that time that these kids would need a "package" too, they couldnt just skate. Of course we were prepared to pay for rentals but not a package for each additional child. when questioned this the owner said this should have been explained on the phone but i can tell you 100% it was not.
